Hello you gorgeous lot,   Havent been on for a while but not forgotten you, honest.  It’s been a pretty hectic time.  My sister has a pretty nasty health scare going on at the moment.  Mri scan booked next week followed up with appointment with gnae consultant.  Surgery def on the cards but hoping it’s just that and not lots of nasty treatment too.  Just back from a couple of days in Dorset keeping my friend company looking after her grandchildren while her daughter who has serious health issues to deal with is trying to sort things out as ex is trying snatch children.  Honestly, my life is bliss compared to what Ive witnissed others dealing with recently.   I have a chest infection at the moment but on antibiotics so they’ll soon kick it’s a***.     Delly, lovely to see you on here again.  Himself though suffering from this never ending heat is trying to claim back his garden. No chance it’s MINE now as long as I don5  have to cut the grass and due to the never ending blazing sun we don’t have any, just straw.   Right, time to start getting the beer and vino ready for the football.  I hate football normally but I am patriotic so will be watching tonight xx ... Hello all,   Been ages since I’ve bedn on here.  So much been happening.  Himself has been laid low with yet another chest/lung infection though thankfully on the mend now, plus other stuff I won’t bore you with.  It’s so flipping hot, no rain for I don’t know how long, both lawns are straw and watering the plants every night is exhausting.  Gone down with a summer cold, went all winter without one, now in this tropical heat, sore throat, temperature, aches pains and cough.  Feeling a bit better today thank goodness as I’m going to a friends birthday lunch to be held in her new revamped garden.   From reading your last comment Lady H I see Colin is not having a good time.  Hoping he improves soon, being in bed in this heat must be awful, bad enough at night with fan on full blast.  Stil, we always moan whatever the weather, it’s the law if you’re British.   Hoping all you other gorgeous Willows are ok xx ... Hugs to you Clair and hubbie,  why oh why are they so flipping laid back when it’s skmething really serious to do with their own health?  When it’s us they expect us to go and get it sorted pdq but themselves, oh no, different matter not realising g how much extra stress it causes us.  Now they now about the heart problem hopefully they’ll keep on top of things.   Ann,  not sure how long my gardening enthusiasm  will last, probably not thst long, it is hard work though have to say it is very rewarding seeing the things I planted flourishing, I’m a dab hand with secatuers  (probably a bit too enthusiastic) but not so keen on weeding xx ... Lady H, it was so many years ago I had mine, I think they gave me towels for the first couple of days when I had a very light bleed then, nothing, EVER again.  My cut was bikini line, right from side to side but so neat and it’s completely faded now, can’t see it all.  However, I did have a woman surgeon and had mentioned to her I was concerned about the scar, she told me not to worry I’d hardly notice it and she was right, once it healed and swelling and redness gone i5 was a very faint white line, and as I say it’s virtually disappeared over the years.   Turned up for second yoga session last night and the replacement teacher covering the beautiful French lady’s maternity leave didn’t bring mats (original teacher assured us mats provided) no way was I going to get down on a hard wooden floor.  My friend was most annoyed and told her so.  She told use to come next week and she wouldn’t charge us.  Will give her a try and if she’s ok I’ll bu6 my own mat but I’ve a feeling I’m not going to like her as much so will probably wait until September when the other comes back.   Yes, think I have got the gardening bug, not so keen on the weedingthough xx     ... Yes, probably best to lay off the chocs or you’ll put on weight due to laying around.  Having said that, I actually lost weight after my hysterectomy and during recovery.  I did quite a bit of walking after the first week, just round the block to start with and increasing a bit each day, all on the flat though as even the slightest incline pulled.  It really helped my recovery.     Himself is doing really well  (hope I’m not tempting fate saying so). He’s still in a fair bit of pain but it’s tolerable and he’s not taking any painkillers at all now.  He even did a little bit in the garden in Sunday, just a bit of trimming.  I got quite narked as I’m getting possessive over the garden.  