HiLiz Im 51 was diagnosed in February. IDC sounds similar to myself. I’m scared of dentist but actually found the general anaesthetic actually ok . Felt sore for few days but healed really quickly. Have found the waiting for results hard . But we all get there . You will too . I was out shopping on Sunday 3 days after operation felt bit tender . Enjoy your holiday. Hi  I felt exactly the same . I waited 8 weeks for lumpectomy thought I was going mad . Operation done wasn’t half as bad as I thought. Was lucky to get clear margins and clear lymph nodes . Waiting for radiotherapy now . But the waiting is the worst part ! This forum helped me  so much . We are all in same boat 🙈 You will get there . We all have with lots tears and it’s normal! Hi  I’m exactly same diagnosis as yourself and do feel lucky. Didn’t think that at the beginning . I have been off since February. Operation was end April. I mentally could not have coped with my job as I deal with public. I’m not going back till after radiotherapy. Maybe a month after to make sure I’m ready . In my job if you go back and are off again it counts as another absence. So no point just taking the 6 months and hopefully I’ll be ready to go back . But you have to do what’s right for you .
