Re: ESA permitted work

Hi. I used the permitted work for quite a whiles as I just wasn't ready to return to work full time. It was around four months. Regards Michele

Re: ESA permitted work

Thanks Michele, it is good to hear that as a self employed person you knew that you had this benefit to help you, from my experience not many self employed people are aware. I have been placed in the support only group. I am going to test the waters with my employer explaining that this option, permitted work, may help me compare to what they are offering which is quite risky financially. Can I ask how long did you use the permitted work? Smiley Happy

Re: ESA permitted work

Hi Anxious Soul

I am self employed and gave up work when I was diagnosed with BC in September 2017.

I started going back to part time work in the summer and filled in the "permitted work" form along with a sick note from my doctor to say phased return or altered hours. It took them a while to review but said in the meantime I could work. (There are restrictions to how many hours you can work and how much you can earn). After they reviewed my form they asked for proof of earnings which would be payslips if you are employed or bank statements in my instance. I have now returned to work full time but found the permitted work useful. Michele

ESA permitted work

Hi all,

is there anyone out there who has used to DWP permitted work rules whilst in receipt of ESA and this has worked well in terms of easing back to work? Smiley Happy
