Hi, Livia47, Firstly I'm sorry you have a reason to post on this site. There is a great bunch of people on here that are really supportive, so keep posting. I am 35 and my diagnosis is similar to yours the tumour was smaller at 1cm, grade 3, 2/22 lymph nodes contained cancer, I had a WLE and all the lymph nodes removed. I have just completed 6 cycles of chemo and have had a week of rads and have 2n half weeks left of them. The cancer was also HER+++ and ER+ so I am also having a drug called Herceptin for a year and Tamoxifen for 5 years. My medical team made the decision to remove the cancer first then I had all treatment, different medical teams have different ways of treating each individual, I'm sure your medical team will do everything to treat you the way that they see best. I understand your head must be in a complete whirlwind and it takes time to get your head around it all, but just take one step at a time, try not to google as there is a lot of sites on the web that give wrong information try to stick to sites such as this one and cancer research uk. I drive myself silly with worry, and get so upset about it, I have spoken to the BCN she told me to see my GP which I did he had me doing exercises by putting arms above head etc... and thinks it's muscular?? You are right I think my Onc is the only one who could reassure me, I mentioned it to my chemo nurse yesterday and she was going to mention it to my Onc, I have my next appt with her after my radiotherapy which doesn't start till the 11th July? Will speak to the nurses tomorrow as have my last Chemo to see if they mentioned it to my Onc. This BC just scares you so much doesn't it!! Thank you again for posting, I hope you are doing okay? You are right, should I worry cause I have had a ct/bone scan back in Feb, but I'm a complete worrier and I am debating in my mind "did I or did I not have this pain before the scans? Hi everyone, sorry not been on for a while, my partner works away so when he is back home we make a point of getting out and about etc... He has gone away working again now: ( Hope you are all doing okay? I had a quick read of all your posts, will catch up later!!! I am also having the hot thing with TAX have to have windows open, also the steroids don't help with the hot flushes!! Well got my last TAX tomorrow then it's just Herceptin till May next year, got my dates for Rads start 11th July, set up scan is on the 23rd June. I have been freaking out abit lately as have this tender bruised pain on my affected side on shoulder blade, it only hurts to touch and if I lean on it, I phoned my BCN she didn't feel me with confidence by just saying "umm maybe see your gp then if he thinks it's anything he will refer you, no reassurance or anything considering I was abit upset on the phone I thought she might of been abit more sympathetic??? I saw my gp he had me doing all these arm stretches, hitting me on the back etc to she if it hurt, he thinks it's muscular or maybe from surgery?? You know what its like you just always think the worst, I'm still not convinced, has anyone who has had surgery yet had this??? It doesn't hurt all the time only if I touch it stretch my arm, lean on something and it's just a bruised feeling not an ache? Sorry I've gone on abit about this... Will have a read up abit later. Hi Manny, I totally agree with you, I had not long stopped breastfeeding when I discovered a lump and I to thought it was a blocked milk duct and didnt go and see my gp straight away, during breastfeeding I got mastitus in my right breast which is the breast I found the tumour in. I remember so many people saying and reading articles about breast feeding reducing the risk of breast cancer as well as other things, so yes breast health is soo important to this group of women as well as everyone else. I am not saying for a minute that breastfeeding was what caused the cancer but since being on this forum there seems to be so many women who are affected to who were/are breastfeeding, and awareness of how to check your breasts when they are going through breast feeding as to what is normal and what is not should be encouraged. I cannot stand for long, ibuprofen works tho, I have the streamy eyes, runny nose but I am sooo pleased the sickness/nausea is on way near as bad as FEC!! Enjoy the Sun (not too much dont get burnt) Sun is out here but is a little windy!! x Adi - Oh bless you with your hair, mine was itchy when it was falling out abd I had a bit of dry skin for a while, a light moisturiser helped, hope your energy picks up x Sal - Oh bless you with your picc line, but hey excellent about your last one on Thursday, Well done x Donna P - Well done for finishing, I bet it is such a relief x Al - I also have the frizzy chick fluff aswell, trying to see what colour it is coming through as? Hi all, Hope you all doing okay? Sorry not been on for a while. I am abit fed up at the mo as Oncologist has now told me that it would be advisable for me to have no more children as I run a high risk of the cancer returning if I do!She has suggested if the chemo and tamoxifen do not stop my monthly cycle then they would consider stopping them. We only have the one daughter and she is our world but I would of soo loved to have had another so she had a sibling/ someone there when she is older. Being only 34 I never thought I would be told this, what a blow eh!!!!!! Got my next TAX on the 18th May day before my Birthday GREAT!!! Lisa - your puppy is soo cute, how you coping with the TAX? Hi Sophia, I had 2/22 nodes affected and I had a CT and Bone scan, plus ECG for Chemo/Herceptin. My Onc said they are doing the scans just to make sure there is no spread anywhere else not that they think it has? My scans came back with no evidence of the disease. Like everyone else has said I think each hospital has there own policy they follow as to whether you get scanned or not. Hi ToffeeLumpyBumpy, Welcome to the forums, I am sorry you have a reason to post on here, but rest assured you will get some great support and advice. I am 34 and was diagnosed in Dec 2010 with a Grade 3 invasive Ductal, I had a Lumpectomy and a SNB I then also required a full node clearance as they found a micro trace of cancer in one of my Lymph nodes therefore had them all removed. I am a bit further down the line to you I am having my 5th Chemo of 6 next week.I am also having Radiotherapy? I remember very clearly how I felt at the stage you are at now and believe me it does get easier to deal with, especially once you have a treatment plan in place. Usually Chemo is 6 cycles every 3 weeks and the type of Chemo will depend on node involvement or not? But im sure your medical team will give you this information. Try to take one step at a time, The Lumpectomy and SNB is okay. Try not to google as alot of information on the internet is out of date just look at sites like BCC and CRUK.
