Hello lovely brave ladies,     Maria 12, Thank you and good luck to you too on the 8th.  Do you have a date for your surgery yet?   Julie, thank you for your lovely message.  A fellow country woman, how lovely and looking forward to getting to know you. I am from Cardiff originally and after 40 years I am going home.  I know St Fagans and I am planning on buying a house in Rhoose Point just by the sea with lovely country walks close by.  I am moving in with my parents for the time being as they live in Whitchurch Cardiff, just a mile away from Velindre Hospital where I will have my Chemo and Radio Therapy treatment. To say I was scared would be an understatement but its got to be done I suppose. It's encouraging that you did not find the first Chemo session too bad.  Did you cold cap?  I am not sure whether I will do it or not.  I will see.  I am not very good at these forums but I will do my best to keep intouch.   Mrsorangecat, thanks for your lovely welcome I have been "watching" in the background for a few weeks.  This site is amazing for the support it provides. Hope your mum's tea party goes well and you enjoy the cakes!   Jo C,Thanks for your kind words.... In my 60 years I can honestly say I have not suffered with anxiety.  The past 3 years I have been so anxious for one reason and another and now this!!  I will try to keep coming back on the site but I do find it hard to keep up.   Zena75, what a brave lady you are. I have read some of your posts on other threads and was pleased to see we are Chemo buddies.... I hope to be as brave as you over the course of the next few months.  My first Chemo session will be next Thursday 2nd Feb .  I dont know anything yet but I will on Monday when I have my Pre Chemo session.  Can you take someone with you to these Pre Chemo meetings?   Apologies if I have missed anyone I will catch up soon I will be travelling to Cardiff tomorrow to start this journey none of us really want to be on...... but we can do it together... :-)).     Jules and Zena hope you both have a good day tomorrow.   Hugs for you all    Ann xx   ... Hi Ladies   If I may join you as I will be starting my Chemo next week on 2nd February.   Just a little about me I am 60 years old and was diagnosed on 24th November 2016 with Grade 2 BC and one lymph node involvement.  The Grade changed to a 3 after the operation on 5 December  but no further lymphnode involvment and my super duper surgeon managed to get clear margins and did a fantastic job.  Since my operation I have not been coping well, anxiety, depression etc....  I am sure you ladies know exactly what I am talking about.     I live in the Sussex area and selling my house and was due to move to South Wales before my diagnosis, which I still plan to do.   I had my op in Surrey/Sussex hospital but as I live alone in Sussex and all my family are in Wales I am moving down there temporarily and will be having my chemo and radio therapy in Cardiff so I can be supported and taken care of by my family, until my house sells.   I must admit I am terrified and have been encouraged by your posts.....   I pick up my wig on Monday morning then I have my Chemo Education session Monday afternoon, Clinic on Tuesday and Chemo on Thursday.     I will do my best to keep in touch and keep up but I find it difficult using my phone and I get very lost with all the messages posted....  I guess it's getting old and by the sounds of it the chemo will not help my aging brain!!   Looking forward to going through this journey with you strong Ladies. 🙂   Ann xx   ... Dear lovely ladies   I just wanted to pop in and say Hi to you all... some of you very kindly came to my rescue when I was first diagnosed in late November and for a few days following my operation.   EMJ 60 Emily T Silverlady Strudel Ladybowler Lily59 Treeze   I hope I have not left anyone out!   I have been lurking in the background and following you all and reading your posts.  Some made me laugh, some scared me but generally I have enjoyed the banter you ladies have.  I am sorry I dropped out but I was not coping very well with one thing and another. I guess I am not the only one not coping but I found it diffifcult to reply and keep up with you all on the other thread.    I am managing better now and   thought I would say Hi and a huge THANK YOU to all of you who helped me early on.     Just before Christmas my daughter came over from Australia and stayed for a month so she only left last week.   I struggled with coming to terms with this blasted curse and my daughter did not make it easy for me.  