I guess it depends on who you see and where you are? My Onc has always done "markers!" and here in France they are hot on doing bloods to check these every 6 months at the very least. I am also guessing that it's also to do with what your dx is? K ... View more

I've just looked at the Blood Test - ranges for etc...on Wikypeidia (sp?) and it shows you what the upper limits are for all tests. The CA 125 is 35, mine is 69 CA 15.3 is 28 ... View more

Thanks for your feedback. I have an ovarian cyst, have had since 2000 and had a laperoscopy (sp?) but it went wrong and I ended up with a colostomy bag for 5 months, as I got peritinitus and almost died. Thankfully they mended my bowel back but the cyst is still there.....So you can imagine I don't want any more surgery in that department. Hi, thanks one and all and good luck with everything. I didn't know about the TV prog, will check out when it's on and get someone in UK to video it for me. I've seen implants (of sorts) on a web site with nipples, so I think I'm going to order one and see what that's like - cannot fface any more operations. I have a long way to go to get back to my "fighting" weight - having put on nearly 4 stone with chemo and Tamox and now Arimidex. That doesn't help me either. I have lost about 2, but it's just not me being this size. Once I am healed I will get back into my trainers - I love jogging/running - when I have the energy - and it helps me to get rid of pent up emotions without taking it out on himindoors or the animals...! Hi there, wishing you well, bone scan is okay - really, much better than MRI (for me anyway) and I am the biggest baby when it comes to anything needle like. I too have a constant hip pain, only at night and it's dull thudding. I've just had a bone scan and they said it was mild arthritis - ha ha. I am not convinced - Arimidex is bad for joints so I'm putting it down to that and taking pain killers at night to help me sleep. Next check up I will bring it up again and get another scan. Hi Lisa, how are you? I've bitten the bullet and taken the dressing off - I can't tell you how upset this had made me!! madness in the grand scheme of things. But it's sooo ugly and bashed about now - but I know it will settle down, but no nipple/area/much at all really....and I've got a swollen armpit so where it's rubbing, and it's now hot here, I've got a wonderful red rash. I'm just home after having my nipple and surrounding area all taken off my laps dors recon (done in 2003) and it's such a schock to me, it now feels really like I have BC given I had a perfect recon that even the new Onc here didn't realise till I pointed out the scars. Now it's a small mount sitting on my chest looking very sad and I am SOOO upset about it. Thankfully, I suppose, it is non invasive, so now just waiting for confirmation when they do all the tests on the lump they have removed. Kx ... View more

Hello, I've been on Arimidex since 2005 and my hip is so sore, and only at night and a lower back pain. When I first took it I had very stiff ankles each morning, but that's okay now. I was worried about this as I've just been operated on for Paget's Disease, so I had an MRI which showed I have arthritis, they also said that the side effects for Arim are joint problems, but they gave no solution or told me to stop taking it. IfI stop taking it, should I be looking to take something else? It seems whenever I think I'm getting to the 5 year plan of stopping, I get something again (wason Tamox from 2003 - 2005) I am now starting to really get down about it all esp as my very nice Lap Dors recon is now hardly anything as they've taken most of it away because of the Paget's. Oh well........................Life sucks sometimes. x ... View more
