Thank you for sharing your experience with me Beebs. It’s truly appreciated. i guess being frighted of the unknown is natural. I am meditating an awful lot these days and it helps me. Meditation is not for everyone but I found it has kept me calm and focused in the moment and not trying to sort out things I have no control over. I have put my trust in the medical team and hope they do the best for me. Xx

Dear Jennie60 and Gillyflower, thank you so much for your response, which is very much appreciated.... I am still in shock, scared and feel this is all happening to someone else. I guess I need to give my self time as you have already said. I am afraid I might remain in this state until the end, when ever that may be... so thank you both for letting me know that things do feel better once treatment is in place. My oncologist said that she wanted to delay starting Palbociclib due to Coronavirus. I have had my first Fulvestrant and next two are due 27th May and 10th June. I live alone and do not go out other than for a short walk, food is delivered. Does anyone know, Is there any reason I couldn’t start the Palbociclib now, other than if my white blood cells are low.. I told my daughter in Australia this morning and like you Jennie60 I have told her that I will tell her everything when I know... thank you ladies for your responses, very much appreciated. Xx

Good morning, I have been diagnosed with secondaries this week. I am not surprised but it’s still a shock. I was diagnosed with primary back in November 2016 and had a lumpectomy, chemo and radio. I had CT scan for another issue recently and they noticed nodules on my lung, another CT scan followed after 3 months which confirmed changes to the nodes which are apparently very small so they cannot be biopsied. I was told I would start on Course of Fulvestrant and Palbociclib. Infact I was given the 1st of 3 Fulvestrant Injections straight away but the Palbociclib will follow as they are concerned about Covid19 at the moment. I worry how these new drugs will affect me. Will they work? Will they shrink the little blighters? I haven't been on the site since Feb/March 2017 shortly after I was diagnosed with primary in November 2016. I met so many lovely ladies who were in a similar situation to me, we went through chemo and radiotherapy together and have remained friends with many of them. I am still coming to terms with this new diagnosis and back to all the waiting again.... the treatment will be on going and scans etc with no end. How do you ladies cope with this new way of life?. I am encouraged by reading that many are living longer with cancer these days but I am find it hard at the moment to get my head around it. Lots of love Xx

Hi Lisa, I know you don't to Facebook so I just dropped by to say Hi. The fatigue is bad at times and I am now finding that I am tired all the time even during the week leading up to my next chemo... Jo is a fantastic source of information and advice and has helped me a great deal... there are times that you need to give in and do what your body is telling you and rest.... I find the mornings better so if I am planning a anything I tried and get it done early so I can then rest in the afternoon... as Jo says keep swimming! Take care. Ann x

Evening Claire, I guess so..... many of us are keeping diaries I have found this useful as I am referring back and finding my bad days are the same days...... be kind to yourself and take time out when you don't feel too good.... I have found that when I feel better and try to do something but then i am worn out... listen to your body...good luck tomorrow. Xxx

Dear Ladies, you all rock...I have been following you all but fInding it difficult to reply. I have been such a wimp the last few weeks and I apologise for not being in touch. I suffered a few SE after chemo No 1 on 2nd February but not too bad and I have been feeling my old self this last week, apart from the fatigue.... on the other hand I have been suffering from anxiety. I am still finding it difficult accepting what is happening to me and I have almost lost all of my hair..... My scalp is sore and itchy.... thank you all for being there it has been a great help and comfort to me... I see we have been joined by several ladies in my absence. 'Welcome' to you all and sorry that you find yourselves here but we have a very supportive and special group of ladies... I am ready for round 2 tomorrow. Hey max, my chemo buddy, how are you doing? Hope your side effects were few... will drop a line on our Fab February FB page too.... love to all xxxx

