Hi Rozita,
If you had your op 2 years ago in December you should be having an appointment with your Consultant soon. If you are still having headaches then you should report it to the Consultant.
I cannot see how it would be related to the Lymphoedema but stranger things have happened.
As Sarah says, any medication you may be taking now could account for the headaches.
Have you thought of telephoning the Breast Care Nurses and asking their advice.
Hope your problem soon clears.

Hi Carol,
So glad to hear that sense prevailed and you have taken some action. There is nothing worse than not knowing and making yourself ill with worry. You are not wasting anyone's time. Staff at the Breast Clinic are there to find out what is wrong with you. Trust me, they will be very happy if the lump is just another cyst.
Will think of you on the 31st.

Glad to hear that the first hurdle is over and done with. Having the glands stripped out does leave a lot of pain and discomfort. Pleased it is getting easier for you. As you say, not much you can do about the waiting but keep busy. It will be better when you have all the answers and you can start on the road to recovery.

Hi Trish,
You are not wasting anyone's time. If you have a lump the sooner it is checked the better.
It must be a worry for you due to your mum having had cancer but that does not mean you have it. No one will know what the lump is until it has been investigated. There is absolutely no point in me telling you not to worry because you are human so you will. Try to keep busy while you are waiting for an appointment, anything that stops you thinking about the lump.

Well, I am glad that sense has prevailed but I cannot understand why you have to wait until Monday to see the doctor. If it is an infection you need treatment now. Even if it is not you need to get on with it. Waiting is the worst time so don't make it harder on yourself.

Hi Westland and Joannie,
I too have had an MRI of the brain to make sure all was well. It certainly stopped me worrying. I was having problems with my eyes, two occasions of feeling really queer and headaches. The scan was clear.
It is now 2 1/2 years since I finished tax and 1 1/2 years since I finished Herceptin. I still have problems with one eye and no-one can find the reason why.

Yes, I have a thought. Go see the doc or you will drive yourself crazy worrying. It could be anything but you won't find out what until you make the move. A cyst should not be sore, an infection will be.
Come on girl, make the move, you know you have to so the sooner the better.

You said that your mum has had tests with no results. Has she had scans and a chest xray? I am thinking along the lines of when radiotherapy can affect the lung on the treatment side.
If no one seems able to help, do you think that your mum would be happy to speak to the trained staff on here?

Hi Jane,
Nothing posh about my sleeve as I did not pay for it. The normal sleeves irritate me so much that I cannot wear them. My LD physio suggested the made to measure sleeve. I said that it would be a waste of money if I could not wear it. She replied that they cost no more that a Prescription for good antibiotics. I guess the lining just moved with the sleeve and being silk did not irritate.
I don't wear a sleeve unless I am flying so have to religiously do my exercises and use an exercise ball I got from Lymphoedema Support Network.

Hi Elinda,
Quite right about the sleepiness with Piriton although it does not affect everyone. I remember being in New Zealand and the sandflies got my 2 friends. I dosed them both on Piriton for days and they were not sleepy. I was lucky that I had been using insect repellent so did not need anything. Good job too as Piriton sends me to sleep. I used it during chemo to get a good sleep every other night.

I agree with whoever said to clean the bite or remove the sting and clean the area and then use an antibiotic and pain relief cream. Better to be safe than sorry. If the area spreads and starts to get hot and sore to touch get to a doc for treatment.

I am so sorry that you are going through the dreaded waiting time. It possibly is the worst time of all as you can't stop your mind going over what the results will be. All you can do is fill your time as much as possible, keep busy, busy ,busy.
