Hi Stellam I was like an old woman on Generics & Wockhardt - took me ages to get going if I'd been sat more than a few minutes! I'm on APS now and joints are so much better - less hot flushes too. I visited every local chemist until I found one(Tesco)that agreed to order APS for me. There seem to have been rumours for years that APS were no longer available. Helen can see the statistics stacking up in Triphazard's findings following a study which compared breast cancer rates among a handful of women and found conclusive evidence of a drop in the chances of getting the disease among those who wore pink as a child. She and her sister also wore identical dresses in different colours and she, being the older sister, got the blue one while little sis got the pink - same with pyjamas. Must be why I got BC. Am now wondering by what % a woman's risk of developing breast cancer decreases for every year she wears pink. CM - I'm a teacher and thinking what your daughter is doing should be done in all secondary schools. Does your daughter know about the breast cancer charity Coppafeel? http://www.coppafeel.org/ started by 23 year old Kris who was diagnosed in 2009. Dear Crystal Thanks so much for posting. I'm going in for my expanders to be removed and replaced by silicone implants next month so it's great to hear that it has gone so well for you. Have you been told how long the recuperation is? - forgot to ask when I went to be measured up for implants last week. Rosie - interested to hear that you too have a fat bit by your boob - I've got same - appeared after my mastectomy though surgeon says it's not related. He's going to lypo it - hope he slips and manages to reduce some of my enormous post-steroid/tamoxifen (well that's my excuse!) tummy at same time! Good luck to everyone xx ... View more

Hi Muffett, I'm so sorry you are going through this on top of everything else and hope the move works out for you. I don't live in Scarborough but know it well. I'm a bit further south and have all my treatment in Hull which has a fantastic cancer centre. Can't help you on the Herceptin, but I have found out about this support group in Scarborough, it might be the same one that Jill has mentioned, which meets once every 3 months with a breast cancer nurse in attendance.
