Hi everyone, Hope you're all OK and that PICCs, 2nd rounds and bloods have all gone well. I'm at work today, actually in the office, feeling all normal and stuff so I've just snuck on here... Ruth, same happened to me today and also 2 weeks late it sucks, was hoping to get away with them during chemo. Still at least Day 13 is going well considering 1st chemo was Friday 13th lol. Rach x

I’m not sure if the Hickman and a portacath are the same thing but it was done under local and sits under my skin so no trouble at all and no outlet to the outside world. I opted out of the sedation though as everything makes me queasy 😳😳 and even that was fine.

Hi. Ignore me if you already know this but WBC is the white blood cell count. White blood cells are made of if 5 types, neutrophils being the main one helping to fight infection. Below 1 is neutropenia (according to the US cancer site) so I’m guessing that the limit of 1.4 is a healthy level for your next chemo.

Jelly, that doesn’t sound right but some of the antisickness meds can have that effect. If you’re still on them maybe they could change the type.

Hi Ruth, meds are metoclopramide. Cassie, I used lactulose post chemo and that was ok. Bloods came back ok but seems the immodium to counteract the erythromycin wore off whilst at the hospital 😱. I'm now waiting to feel 'well' enough to go home. Honestly, by the time this treatment is all over I'll have no shame left😁😁 Dizzy xx

Hi everyone, Sat in the hospital at the minute waiting for my blood results to come back but feeling normal 😁 so fingers crossed. The new antisickness meds seem to be doing the job. I actually managed to get up and sort my kitchen out this morning. Never thought I'd be happy to do housework. My husband's been a diamond though. I hope everyone's feeling better and having good day! 🌌🌌🎆🎇🌈💃

Hi everyone, Back from hosp again. Apparently the antibiotics they gave me yesterday have increased my nausea. Still a new set of anti sickness meds so here’s hoping 😁 Jencat I hope you feel better soon, what day are you on? Happy shopping to everyone going. Birmingham’s good for me as I’ve still loads of family there but happy to travel elsewhere. Love and hugs to everyone!

I’m picking up more meds tomorrow but not sure if it’s just more DP. That’ll do for now. I’m really kind of hoping it passes soon, they did say up to day 5 but I’m nothing if not consistent.

Hi Shi, I got quite a cocktail to use for the first three days but I’m left with just domperidone. Sounds like there are some stronger ones that might do the job. I was given levo too but that just knocked me out and only for the first 3 days. Rach x

Hi sue, I’ve got a portacath. Don’t know if it’s the same but it’s no bother. Just sits under the skin on my chest between neck and shoulder. I hate needles and find it much easier to deal with. It makes giving blood a cinch. I’ve been in twice this week to have my bloods tested due to one thing and another and it takes seconds rather than the minutes of arm slapping and clenching followed by the routing around to get the vein. Thanks for the anitsickness med advice too, here I am in day 8 still nauseous!
