Michelle, Hello there - I think we are all in shock when we get a BC diagnosis eh? So sorry to find yourself here but you will find lots of support & answers to any questions which you will probably have. Also, you can ask/say things here that you don't want to voice to your friends or family because although they want the best for you they are a bit frightened, I suppose, if that makes sense. The ladies here have seen & heard it all before. Wishing you all the best and once you have a treatment plan in place, you will feel much more in control, definitely. Morning Emma, Thanks for sharing that. Just wanted to mention that my mum gets acupuncture every month from her GP - not cancer related tho. He is fully trained and just charges her for the needles - 5 pound a visit. It might be worth asking in your practice if anyone practises it? Best wishes & take care xx

Just to let you know that when I was in for my lumpectomy in May - one of the other ladies also had a big reunion planned with her scattered family & was worried that Radiotherapy would be slap bang in the middle of it. It was either the BCN or the surgeon (can't remember which) said - No, this disease doesn't rule us, of course you can have your holiday!. So, I don't think that you've anything to worry about. Hello there Kim, Just to let you know that there is a nail polish available that allows moisture & air through. It's called INGLOT O2M breathable nail enamel. It's available online and pricewise is on a par with Nails Inc. I ordered a base coat, 3 different colours & a top coat. I've used them all & am very pleased with them. Best wishes Carol x

Butterfly, You go girl - good on you. Enjoy your wee trips to London. Sounds good. After I had healed from my surgery, my husband, unbeknown to me, booked & paid for a flight to visit my best friend who lives in Spain. When I was told & queried why he wasn't coming his exact words were......Wouldn't dream of it - you go & chill & enjoy yourself. So I did & it was a real tonic.....just what I needed! Morning Sophie, Just thought I'd throw my tuppence worth in. I've just bought a travel insurance policy for the USA for 1 week. When I declared my BC diagnosis - they ask a few questions re treatment finished, when diagnosed etc and the end result was the policy increased by 2.78 pounds which I thought was very reasonable. One of the main reasons that you're advised to declare is that Tamoxifen could leave you at greater risk of a DVT. And if that should happen and BC not declared then they could refuse to pay out in the event of a claim. The Company is called Puffin Insurance & I found them through Compare the market.
