Thanks ladies... I think now chemo is starting to reach an end I am now starting to worry about surgery and having a huge shock with the path results! Good to hear that micro mets isn’t classed as positive nodes though - thanks Rabbit! I will definitely speak with my surgeon when I see him though. Ladies — I have become totally obsessed with ‘lymph nodes’. I have never had any kind of biopsy and have only been told that my lymph nodes ‘look’ clear on my MRI/CT/ultrasound. So what actually constitutes as lymph node involment? Am I going to end up having a nasty shock after surgery and find out that all of my nodes had cancer cells in them but it was too small to see? Everyone I speak to has had their sentinel node biospy and this wasn’t offered to me before I started chemo. I also keep hearing about ‘micromets’ In lymph nodes... does this class a as a positive node?? Can anyone in this group offer some advice? Funnily enough my oncologist said to me last time around that he wouldn’t want to be on the drugs I’m on 😂 😂 ... 🙈 🙈 Emend seems to be the only one I havnt been on. I started on metoclopramide, had domperidone, then switched to a couple this time around (can’t remember the names) but one melts on the gum and the other is taken before bed and makes you super drowsy. I was told the same thing about my digestive tract being my weak spot... I’m also suffering from acid, vile taste in the mouth and I literally cannot stomach the sight of any kind of drink .. so I’m probably doing myself no favours as im struggling to get the liquids in, I’m Day 9 now and Iv literally pushed my dinner to one side again. 😩 😩 😩 I keep saying that it’s only 2 more to go and I WILL do it (not without moaning though!!) but in my eyes it’s still 20 more days of nausea and feeling so sick. Runawaygirl - please don’t think you are being a wuss. I have literally cried after every single treatment with how rubbish it makes me feel. For me the nausea is playing a huge factor in that and I too have a meeting next week regarding a plan of action for the next 2 rounds of treatment. For me it should be another change up of the anti sickness meds and hopefully something a bit stronger that I can start before treatment. Rather than reduce the dose can they juggle your meds a bit to try and alleviate the side effects for you? With 2 to go you have done amazing so far xxx ... View more

Morning ladies - SEs still lingering, mainly the lack of taste buds now. I’m a week post round 4 so hoping that tomorrow/Thursday is better. I was given some anti sickness to take before bed that make you drowsy... it was the best night sleep Iv had in months!! 😂 Unicorn mummy - I started on Metoclopramide too (I’m still on it) but each cycle seems to be doing less and less and I was given some other new ones yesterday to take. Mamadeacs id definitely see if you can push your chemo back a couple of days. Mine was delayed by 5 days during round 3 and they didn’t seem to be bothered by that. Will give your body a few extra days too... 💖 Chaffinch17 - I’m on Herceptin. I started it with my 1st round of chemo. I’m having 18 rounds of it I believe? Iv been told the side effects are pretty minimal in comparison to chemo. Although it currently gives me a sore runny nose. Will be able to tell more once the other drugs stop though! Moijan- I have been suffering with nausea too. Every round has got worse and worse to the point where I ended up having an anti sickness injection today and some new tablets that dissolve in the mouth?? I have heard that they are sometimes the last thing to go BUT are usually the first to come back.... Hope round 4 went ok Unicorngirl- I had mine on Tuesday and I’m feeling it today! Hey Cathsin... to be honest im not 100% sure (seeing oncologist tomorrow!). The nurse read out the info on the phone and I get the impression that nothing can been seen on the MRI anymore. Still need to finish my 3 rounds of chemo and then have surgery as I’m guessing they will need to check for any active cells. I’m pleased though that chemo seems to be doing something though— makes the rubbish days feel worth it! Xx ... View more

Ah that’s fab news Kirsty! Glad you can go home! Mamadeacs - I had bad days pelvic and back pain on my first round of treatment. I’m on Docetaxel for 6 rounds. I have found it easier though and I’m on my 4th round tomorrow. I couldn’t take co-codamol as I’m allergic to codeine but I took ibruprofen. It worked ok.. but still felt quite painful at times. I had the results of my midway scan and I have had a complete radiological response which I’m amazed at. Makes this treatment seem more bearable after all! I feel a little bit happier going into round 4 tomorrow!! 😊 xx ... View more
