i know you probably don't want to hear this but my hairdresser advised me to keep my hair short (no longer than an inch) and keep having it cut until the curls go away...which they will!!

No I didn't have the CBT on the NHS because I am fortunate to have private health insurance. I think you can get it now on NHS though.

I had CBT in 2006 for depression/anxiety. I used to have panic attacks and was constantly in a high state of anxiety.
I cannot recomend CBT high enough. It certainly worked for me. Even now I use the exercises I learnt if ever I feel a bit anxious but I have to say the lessons I was taught by my therapist have so changed my outlook on life that I rarely become anxious now at all.
I know different things work better for some than others but I do think CBT is worth a try.

Well saw the ortho consultant at the beginning of this month and tomorrow I am due to have as 'arthroscopic hydradilatation'. The frozen shoulder has been caused by the radiotherapy.
Apparently they fill the shoulder with water and steroid under a local aneasthetic and do some manipulation to hopefully break down the scar tissue. Not looking forward to this, especially so close to xmas.
Anyone else out there had this done?

Had my hair coloured for the first time since it's started to grow back. Just wanted something similair to my own colour to cover the grey but it turned out ginger. Had the option to have it re coloured but I really liked it!

The new lump was biopsied using fine needle aspiration. I was due to have 4 x FEC then 4x Tax but I had only had 2 FEC when new lump found so they transferred me straight on to the TAx for the rest of the chemo treatment.

Yes I did and it was biopsied and was positive BUT the chemo soon got rid of it and it has now gone.
I know it's hard but try not to worry you are having the best treatment.

I was prescribed this by my GP and it was okayed by my onc. He said the oestrogen is so localised and as long as you use it for just a short time there is no risk whatsoever.

I had ice mitts and ice booties given to me during chemo at my hospital. I had no peripheral neuropathy, only lost 2 little toe nails and my finger nails became very discoloured but did not fall off.

I returned to work today after 10 months abscence!!
I only work 3 days a week and 6 hours a day so 18 hours in total. I was only in 3.5 hours today and boy was I exhausted. I was raring to go and I'm totally taken aback by how tired I was. I know I am very lucky because I will be phased in slowly and will not be doing my full 18 hours until after Xmas ( I work term time )but I have to say I will be taking it very easy on the days I don't work.

Glad you mentioned that your nails are layering. I thought it was just mine. I am 5 months post Tax and most of my nails have a second thinner nail underneath. I find it quite annoying as they are quite sore and tender. Does this grow out??

I do have a small amount of lymphodema in that arm so maybe thats why the acupuncture was contraindicated. With regard to ultrasound apparently this can activate any floating cancer cells!!

Wow it's so interesting that different areas/physios have different approaches. I live in Cheshire so going down south for treatment is not really an option but thanks Elinda.
With regards to acupuncture I have been told by my physio (who is the lead bc physio at my hospital) that this and ultrasound (another common treatment for frozen shoulder) are both contraindicated for people who have had bc. I will report back when I have seen the ortho consultant.

I have been suffering from pain in my shoulder on the same side as my bc for a couple of months. I was referred to a physio and today had my 3rd session and been told that no amount of physio will work at present as the shoulder has become frozen. I have been referred to a shoulder specialist but the physio said it was most likely caused by the radiotherapy.
Has anyone else had this problem and if so how was it sorted?
