Yes BCC please tell us: are you trying to do something about this or have you decided it is not possible? Also you promised to see if you could move the Older Women's thread to the Talking to People Like Me section where the Younger Women's stuff is so that people have a better chance of finding it. Sukimk - Sorry nobody has replied. Threads in this forum are very difficult to keep track of so maybe, like me, they just didn't see your post. I hope your RT went OK - wasn't it starting Thu? If I were you I wouldn't wait for your Occupational Health to contact you but call them yourself and also keep in touch with your management at work to let them know what's going on. Don't try to go back until you feel ready.

Eloquently written, ss, but I must take issue with you on a couple of points: 1. 'my cancer isn't a hobby, or an interest' - neither is any of our cancers, except that maybe if we can help someone get through it we will do what we can. 2. 'for some people their illness defines them, it's a badge they're proud to wear..I'll never be proud of having had cancer. It's s**t and i don't want it.' - why would anyone be proud to have had cancer? Nobody I have ever met has been, and none of us 'want' it. Hope this doesn't offend you, because no offence is intended.

For such a supposedly intellient woman she seems to be oblivious of the fact that by using her cancer experience as the basis for her book it is she who is wearing it as a badge. If her cancer wasn't that big a deal why hasn't she just moved on and written about something else unrelated to BC?

happy73 - I still get sudden feelings of extreme fatigue, usually in the afternoon or early evening, and put it down to the anastrozole which I'm on. If you can, the best thing is just to have a rest, even a short nap when you need it. I found that when I just came out and told friends and family how I felt they were very understanding and don't mind if I cancel arrangements when I feel tired. I am not working so I admit that makes things easier too!

Arimidex costs so much more because the company who manufactures them are the ones who discovered the drug so they have to recover the cost of their research. P.S. I had trouble with the Accord brand too - terrible mood swings. The chemist now always gives me the Teva brand which seems to agree with me better.

I agree with you, cornishgirl - we definitely need an easily identifyable section for discussion of current issues/hot topics. Here is a case in point - just by accident I discovered a post by jenanne linking to a very interesting article in the New York Times. But where was it hidden? In the Living With and Beyond BC, subsection Living With BC, thread Please Read - Food for Thought. Few people are ever going to find it there except by chance, which is a shame.