He went out lunctime for a couple of hours today as it was an old friends birthday and I spent the time snipping away with secateurs and gave a few shrubs a short back and sides.  He won’t be happy when he notices but I’m in charge now.  Never thought I’d actually  enjoy it but it is very therapeutic xx ... Just popped in to say a quick hello and learned that lovely Lafy H is to have a hysterectomy.  Guess another op is the last thing you need at the moment H, but personally for me it was a blessing when I had mine.  Having said that, I was in my mid 30’s so got over it quickly and enjoyed the break from work.  Back in those days (dark ages) I was cut right across, so recovery time was about 12 weeks, these days they usually do keyhole surgery.  So sorry you’ve got to go through more surgery after everything youve been through, just hope it’s soon so you can spend your recovery time resting in the sun.   Clair, hope your feeling better after your incident at work.  It must be awful having a job you love but at the same time worrying because it’s putting you at risk.  Hoping lympthadema clinic have given you an appointment or at least advice xx ... OUch Clair, not good, you’ll probably  be on edge on the time now, I know I would be worried it will happen again.   Really enjoyed my yoga session, taught by a stunning French ladybut it’s her last class until end of September as shes due to give birth anyday so new teacher until then from next week. Oh boy, did I feel my age though.  I used to be so supple as was shocked to find out how much core strength I’ve lost, though have to say I was still a lot “bendier” than some of the younger ladies there.  However, balance has never been my strong point and now forget it. This standing on one leg, even with my hip leaning on a table, no chance.  AND despie the curry lunch no wind problem.   Still lovely weather here so no excuse not to get outside and tackle the weeds xx ... So glad you enjoyed your birthday Lady H, sounds like you were as spoiled as you deserve to be.  You share a birthday with my niece.   Tomorrow I’m out for a curry lunch with a friend then in the evrning I’m starting a yoga class with another friend, pity the poor person behind me!  Expect Ruby could come up with an appropriate pic for that.  Many years ago, over 32 as it was before I was married the same  friend and I used to do an aerobics class and she used to be in hysterics as I was always moving in the wrong direction and causing chaos but not even realising it as I was so intent.  Let’s hope I’ve improved, I certainly won’t be leaping about l8ke I was in those days.   Hope you’re all enjoying the lovely weather we’ve still got.  Had a 20 minute shower yesterday evening and that was it.  The only downside is now I’m the house gardener is the flipping watering that needs doing xx ... Get you Clair, coolest mum on the block, you’ve still got it.   Was out last night was my ex colleagues leaving himself home alone again.  He had blood test Thursday, Inr was 6.3, they were not happy, said if he has a fall or even a bump he’s at high risk and needs to go to A&E immediately for a scan, no  warfarin for 3 days, then half dose and back for another test Thursday.  Now he won’t take his painkillers as he’s worried about it.  Having said that, without them he’s moaning and groaning about as much as he was taking them a week ago so guess he’s improving.   Got him outside again today on the patio, he started fretting about the garden so moi bravely got the hedge trimmer going, ok it’s cordless but still too heavy for a pipsqueak like me.  Can’t tell you how relieved I was when it ran out of battery.  I did manage without lopping anything off myself) to trim 5 shrubs, then got secateurs out, did a bit of weeding and oh boy am I shattered, far too hot for this gardening lark.  As far as I’m concernec gardens are for sitting in with a good book and a drink.   Hope you’ve all had the lovely weather we’ve had here.  My sister flies home for the States on Wednesday when the month long heatwave is due to end, typical, as soon as she got on the plane 4 weeks ago the sun came out and hadn’t gone in since.  She’s been looking after her daughter in North Carolina but flew to Florida to stay with her son for a few days and While  his neighbour was walking her dog by a lake, an alligator came out, tried to snatch her dog, she tried to save her dog and the flipping thing grabbed her by the leg, no trace of her remains have been fo7nd so far.  