Well hello all you lovelies,  long time since I posted on here and far too many posts to go back and read to catch up on everyone so hoping all, old and new (new to me anyway) are all doing  well.  The amazing Janey did tell me she’d had done The  Race for Life yesterday and had posted a pic on here so I just had to pop in and add my congrats and thanks to everyone else’s.    Hope you’re all stocked up with suncream, Pimms, and good books for the heatwave.  Once again another hot summer, have to say I for one am getting used to our tropical summers, just don’t like the hot and humid nights, the menopause is still in full force, keep telling myself it can’t last forever but I’m beginning to think it will xx   ... Well Alibobs, my sister insists my BC was caused by taking hrt for years, however, since being diagnosed I have come into contact with a large number of fellow sufferers and so far I’m the only one I know who took hrt so I’m still not convinced.  I wasn’t told it was a contributing factor but was told that as I scored 8/8 er I mustn’t take it any longer and needed to take anastrazole for a minimum of 5 years.  Only managed 3 months before stopping as it made me so ill.  Have to admit I’d love to go back on hrt just to get a good nights sleep but guess it’s too risky.  That programme did say that hrt only made a slight increase in the risk and being overweight or drinking was worse,  There are plenty of tee total slim women who have never taken hrt who get BC and plenty of over weight heavy drinkers who don’t so I refuse to be made to feel guilty for taking something that I needed.  I’m sure men aren’t made to feel guilty when they are unlucky enough to be one of the statistics.   Right, enough yattering from me, time for a lemsip and bed xx ... Hello Willows,   Thought I’d say hello.  Though I haven’t bern posting lately I have been looking in on you.  So glad you got. a good result Janey though could have been better. Also pleased Lady H on the mend.   Very interesting programme Monday night on the menopause.  Mine started 15 years ago,kept reasonably under control by hrt for 13 years.  Having had to come off it when diagnosed 2.5 years ago it’s showing no signs of easing up at all, anything between 4-6 during the night.  I’m beginning to think I’ll have it for life.   Tree up today, cards written ready for posting so feeling pretty pleased with myself, just as well as throat and eyes just started aching and got the feeling a cold is on the way so at least I’m ahead of the game if I need a couple of days indoors. Evening Willows,   Glad to hear you’re feeling a bit better Lady H, the cough is always the worse and longest lasting bit, also pleased to hear you’re taking it easy.   Oh Janey, what a worry, you seem to go from one thing to another.  Will be keeping everything crossed for a good result.  Himself had worrying liver results last week when in hospital.  He had same test about 6weeks or so ago, and they were fine then so they were puzzled.  Might be down the the stupid gp prescribing antibiotics with contra indications so they’re going to re test in a month and hope they are back to normal then.  In the meantime third lot of antibiotics still not having any effect on his infection.   im still limping, sore and bruised from my fall 3weeks ago, honestly, what a lot we are!   Everyone is talking about The Bodyguard, didn’t watch it, hope they repeat it as everyone is raving over it.   Right, time for painkillers and bed, what an exciting life xx ... So sorry op cancelled Lady H, really hoping you feel better soon and get the op over and done with and on the road to recovery pdq.   Yes, lots to thank our wonderful NHS for.  The past few weeks I’m starting to feel like the hospital is home.  Himself is in and out like a yo-yo.  Yesterday dash in an ambulance with him for the fourth time this year, might as well leave one parked in our drive.  Got him home now and nurse Ratchet has her uniform on yet again.   waiting for our lovely gardener to come and cut the grass and would you believe it, now we finally actually have some  to cut it’s started raining so she’ll ptobably have to cancel, plus it’s windy and chilly, think it’s time for heating to go on.     Wishing you all a lovely weekend xx ... Hi all,   I haven’t posted for ages as things have been very difficult,  but I have been popping in to keep a beady eye on you.  It’s been very quiet on here, just hoping it’s because everyone is busying moving on from the BC nightmare and enjoying life.   Just wanted to wish you good luck with the op Lady H and to remind you to take things easy after.  Let people round around after you if they offer, they will be glad of a chance to help as you would be, so enjoy the leisure time, do your tapestry, get some good books and DVDs in and the garden will take care of itself xx ... Thank you for birthday wishes, I really had a brilliant day, hope you did too on Tuesday Dizzy.  