Thinking of everyone going through this and waiting for results. As my wait has been longer than usual (will be two weeks from the scan when I receive them next Tuesday) I am an absolute nervous wreck. Thank you Funnyface xx my Consultant is on holiday hence the wait! I have had lung mets for 4 years now and each time I expect to be told it has gone somewhere else. I am lucky that I have had two long runs on Cape and Taxol but always expecting my luck to run out. Gosh I don't sound very positive do I - need my man up pills as my son says :0) Thank you for your reply, I hope you are well xx

I have a CT at 8.20 tomorrow morning - it has been 4 months since my last one and the first since starting GemCarbo. Results are 2nd May so a nicd long nail biting wait! Thinking of all those awaiting results xx

I have had 3 cycles of GemCarbo, number 4 is on Tuesday. I am in my fifth year since diagnosis (fourth with secondaries). I had two long runs on Cape and Taxol which kept me stable. For cycle three the anti sickness was changed to Domperidone and the steroids (Dex) were halved and I felt fine, no sickness at all. I have an active lifestyle and walk about six miles a day with my dog. I have not had any fatigue on this (or any chemo actually) however I have had two blood transfusions recently, have managed to avoid them until now!! My hair is growing back too - have not had hair for two years so should be interesting!! It is definitely doable, nowhere near as bad as I anticipated, I hope you have good results on it xx

I was on weekly Taxol for almost 21 months and found it very doable. It kept me stable all that time, I hope you do well on it xx

I have had a PICC for almost a year and have had very little trouble with it (was allergic to the clip which had to be removed). Don't know I have it really, I hope you can get sorted, you shouldn't have to be worrying about cannulas xx

I have a friend on Perjeta (through insurance) and it is working well for her, we cannot have it in Wales however. There is also Lapatinib (Tyverb) which I did have for 18 months with Cape and it worked well. Try not to look too far ahead (wish I could take my own advice there!!) - believe that these will work (and work well) and enjoy every moment xx

Hi Angela Do tell your Consultant hoe you feel, I was on Cape for about 18 months. I didn't have any problems with tiredness but my feet were very sore and I did ask for some breaks. It kept me stable all that time, I hope it works well for you too xx

Hi Di i know exactly how you feel, I am so sorry you have had this news. My sons were 14 and 11 when I was diagnosed, they are now 19 and 16. I did not respond to the first chemo given on secondary diagnosis however had two good runs on Capecitabine and Taxol (18 and 21 months respectively). I have lung mets and am still well and active. My own way of dealing with it is to stay as "normal" as possible. You will feel better once your treatment plan is in place. The sister who gave me my chemo for my primary cancer cried when I told her. Then she told me to get angry and fight. You will surprise yourself, please don't panic. Sending lots of love xxx

I was stable on weekly taxol for 21 months, have been taken off it due to a marginal change. I hope that helps you a bit xx

Hi Carolina I just wanted to wish you well with Kadcyla, I have just been turned down for it (I live in N Wales) and I have to admit it has knocked me sideways. I have had two good runs on two separate chemo's (Cape and Taxol) so there are other options for you. I am going to take Molly for a good walk to the beach now, hopefully the sea air will do something!! Wishing you the very best Sarah xx

Barton my Consultant filled out a DS1500 (and told me not to read it!!) I did not have to fill in or answer anything else and get the higher rate PIP. Hope that helps xx

Hi Karen hope you are feeling brighter xx I have had lung mets since 2013, Two scans in 2013 showed progression and I really thought that was it however I did respond to the next treatment and have been largely stable since then. I hope that gives you a bit of hope. I haven't seen my BCN for four years - she vanished on my secondary diagnosis!! Hopefully you have access to one xx

Good morning everyone xx I heard on Tuesday that my application for Kadcyla had been turned down (as I expected really). I am therefore starting GrmCarbo on the 24th January and continuing with Herceptin. I am terrified that my options are running out, I am very well in myself and have been stable since August 2013 on Cape and then Taxol. I had FEC and Taxotere in 2012 before surgery and also had Vinorelbine in 2013 (didn't work). I am in N Wales and we seem to have less options here. Anyway I am sorry for the depressing post, just find it all so scary xx
