Good morning all,   Another scorcher.  Yes, hopefully lack of activity on here is because everyone is making the most of the beautiful weather.  Yesterday I had my second bash at gardening.  Just a bit of weeding, very satisfying I must say.  Between himself and I the garden is looking ok.  Just the shrubs need a hair cut but we both agreed it’s not a good idea to let me loose with the electric hedge trimmer (images of chainsaw massacre come to mind)   Glazier is coming to look at broken window in the week.  Without actually seeing it yet he thinks he’ll probally be able just to replace the glass and not have to replace the whole unit.  I reckon it must have been a red kite as we have literally thousands of them round here and they’re massive.  Yesterday afternoon I counted 50 in the sky at the same time circling above our garden.  Funny to think, a few years ago I used to get excited when I saw one, now they’re a flipping nuisance.   Time for coffee in my tidy garden, enjoy your bank holiday Willows xx ... Oh Dizzy, your heart must have nearly stopped. What a girl Daisy is though, got to hand it to her.  Most dogs will take off  on land after squirrels, rabbits, deer etc, but to swim out like that out to sea, well, as I say, what a girl!     Walked to town and back earlier and it’s so hot, guess we’ll all be complaining about the heat now.  I wore jeans, big mistake!  Need to sort out summer cotton pants but doubt the nice weather will last.   Hope you remembered your water Lady H, far too hot for chucking balls about with plenty of liquid and a big hat. So the waiting begins Clair.  I didn’t have an ultra scan last year when I had my first year check either.  Hopefully you’ll get your letter soon.  Horrible anxious time waiting for that envelope to drop through the letter box.  They say within 2 weeks but think it varies, at a recent  BC support group meeting 1 got her all clear in a week, another waited 3 nerve wracking weeks, both around the same time and from the same hospital.   Just went into my spare bedroom and found a huge crack in the window, heavens knows how it happened or how much it will cost to replace, just hope Can get away with replacing glass only and not whole unit, urgh, not happy xx  ... Enjoy that vino Helena, you’ve certainly earned it.  I’m fine, had a lovely day catching up with an old friend who moved away from the area a couple of years ago.  We met  halfway (two buses for me) and had a lovely long lunch in a country pub.  It was tipping down all day but they had a huge log fire blazing.  Still, according to the forecast summer is making a comeback tomorrow, here’s hoping it’s right xx  ... Happy freezing cold Monday Willows,   Littlefsiry, hope you’re feeling calmer now.  I think we all get those moments of panic, though I’m lucky (touch wood) in that Ive never had a full blown panic attack.  I know in the past you have spoke about about them on here and we are always here for you, but you should probably speak to your gp.  If you don’t want to go down the pill route there’s are coping things you can do to ease them I’m told xx     My appointment is through at the breast clinic, 14 May, two weeks today so not too long to wait.  Going from dread to, oh, it’s all going to be fine.   Mammogram is booked for 18th anyway wondering whether they’ll do it at the appointment now.  Will try to put it all out of my mind until then.   Hope you all have better weather than we do here.  Rain was forecast with possible flooding today but so far just strong winds and brass monkey cold, got heating cranked right up xx ... Happy Sunday, it’s horrible here, cold, wet and grey.  However have had a nice day so far.  Himself insisted on taking me out for lunch today to celebrate Wycombe Wanderers being promoted to the first division (football league for those of you like me who couldn’t give a flying F)  Home now and having a frothy coffee and going to catch up last nights Sky+ stuff, ie, Orange is the new black series, love it! Rubycat, you get the award for best pics/videos of the year if not century, where do you find them? Brilliant every time xx   Still no phone call about appointment with breast clinic, guess I’ll have to wait until next week now.  They did say on Wednesday I’ll get an appointment within 1-2weeks so thought I’d hear about date fairly soon.  Himself is more stressed than me now which is why I didn’t tell him in the first place, he can do without the added stress as he’s not too well, plus I can do without him fretting over me, then I fret over him, deep joy! So happy that you’re ok with everything Lee.  Good question about rads under the arm..  Enjoy the rest of your stay in NZ.   Horrible here too Helena, grey and drizzly and I also have been ironing, hate it.  