Thanks for all your replies. I too have used the Wella balanced scalp serum and shampoo given to me by my hairdresser before I lost my hair and though its growing it the texture I can't manage. Its not long enough to use a brush or straighteners yet so I am just using my hands to smooth down. I will try the wax.

Hi
I finished chemo in July and my hair is now growing back. It is different lengths all over but at its longest about 1 inch. I have decided to brave it without any wig or headscarf. A lot of the hair is straight but amongst it is lots of fluffy wavy stuff that won't lie flat abd it looks a bit silly. I don't wnat a wet look look but would welcome any advice on products people have found good for taming the fluff.

Hope you don't mind me asking but does anyone have views about the flu jab after chemo. I have just finished all my treatment bar Tamoxifen and have been wondering if a flu jab would be good especially as I work in a college?

Thank you lovely ladies for your replies. I suppose I just I have to be patient. I think the thing thats bothering me is I am due to return to work at the beginning of November and I am looking forward to it but if I feel like I do this week I won't be (and boss won't be too pleased) Also I am going on holiday to Aruba at the end of this month and really want to feel well....although I only plan to sit by the pool (in the shade of course!!).

Just feeling really down just now. I finshed chemo in July and rads on 14th September. I am now taking Tamoxifen. The last couple of weeks I had been starting to feel a bit like my old self but this week I am feeling really yuk. Yesterday body hurt all over and today I have the headache from h**l and feel just generally off colour.
I suppose what I want to know is if I am just coming down with something or if these off days are normal after all the treatment? I know it sounds silly but I am not used to being ill and feel frustrated that I am not getting better day by day like I expected!!

I have to agree Elidh7. I too am trying to find a cheap quote for a week in Aruba later this month that will cover me for BC. My husband works in insurance and is adamant that I have cover for the very reasons you have mentioned......and I suppose he should know!

Hi
I had one of these. Basically its a biopsy taken whilst your breast in in a mammogram machine. They squash the breast and using the images as guidance they extract the sample. It's not the most pleasant thing but I was advised to take a couple of paracetamol before hand as it can be a bit painful.

I have just started with se after 4 weeks of taking Tamoxifen. I take it at night which was suggested by someone here on the forum in the hope to avoid se but I am waking up many times at night with sweats and feeling sick. I also am getting restless legs. I have also had a permanent headache for about a week. I am going to give them a bir longer to see if they ease off but like you I just want to start feeling better.

Just thought I'd post a word of warning. I posted a few days ago on this thread as I am starting to feel so much better 8 weeks post last Tax. As a result I have been rushing round like normal (son going off to Uni today) and yesterday I completely flopped and realised I have overdone it.
Just be careful and go slowly!!!!

I remember feeling just like you. I felt so much worse after last Tax than at any other time. I am now 8 weeks post my last Tax and I have just started to feel better. Hang on in there and hopefully you will turn a corner soon.

I feel exactly the same! Only 5 weeks post Tax but I am still taking painkillers for the aches and pain, Lansoprazole for indigestion and just this week my stomach has been permanently upset...oh and I have a permanent shoulder ache and headache too.
Glad to know I'm not the only one suffering.

Went for first radiop session today and spent over 2 hours there and no radiotherapy actually done. When they put on the machine there was a problem as the tattoos wern't lining up. They took me back to the simulator machine where they did my planning and got the same!!. They then took more x-rays and apparently these look different from last week. They said they couldn't go ahead with treatment without the doctor looking at them and so I have to go back tomorrow.
Has anyone alse had this problem. I am worrying like mad what it could be!!!!

Hi all
I had my last chemo (TAX) 4 weeks ago and I still feel like C**p. My body hurts all over and I am still taking painkillers every 4 hours just to get through the day!!
I saw my onc yeaterday for my radiotherapy planning session and mentioned it to him and he just smiled and said unfortunately this can take months to ease off.
Just wanted to know has anyone else had this experience as I have 2 friends who have both gone through chemo and didn't have this experience?

Yes it really knocked me for six. I felt the bad news just kept coming especially as I have lesions on my lung as well which they are still not sure are cancerous or not!!
My onc was not keen on operating before trying another type of chemo as it would increase the risk of lymphodema.
I would talk to your onc and see what are your best options, obviously as you are pregnant you have to be guided by that as well.

I too had the same. I had 2 cycles of chemo when a lump appeared at my clearance scar and it was biopsied and found to be cancerous. My onc said it might have been have been missed because it was in transit between the original lump and the lymph nodes. At this point I was taken off EC and put on to Tax and since then it is no longer palpable but as I have now finished chemo I am due an ultrasound to see if it has gone. If it hasn't I will have another op to remove it.

I have my 3rd Tax tomorrow so I'm one of the Thursday club. I am going to have a day out today. I have been doing this through all my chemos (previously 3 EC) as I see it as my last chance of freedom for a week!! Although coping with a full day out is becoming increasingly hard (soooooo tired) I figure that I will be stuck indoors for the next week so I can make up the rest.
Hope everyone has a 'good' day tomorrow and the SE's are not too bad.

I took 2x Ibuprofen plus 2x co-codamol 30/500 every 4 hours which kept pain at bay but didn't get rid of it completely.