The worse thing we have to worry about is being stung by a wasp, still say the UK is the best place in the world to live xx ... Lee, if it’s any consolation a woman I was speaking to recently at a BC support group meeting said she stopped the cold cap after a couple of sessions because it was awful, she said the chemo (which she had been dreading) wasn’t so bad but the cold cap was.  Sending hugs down under to you xx ... Good evening,   Quick pop in, I’m shattered.  Helena, so glad scan is done, mri is pretty scary, I kept m6 eyes closed the whole time I was in 5hefe, knew if I opened  them I’d panic.  Hope you don’t have to wait too long for results.   What a fantastic  day I’ve had.  Brick Lsne music hall is a lovely old converted church.  It’s so over the top, it’s worth going just to look inside without the lovely meal and fabulous show.  It was a 50’s and 60’s show, bought  back memories of my  youth with songs around when I was a teenager still at school, ie mamas and papa, Mary Quant and Biba clothes and  lots of comedy moments thrown in, havent laughed so much  ages.  Himself is about the same, no better, no worse.  He’s due a blood test tomorrow and I said that I’d  phone and ask someone to come to the house and do it but he’s insisting he can get to the hospital.  If he makes himself worse in the attempt he can jolly well look after himself and I’ll pack away my nurse outfit and spend my time gardening, yes, I am getting the bug xx     ... Ruby, I love that, thank you.  I told himself earlier that you’d come up with a good pic to celebrate my admitance to the paddock.  Just took my iPad into the mancave to show him but the meds (thank heavens for small mercies) have knocked him out .  Think I’ll take myself off to bed too, up early for chiro in the morning.  Wednesday I’m off to Brick Lane in London, lunch then theatre, won’t be home until about 8pm so will be a late dinner for him but think  he’s recovered enough now to survive  a day on his own, perfectly able to make a cup of tea now and I’ll leave him sarnies etc in the fridge. Lee, sending big hugs to you.  Enjoy your lunch with girlfriends.  You’ve got a journey ahead of you and I’m sure they will be holding your hand along with your family and us lot will ge too albeit virtually xx   Postman has just been, yippee, move over Neddies and make room for one more.  I cannot tell you how relieved  I am, was so anxious this time.  Himself has just told he too has been worrying about it.  He had a good day yesterday, sat on the patio for a  couple of hours in the morning before it got too hot aand after managed a shower standing up (he’s been on his knees in there’s until now). I was so proud pointing out my gardening achievements.  I’ve planted all the wall pots plus the couple of flower beds we have left, weeded and pruned and generally kept things tidy, just need the bloke to come and cut the grass this week, I’m feeling very smug xx ... Janey, fabulous news on both your Neddie status and lovely daughter’s imlroving health.  Now you greedy lot, make sure you save some hay for me.   Ann, thank you for permission to be selfish.  I did enjoy a couple of hours break yesterday, went to pharmacy for his meds then had a late lunch with a friend (plus a couple of vinos) and it did me the world of good.  Back to the groaning, yelping and labour panting noises.  Poor thing he didn’t get a wink of sleep last night, why is it pain is always worse at night?   Wishing you all a lovely bank holiday weekend, and expect your off next week for half term Clair?  If so enjoy xx ... Whoop, Jo, get into the paddock with the other Newfie, so happy for you.  Hopefully I’ll be along soon, week today I had my breasts clamped so bit too soon to hear.   Ann, sorry you’re having a rough time, my sympathies.  Unless, unlike me you’re cut out to be nurse, I most certainly am not!  Himself has gone down down since being discharged from hospital, breathing not too good and pain very bad. He’s coughing a lot which is agony, and of course the pain meds are not as much as his was getting in there while he was under supervision, plus he was on oxygen and a nebuliser which really helped.  I know it’s awful of me but the constant groaning, sudden yelps, puffing (like woman do in labour) and coughing is wearing me down, it’s bliss when he drops off to sleep but that only last for minutes at a time because as soon as he moves it sets the pain off.  He refuses to take the morphine except at night, just relying on the pills. ive got to go out shortly to pick up more medication from the pharmacy in town which the doc is sending and I can’t wait to get out, I feel so selfish but I need a break.   Janey, hope your lovely daughter is on the mend xx ...
