That’s wonderful that you can be so open with them and they can show you support ❤️

Re: Quite lonely for under 40’s

Hey,

Even tho they are older they have been amazing, unbelievably amazing.

I did lots of research about how to tell them, and in the end it just kinda came out. Both had a cry and cuddles but I told them from day one that i would never lie to them. I would always tell them the good news and also the bad news. Which I think helped cos they knew what was Happening. Both amazing children.

all the best xx

I’m sorry we have this diagnosis in common. I’m 2 weeks and a bit post treatment. Fatigue and my skin are improving steadily 🙏🏽💪🏽💕

In in some ways I’m lucky my children are so young, I can’t imagine how worried your kids must be for you♥️

Wishing you all the best for your treatment.

Hi Kimberley,

I’m so sorry to hear all you’ve been through. You must be an amazingly resilient and strong women, after experiencing such loss at such a young age.

I would of course love to chat anytime 😊

Re: Quite lonely for under 40’s

Hey 5th gen,

I found the younger women breast cancer Facebook group a good source for reading stories about similar women or experiences. I haven’t reached out to them as yet though. I’ve also checked out the ‘someone like me’ web page but I need to call! There aren’t enough hours in the day sometimes, running around after two toddlers and getting to therapy on time! I’ve also got the BECCA app recently and they’ve got some great articles.

Xx

Hi Nush

I feel exactly the same. Its good to hear you have a nice family support, but it is always nice to talk to someone who has been through the same. I was diagnosed at 28 and had mastectomy within a month. Then chemo and currently having herceptin and on tamoxifen. Happy to chat 😊

Take care,

Kimberley

Maybe Younger Breast Cancer Network on Facebook could point you in the right direction ?? There is also a Someone Like me service run by Breast Cancer Care which may be able to link you up with someone in a similar situation .

Quite lonely for under 40’s

Hi everyone, I’m currently in my first of four weeks of radiotherapy and I’ve met some amazing people but no one close to my age.

This has been the case since diagnosis.

A little part of me was hoping to meet some ‘younger’ women, possibly in the same boat.

I have a great support group within my family but it would be nice to meet someone closer to my age. To chat...to just see that I’m not alone!

Anyone know where I should start?
