I said something feeble like 'Yeah, thank you' ...   I've also had people saying I look better than they expect, makes me wonder what they expect!! I'm finding most people are lovely though, especially people in my parents generation. I'm guessing it's more usual in their age group.  ... View more

I haven't been able to do anything today, totally exhausted, I probably did too much yesterday. Still taking painkillers but not so many. Interesting about the bra.   I think having a bra on definitely helps me feel secure and supported. Also disguises the fact that one breast is now smaller than the other!!  I went out briefly today and was terrified someone would knock into me. Someone told me that when I have the dressings removed I'll notice a blue dye that apparently they use during surgery. Quite intrigued now!!  ... View more

Thank you Kmk66, sorry to hear you've had so many surgeries.  I have been taking over the counter paracetemol and codeine (500/8) which is the highest level of codeine I can stomach and it has helped 🙂 I was chatting to a friend online last night and she had a WLE several years ago and said she still gets pains. Hi Jill, Thanks, it was a lot better yesterday. I have been looking through the posts on the forum and it seems some people get more pain than others, I guess it depends on the size and type of excision.  Also, I was already very bruised from the biopsy. Hi,    Thank you.  I was fine in hospital as they gave me a combination (not all at the same time!) of oxycontin, oramorph, paracetemol, ibuprofen. When I asked about pain relief on discharge they told me to go to the GP if I needed anything stronger than paracetemol and ibuprofen but with it being a bank holiday yesterday that wasn't possible. Thankfully the pain has been a lot better today and I am much happier but if I need surgery again I will definitely insist on a prescription for something stronger X ... View more

Hiya all, I think it's normal to be all over the place emotionally.  Actually wouldn't it be more worrying if we were okay with our diagnoses? Thank you Kim!   I think it is at times like this you really do find out what people are like.  Some people don't know what to say which is understandable but as the person with the diagnosis it can be very hurtful to be ignored by people who you would expect to be there for you.  Someone I have known a long time pretended she hadn't seen me today, and quickly crossed the road so our paths didn't cross, ouch!
