My original consultant was totally tactless and unsupportive so I chose to go private. My care has been excellent and again I see the same radiologists every time, have access to the most up to date equipment and have 25 sessions of lower dose radiotherapy rather than the 25 sessions the NHS are bound by, which has far more side effects. I consider myself very fortunate but would say definitely go private if radiotherapy or chemo is needed. Unless your hospital can provide worldwide recommended treatment .