I felt that her trip here was more of a jolly than taking care of/or being with me. We  went to stay with my family in Wales and although my daughter joined me, things were strained so she went to stay with her dad (we divorced last year after a 2 year separation)...   What peed me off was the fact that I paid for her to come from Australia and all we could do is argue with me and said I only had BC and lots of people get it and they manage!...... In between all of this I was having CT and Bone Scans and results etc.... I found it difficult to cope.       Before this curse hit me I had my house on the market (I live in Sussex) and was planning to sell up and move to Wales (where I was born and bred), which I still plan to do.    This has complicated things a bit as I had my surgery in Surrey/Sussex but my treatment will be in Cardiff.  I have a big family in Cardiff who will take care and support me during my Chemo and radiotherapy treament over the next few months.  Hopefully my house will sell soon so I can then move permamently!  I hope to buy a house on the South Wales coast and I really want to live by the sea.  So I hope you ladies will come and visit me when you decide to take your seaside visit!     Anyhow thank you again and hope you dont mind we gate crashing!   I am going to jump on the Starting Chemo Feburary 2017 thread shortly to meet up with the lovely fighters over there.  My first Chemo session is next week on 2nd February and I am terrified.....   Anyway I am waffling now....   Thanks again ladies and good luck and best wishes to you all.   Ann xx ... Hi Nicki, my heart goes out to you..... I don't come on to the website often either but I do read the posts. I am sure one of the more experienced ladies will come along shortly and offer support. Also I would suggest calling BCC and speak directly with one of the experienced nurses.  They are lovely.... I spoke to the BCC nurse on line when I was first diagnosed and it calmed me a lot.  I am alone too, I don't have a partner but I do have an army of friends and family supporting me but I still feel alone!...  The anxiety is crippling I know, especially early in the diagnosis and I now have better days and the bad days are becoming less often  as things move along...    I am newly diagnosed (late Nov) with grade 3 IDC with one lymph node involvement, i had my op early December to have the tumour removed and I am just waiting for the results of my CT and bone scan, early indications show they may be clear but I wil know more tomorrow when I see the oncologist. Hello all you lovely ladies, I have been out of it for a while but following the messages and laughing at some of your posts. I am still struggling with anxiety. I have my second appointment with oncologist on 12th Jan the one I saw on 29th Dec is leaving the Trust 😀, so appointment with another oncologist has been made. Waiting for results of CT and bone scans... will get results on 12th Jan. Strudel, how are you doing? I remember we had our oPs on the same day... thank you so much again to all you ladies who sent me encouraging messages of support recently. Dear ladies I was encouraged by several of you lovely ladies to join this thread before Christmas but I have been so busy worrying and stressing I found it hard to chat to you ladies... I had my op on 6th December to remove the tumour and waiting for results of my CT scan and bone scan... I am terrified... staging needs to be confined too. I saw oncologist last week who said I have Grade 3 cancer but only one lymph node involvement... I had 17 lymphs removed all clear except for that one!! Why can't j feel positive about this?? My next appoint on 12 Jan to get the results... I should have a detailed plan of my chemo treatment to.... I am still suffering from anxiety and it's crippling me. I have a very large supportive family but I continue to torture myself... help xxxxx ... View more

Emily T, hope all went well with your op last week. I got the results of my op 17 lymph node removed only ONE was positive. I am pleased but still worrying about that one.... CT scan planned for this Friday so anxiety up again and seeing the oncologist in 29th Dec.... hope all you supportive ladies out there are doing good and looking forward to Christmas. 🤗🤗. Hugs ... Hi All, Sorry about the repeat message. Lol. Not sure what happened there. Jane, I am so pleased with the speed of my treatment so far... my consultant has been amazing. I was diagnosed in 24th Nov and operated on 5th Dec with a couple of changes and clinic appointments in between. I have heard that some can wait up to a month from diagnosis to op... my boob not too bad but still on the pain killers.