As you get older I find birthdays are just another day, but yesterday I felt like I used on my birthday whenI was a child, special.  I had so many cards and presents.  Himself and I met friends for drinks (more cards and pressies) then headed off on our own for lunch in a new restaurant opened recently in town.  It’s was lush.  During the meal one of himself’s oldest friends came  in, came up to our table, sang happy birthday to me, left a card and pressie on the table and left, embarrassing but funny at the same time.   Youre probably right about my feet Delly.  The acupuncturist treated them Tuesday and I left there 100% pain free, now I’m aout 60%, unfortunately it was the last session(free at the hospice) Think I’ll look into finding a good one locally, it will be worth paying for as although the sessions havent  helped my headaches or hot flushes when I told her about my feet this week she put the pins in the appropriate places and it’s worked.   Right, birthday over, it’s raining so can’t get in the garden so no excuses, time   to get on with some cleaning xx ... Hello lovelies,  just checked in, thank you for birthday greetings, but mine is not until tomorrow, is it Dizzys today? If so many happy returns of the day, hope you’re having a lovely day xx   Its been  quiet on here lately, hopefully everyone is moving on in a good way.  Had my last acupuncture session this am, think it’s helping with migraines as touch wood not had one for couple of months though still getting the daily chronic headache.  My self diagnosed plantar fasciitis is apparently not!  Doc says it’s Achilles tendonitis, on anti inflamotries for a month but acupuncture this morning really helped     Well done with the win Lady H, and congrats with the nomination Sue.  How we’ve all coped and flourished in The last couple of years is amazing.  I rewatched The Calendar Girls on Sunday afternoon, maybe us lot should do a 2019 ccalender to inspire newly diagnosed ladies, Delly what do you think? Another cracker Rubycst, love it.   Delly, you’re not the only one Ive heard mouthing off about that James Martin programme and the disgusting fried butter balls and other muck he served up.  What were the producers thinking of?   So at last this extreme heat is supposed to be coming to an end tomorrow, still temperatures of between 23-25 forecasted which is just right, fed up of 30+ week after week and I usually love this heat but this is too much, no air and so humid at night especially when I’m getting hot flushes on top.  Expect I’ll soon be moaning that it’s too cold.   Hope everyone is enjoying their summer and have been managing to stay cool though I think it’s only the south east corner that’s been having extreme heat, know my sister is Wales says it’s lovely there, just right, mid 20’s with a nice breeze xx ... Hello everyone,   Just had a quick catch up.  Not many postings these days, guess were all busy getting on with things and trying to stay cool.  I love the sun but it’s a bit much, 33 in new money today.  I’m currently on my swing in the garden, heads in the  shade but another 20 minutes or so the sun will be face on so no shade and I’ll retreating Indoors.   So glad Colin finally agreed to the stairlift Helena, as you say, will conserve his energy for more important things, plus you can use it for taking laundry etc upstairs for you.   Yes Delly, he forgave me for wrecking the hebe and is now in the process of cutting it down, a bit at a time, fills the garden wheelie bin up then stops until it’s emptied.  Digging the roots up is going to be a major job though, neither of us will b3 able to manage it but we will worry about that when we have to.   Hope everyone who is absent is enjoying  their summer.  I expect come autumn/winter and the dark cold nights  we will havefull attendance again xx         ... Yay, brilliant news Dizzy, plenty of hay in the Nddie field due to everyones lawns turning yo hay due to this incessant heat and no rainfall.   Sad to hear about Beths mum.  Not 7nexpected but doesn’t make it any less painful.   Delly, sis saw consultant yesterday, no evid3nce of C, but cyst on ovary growing and fast, advised to have both out asap..  However, due to her many health issues plus being on warfarin any surgery is tricky.  She’ll have to be hospital 3 days before and 2-3 days after so I’ll be going to stay with her after as she’ll be st risk of heamrogicing for upto a week after.     Think id better disappear  now!  I went a bit beserk with the secteurs earlier and have made a right mess of one of himself’s favourite hebes, MASSIVE hole it, looks terrible.  It’s in the front garden right by front door so he can’t miss it.  Oh dear, no chance of it filling in by morning.   Great news Clair, just make sure you don’t use the extra free time cleaning or anuth8ng stupid like thst.   oh, wish it would rain.  None here, missed the showers forecasted, going to be 33 tomorrow.  