No phone call yet re breast clinic appointment, was hoping to have heard by now.  Guess if I don’t hear soon I’ll have to wait until Monday as doubt I’ll get a call over the weekend.   Thanks for asking about my niece.  She’s been discharged from hospital. Mri scan showed it wasn’t a stroke after all but showed that she has had one in the past.  After lots of tests they’re still not sure and have referred her to an ENT specialist as maybe inner ear, she’s on blood thinning meds to prevent further strokes, alarming to think you can have one and not even know. Thank you lovely ladies, as always your support means a lot.  So glad youve got your appointment through Lady H, goes without saying everything crossed.   So silly, but I’ve been fretting for the last few weeks and not saying anything, just doing the ostrich thing and hoping if I ignore it it will go away.  Didn’t mention it to himself as didn’t want him worrying but he overheard me on the phone when the BC clinic phoned back,  I got a real ticking off.  He did say, he’s noticed that I’ve been holding the “poorly” boob a lot lately and it’s been playing on his mind.  To add to the stress, my niece in the USA had a stroke last night.  My poor sister is in pieces and wants to fly out but her son in law doesent want her to (less said about him the better).  Families eh!  Give me animals anyday    xx ... Hello gorgeous Willows,   Enjoyed Reading all your posts reminiscing about the old days. Coalman? That’s a new one on me, it was the decorators round my way.   Had my Look good feel better session this morning, enjoyed it and loved my goody bag.   Just off the phone to the Breast Clinic.  I asked if I could see someone after my mammogram on 18 May as nipple discharging and little lump I was told was a blocked milk gland is getting larger and changing colour.  Been told both need investigating and I’ll be given an appointment for a week to two weeks time, they’ll ring soon with time  and date.  Guess I’m now joining the anxious waiting game with Clair and Helena but hopefully  we’ll soon be in the field as fully fledged Neddys.   Real April weather here, sunshine and showers, grass needs cutting again already xx   ... Helena, so glad your gp is getting the ball rolling without delay for you, the sooner you can it sorted the better. Forgot to say,  my friends mum who had the bleed in her 70’s was on tamoxifen, it was a fairly newish drug back then.   Delly, lovely to hear from you and so pleased to hear that Beth is ok, well, as far as she can be with her mums Illness.  Of course there was her friends horrific murder by her stepson to deal with  too.  I read about it online (she lives fairly close to my sister so I keep upto date with the news in the area)  and it’s just too awful to even think about.   Well, that’s spring and summer over for the year, hope you all made the most of it xx ... Will be thinking of you tomorrow Lady H.  I do remember many years back a friends mum having a bleed  in her 70’s and she  freaked out not having had a period for 25 odd years.  Back in those days they just whipped her in hospital and did a D&C, they did say it wa quite common and used to sort it with a D &C, dont think they do them these days.  The big girl pants are doing over time at the  moment, lucky  the weathers good for drying them xx ... Pila Pala, thanks for the update, it’s reassuring for you and guess also for us worryguts.  I think for me now sleep is something of  a luxury, hey ho, I can live with that, when i get a few hours of uninterrupted sleep it’s like a win on the lottery,at least I havent got to get up at 6am for work aanymore so that’s a bo us, always a silver lining if you look hard Enough. Meant to say, Cazbo, my sympathies, I am a fellow headache and migraine sufferers.  I suffer from daily chronic headaches and although they’ve been going on for years, long before the BC they have got worse since so I know where you’re coming from.  When your head hurts so much you do start thinking the worse.  I just tell myself that they’ve been going on for 20 years now but when it’s raging you can’t stop yourself xx ... Hello all,   just noticed  thread and its made me feel better.  I regularly post on another thread where a group of us went through treatment more or less at the same time and rely on each other for comfort, support and laughs.  I too (although I don’t Mention it)  am lately getting more and more anxious about it coming back, every ache, pain and twinge anywhere in my body fills me with a sick feeling of dread.  Got my second mammogram coming up in a couple of weeks and am so worried about it, whereas I wasnt last year.  It’s good to know that a lot of us feel this way, it means it’s completely normal and to be expected.  Once again this site had reassured me xx ...
