Like the others I think your hubby is a control freak and very self centred. I was hoping for you that once you left he would see a bit of sense and at least try.

Apart from number 1 which was given over 90mins all the rest, finished in March, were given over 30mins. I just nipped out of work for about 2 hours, to allow for travel, parking and waiting time. I had no problems - only manky veins.

They were undecided whether to give me radiotherapy or not, but were giving it me to be on the safe side. When I refused they did not try too hard to persuade me otherwise.
Had mastectomy with tram recon, 8 FECand Herceptin

I was 55 when I had an immediate TRAM recon in Aug 06. I didn't have any problems and I think it looks great. Hubby said he wasn't bothered but I was and had it for me.
I didn't want to have to look in a mirror and look at me being disfigured, deformed, mutilated - call it what you will. I was not prepared to accept a delayed recon. I know I sound awful. My point is - think hard because it affects how you look forever. There is definitely more scarring with a delayed recon, plus an extra operation and recovery time. If you have the choice, just do it the once.

When I had my mammogram they said that results would be given to me at clinic, nad asked when my next appointment was. When I said 6 months time the radiographer said well they'll probably write and let you know it's ok, see you next year. I got a letter the week after saying all was ok.
It's ok saying not to worry , but we all do.

i've had a look and read one or two histories and seen some photos and a general read. All I can say is 'thank God mine was breast cancer'.
I know people say that breast cancer is one of the better ones to get. I didn't believe them until now. I suddenly feel thankful this was the one I got.

Hi all
As you probably all know I was diagnosed June 06. However this isn't about me or breast cancer.
My cousin, who did the race for life with me in June, went to see the dentist on 28th August. She went into hospital on 3rd September to have malignant lump removed from her tongue and lymph nodes from neck. Now awaiting results.
Feet haven,t touched the ground.
Does anyone know of a similar site to this that would be appropriate? I've looked on cancerbacup but nothing jumped out at me.

I had an immediate TRAM recon and I had chemo but not rads.
I had drains out in hospital but it seems to depend on individual hospital.
I was in bed for day and 1/2 so catheter and bed bath. Drains are a pain when you come to have a shower. It's exhausting and everything is wet. I rang the buzzer for help, so ask for help before you go for one.
The morphine drip can cause constipation so be prepared.