Delly if I win the lottery and get my swimming pool you’ll be my first guest.  By the way, remember my friend who came out to me?  Well after several very difficult months plunging into depression, lots of counselling etc she finally told her mother, sister and a few close friends.  She’s now met someone, went to PRIDE with her in London, told all her work colleagues, never been happier and they’ve just booked a holiday together.  So happy for her xx   ps, finished antibiotics but still chesty, had a vino every night so that’s probably why xx ... Right Lady H, now try and enjoy the rest of your summer and try and get Colin to accept all the help and assistance available including stairlift, you need to be able to concentrate on yourself without fretting over him.  Honestly men, I do understand that they feel the need to try and keep as much independence as possible but you’d think they’d realise thst all these things actually give them more not less, hey ho. we love them anyway.   Its still too hot here though today we did have a fair bit of cloud but that just made it more heavy and humid.  Did enjoy a nice stroll along the river Thames after lunch admiring all the beautiful boats.  Think if I sold my house I still wouldnt have enough  to buy one.  Still, not complaining, quite content, if I had One it would only be something else to clean xx ... Oh dear Dizzy, anxious times. My first check after treatment came in 6 days, this time it took nearly 3 weeks, I was climbing the walls convinced there was something wrong.  Can never secondguess these things.  The waiting is just awful.   All ready waiting for a lovely friend to pick me up.  Off for a walk along the river in Marlow then lunch there.  Really looking forward to as ages since I saw her.  Not sure when, but must have been months ago as I can remember us eating our lunch in front of a roaring log fire, don’t think we will be today, it’s scorching hot already.  She was the boss’s PA in my lady job and we had desks opposite each other and we used to keep each other sane muttering rude things to that one one else could hear when things got too stress.  At first glance we looked like two respectable middle aged women but loved shocking the youngsters in the office.  I would say, oh happy days but being retired is much better.   Blessed day (Haidmaid fans will get that) xx ... Dizzy, no news is good news so they say.  I was told I’d get the results in 2-3 weeks.  I waited until 2 days before the 3 week cut off.  My mind was in overdrive, oh, must be something found so they’ve sent it to the appointments  desk, that’s why it’s taking so long etc, then it came, all clear.  It’s an awful time waiting for the postman.  Will be checking on here everyday waiting for you to say, it’s arrived, all ok.  Had an email from an old friend who moved away from the area about 10years ago, she was diagnosed a year before me.  This year she got a call back, shock horror.  Her, husband and children all went into panic mode.  All turned ok, just not good enough pics on mammogram, phew....  so even a call back is not necessarily  bad news.  Will file thst away for future reference.   Today was cooler but still flipping hot.  Would have revelled  in it if I hadn’t had to come off hrt, now they’re saying back up to 30degrees next couple  of days so got all my chillows, ice packs, and mattress coolers lined up in plastic bags ready for the freezer.  So wish I had an outside swimming pool, not that I’ve got an inside one in case anyone is thinking thst xx ... Hello all,   very wuiet on her lately, guess every is either enjoying the hot weather or trying to keep cool.  They keep promising rain but none in our corner of the country so far.   Lee, you are a trooper!  You sound so upbeat and positive even though though going through such a tough time.  Well. You’re a third of the way through now so hang on in there.  Sendin* hugs to you down under xx   As usual himself has been causing me grief.  Really bad fall in town Saturday.  Someone called an ambulance but he made them call and cancel it.  Got home and  i cleaned him up and bandaged him.  Sunday morning i insisted he go to minor injuries at local hospital.  They put him in an ambulance to hospital 45 minutes away for emergency brain scan as they were worried he had a bleed on the brain.  Thankfully not.  Umpteen other checks, X-rays, ecg etc redid my dressings and course of antibiotics anD discharged.  His face is a right mess.  We popped out earlier and everytime some e looked st him I said, thst will teach him for answering me back.  I got some strange looks.   Had my nails done and sitting next to me getting hers done with my breast care nurse.  Only time I saw her was the day I was told the news.  Every time I phoned and left a message on of her colleagues called me back, was not impressed with her at all, still thankfully that’s all behind me xx ...
