Hi Teresa, Just thought you should know that I've just finished a 2 week course of antibiotics for an infected lump on my lymph node scar. It was very swollen and painful. The doc told me I was very wise by getting to her quickly to get antibiotics as I don't have enough lymph nodes on that side to deal with the infection. Normally a weeks course would have been enough but it's taken 2. And I'm on steroid cream for a week now just to finish the healing process on the scar. Don't hesitate getting to the docs babe, it's really important. I know it's not so easy for you just to jump to A&E but after my last 2 weeks I couldn't not let you know. My periods stopped after my first Chemo in April 09. I started on Tamoxifen in Aug 09. I have had 3 periods in June, August and October this year. Have no idea what's happening with them so will just have to wait and see. I'm still getting flushes and night sweats too which makes it all very confusing. Sheila, So sorry to hear you're having a really tough time at the moment, I hope you're trip into hospital has sorted things out for you. How is your Lymphodema? Are you having any treatment for it? Sharon was looking really well when I saw her at Hazel's funeral, she has had to have a break from chemo but went back on it last week. Hi Sheila and Annie, Sorry not been on in such a long time..I've been really upset about Hazel..It's the funeral today, It'll be very hard but there a lot of us going who've all met and knew Hazel so at least we'll all the there for each other.. Annie, My bone scan was clear..I have osteophytes and arthritis, which I'm getting physio for...I hope your mammo went ok..and wasn't too sore. Sheila, very sorry to hear that the Xeloda isn't working and I hope all goes well with getting the fluid drained, Sharon had it done just over a month ago and they got 5 litres, It was such a relief for her..I hope the Myocet works..I've never heard of that one before but there seems to be new ones coming out all the time. I hope the side effects aren't too bad..you had such a bad reaction too the Tax lasts time didn't you..I'm seeing Maggie, Kim, Helen, lulu,Carol, Sharon and Angela today..nice to see everyone again. just wish it was under better circumstances.. Hi Katie, I'm 8 months on from finishing treatment. I had slight back pain on and off through chemo. I went to the GP in May as the pain was worse and more constant. Was sent for xray and Results from GP said X-ray was fine but when I went to my onc in June for my 6 month check he had a look at the Xray results and he wasn't so confident about a possible diagnosis of arthritis. He sent me for an immediate bone scan which I had within a few days. This all happened just before I was due to go on holiday. I posponed getting the results till I came back as I didn't want to risk the chance of any bad news before I went. I am going for the results on Tuesday so I hope all is going to be well. Hi Girls, Feels like ages since I've been on here!...Just back from holiday on Tuesday and had a wonderful time in Lanzarote, wish I was still there. It was quite a thought to come back...Ii did really well putting the up and coming bone scan results to the back of my mind...it's amazing what being away from it all can do...However, not doing so grand at the moment..Got the wobblies big style and I suppose it was to be expected. My back is sore which is making me feel worse, and then I haven't been feeling well...trying so hard not to panic but as Tuesday gets nearer, I feel ready to blow...trying not to take it out on those round about me too...was going to have a winge on facebook, but too many people who know me will worry if I go on saying this, that and the other!!! so you girls are getting it in the neck!! apologies!!! I've been mega down and angry today, Bloody horrible disease and the crap it brings....Thinking of Hazel and Sharon and Sheila who are having it really hard right now...wish It would all go away, wish I could make it better for all of them....x Hope to meet up with you all soon...really could be doing with it, I missed Edinburgh yesterday as wasn't too well.. Hi Girls, How Ya all doing? Not been on for ages as I've been mega busy trying to get things at work tied up before I go on holiday tomorrow. Ali...good to see you posting and that you're feeling a lot better, hope you can get the fertility thing sorted out soon. Good to hear the massage is working for you too..Poor Hazel's arm looks really uncomfortable in all that bandaging..but then if it works that's all that matters.. Helen, Hope you enjoyed camping with the family..the weather has been fab hasn't it? Carol, Hope you've recovered from falling over...sounds very painful. You were lucky you didn't break something!!! Sheila, Did you enjoy London?..you sound a lot better now..I hope things keep improving for you.. Annie, How are you recovering? any more trips down south? and how is the cat? Everyone will have to say what dates are good for meeting up..I'm back on th 13th..The Edinburgh girls are all meeting up today and they normally make a date for the next one..I'll get Lulu to tell me when it is.. Well...just about all packed!! D-Day for my bone scan is 20th July...back still sore but not going to think about it..I have loads of painkillers...what more could a girl ask for!!!! Hi Finty, Thanks for the info...I was wondering what the difference would look like on the scan? I've had the Xray so I suppose if mets were really suspected then an mri would be the next port of call...The onc was very doubtful about arthritis, he got me this scan within the week and results are supposed to be next Tuesday but I go on holiday in 2 weeks so I am postponing my appointment with him till I get back, I don't want bad news before I fly off for my long awaited and desperately needed holiday...bit of a dilema coming to this decision, but If I have mets there isn't anything I can do about it now...so fingers crossed it's arthritis!! ... Hi ladies, My periods stopped after my first chemo and I went on to develop horrendous hot flushes and night sweats..I finished chemo July 09 and herceptin in November 09..I continued with the menopausal symptoms but a couple of weeks ago I noticed flushes and sweats getting a lot better....to my horror my periods returned last week and I had been convinced that was me all finished!!! I was quite happy at the thought of never having them again!!..I'm still having warm flushes, which is probably the tamoxifen..!! I am only 40 so I suppose I'll have to go through the menopause again naturally later on...oh what joy!!! Hugs Fiona xxxx ... View more

Hi Anne, I went to GP in mid May after having back pain for a couple of months, she sent me for a lumbar Xray and 2 weeks later the results were in and the receptionist said they were ok and that it had came back as "stable"...strange wording I tought..but never thought too much about it... I was at The Onc last week and told him about the xray, he reviewed the results and told me that I was diagnosed with calcifications and lesions similar to that of arthritis, he said I am too young for that and today I went for a bone scan!! So I'm back to the waiting game..I think it's a personal decision if/when you go to the Doctors but given our history I suppose it makes sense to get it checked...I cannot fault the onc for bone scan, just threw me a bit after thinking it was ok...so now I'm hoping it's arthritis??? never thought I'd say that!!....just feel like I've had so many test lately..but I suppose that's par for the course with us now...Hope all is well with you Anne whatever you decide.. Hi Anne, Sorry to hear the Tax has been hard..it's tough to keep the se's under control, and there can be many of them!!...herceptin should be ok, just a long day for the first one while they monitor you..Tax really helps the herceptin to do it's job..so as nasty as it is, it's doing good...and then only one to go!! nearly there honey...how's that handsome grandson of your's coming on?...think it's time for some pics on facebook..!! Hope everyone is well...Annie, sorry to hear about your diverticulitis...I have a couple of clients that have that and it's not too nice...hope it isn't giving you too much trouble...I have a hiatus hernia thanks to chemo, but I'm managing it ok....I have to have a bone scan now as Onc not happy with spine Xray..so I'm feeling fed up today..I just seem to have had loads of tests recently and it's a drag!! Annie, Sharon's been on facebook and started herceptin yesterday..she's not been feeling too well lately..there's a get together evening organised by her friends on the 19th June...It would be great if everyone could go...I know Maggie is going..and Helen I think..If anyone needs details send me a PM and I'll pass on the info...