Dear Ladies, this is my second attempt at sending you a message this evening as the earlier one disappeared into the cyber world….. was I mad! So all went well today with my first chemo cycle and the staff at the hospital put me at ease straight way as soon as I arrived despite my emotion and tears. FEC - 1 down 5 to go Yaay! I feel weird/odd with a slight headache but otherwise fine. Have been given plenty of anti sickness tablets, so hopefully I will be sorted in that department. I have lots of ginger things in the cupboard from biscuits to drinks and fresh ginger for my hot water, lemon, ginger and Manuka honey drinks which I have been taking for some months now. Jo: thanks for the tips about the ginger products. I do have most of them but will get some Haribo tangtastics… please try to find me on FB Antonina Cannatella Anderson not sure which Joanne Coward you were. Maria: I was feeling down last week as I had a cold and I delayed my chemo but we have to brave this thing together. I also was experiencing breathing problems last week. I do think it was symptoms of the anxiety as it is not a problem this week. If you are still worried call your BCN who I am sure can help you. Tessa, I am good with the FB group page but don’t know how to do this. But agree we stlll need to keep the posts running on this thread….. thanks for the great tips re fibre food Max: my chemo buddy how you doing? I was just leaving the hospital when you arrived. I decided not to cold cap. I was interested to read about your genetic testing. I am worried about my daughter. My mum has had BC twice in her early 60’s and early 70’s there were no lymph node involvement on both occasion and now me…. My mum is 85, suffers with some arthritis but is still going strong… Pinkloz: welcome to the February 2017 thread. Keep in touch and I hopefully you will have picked some tips up already. If not just ask we will do our best to help you. Zena: so sorry you are still feeling rubbish. I hope you went shopping with the Kardashians in Dubai! And they paid!......... I have been on a light diet for the past 48 hours. My mum made me a chicken broth with veg, carrots, onions celery and parsley. Put it in a large pot and boil away for an hour. I just drank the broth until this evening and where I slowly eating some veg too…. You can add pasta to it too if you wish. Hope this helps. We had broth as kids, when we were not well so I love it and I feel it will make better. It did when I was young. Let’s hope it works again…. Dear Lovely Ladies, Maria, Jojo, Jo, Zena, Sparky, Max, Jules, Swampy, Tessa and Sallyann.. Hope I have not missed anyone. I am sorry I have not been online past couple of days. I have been trying to settle in with my family prior to the start of my chemo tomorrow. I now have mobile broadband until I can arrange something more permanent here at my parents home in Cardiff. I live in the South East (Sussex) but I am originally from Cardiff and left in my early 20's to work for British Airways at Heathrow Airport, as a secretary. In 1979 I started flying as cabin crew with Britannia Airways and I was there for 15 years. Most of my working life was in the aviation industry and I "retired" in September 2016 as an aviation recruitment manager. Following my divorce in May 2016 I decided to take 3 months off and then travel to Australia to see my daughter and move back home to Wales. I have worked for over 40 years so I thought a 3 month holiday was not a lot to ask for.... Well that thought was rudely interrupted by my diagosis on 24 November 2016. A date that will never be forgotten. I guess not many people will forgot the date and the face of person who gave them the news...... Got my wig and had my hair cut short today. Also had a light chicken broth diet today hopefully it will help with the nausea and I plan to eat the same tomorrow. So I am ready for chemo tomorrow I guess. Reading through the posts I see I have forgotten to get some Aloe Vera Juice! Maria, I hope you are coping well and I will be thinking of your tomorrow. If my memory serves me correctly you start your chemo tomorrow too, Jo, how are you doing after your first Chemo session Zena, my cabin crew partner! Hope you are doing ok and nausea is getting better. Julie: I appear to be the only one that has not been to Ironbridge. Hope you are feeling better... Tessa, Welcome, hope you are feeling better. Just checking in ladies... read your posts.. I am now in Cardiff with my family ready for my fight... I don't have broadband so my posts for a couple of weeks may be limited. ZENA, sorry you are going through it at the moment... be strong we are with you. I am dreading the nausea too.... I am planning a light/fasting diet day before and day of chemo hopefully that will help... we will see if it works.. hugs and lots of love xx
