Ninja - congratulations on your positive news -whats NED? Lindylou - wooooo hooo for tomorrow. i feel exactly the same as you after tax 2 - seemed to take longer to get over it but def better than first one. I am day 5 post tax 3 and feeling slightly better today -I do feel trapped inside a 80 yr olds body - even walking to school was so hard and i was so breathless. was very sick yesterday which was wierd as i managed to avoid being sick the whole time and then on the last one im sick!! but i do feel im over the worst now and never to be experienced again! lorna and sandytoes - you must be nervous for this week but just think by this time next week you should both be home and well on the road to recovery. good luck to everyone having treatment this week xx ... I stupidly asked for stats the first time i met with my oncologist and she had it all printed out ready to give to me. probably becasue I had already had the masectomy, the results were from the lab taken from the cancer they removed. Biggest mistake I have ever made - ladies dont do it, the results haunt me daily and if I had the choice again i would never have asked for them. have a good weekend, my side effects are starting to kick in tonight - wish i could fast forward 2 weeks xx ... Evening lovely ladies, woo hoo - finished chemo today - best part was taking that cold cap off and NEVER having to weat it again!!!!!!! I dont feel too excited tonight and know whats to come and just want to fast frwd 3 weeks now! also my best friends mum died last night so very mixed emotions. so whos got the op first - is it you sandy? just go with the advise of the professionals, they know their stuff! thanks for all your messages and will celebrate when this is all over in FLORIDA!!! katie xx ... Morning ladies, so sorry you are feeling so bad ST, i started to feel back to normal after 2 weeks so you are very nearly there. Having said that I am day 18 post tax 2 and my legs are so still so heavy - feel like I have done an intense workout at the gym! The stomach cramps are so awful, I really do sympathise. Next time I took movicol every day starting from the day before chemo so I didnt get clogged up and it worked and I never got the cramps. Cant believe we are in October - I remember at the beginning of my diagnosis I worked out my last chemo would be 5th Oct and that seemed like ages away - and now we are here - and its 90 degrees out!! I went for my radiotherapy appt on Friday to get measured up and tatooed! all went well and had ct scan. Scary hearing the long term side effects of radiotherapy and slightly worried because its my left side so the same side of my heart. I met with the physiotherapist at the hospital and he told me that if you exercise 3 hrs a week it reduces your chance of reocurrance for breast cancer patients by 30%!!! So after all this is over I am off to the gym! Sandytoes you did make me laugh out loud about your low cut top comment! Its funny because I have had the reconstruction but I am so paranoid that everyone that knows me is staring at my chest all the time that I wear baggy tops even though they have done such a good job! Slendabenda - good luck for chemo tomorrow. Lorna - hope the ankles and legs are not too swollen today -my stomach is so swollen I look 7 months pregnant!!! For those of you triple negative - sorry so sound thick, but does that mean you dont go on any hormone pill like tamoxifen for yrs post treatment?? Sandy, so what symptoms did u initially have if u did not have a lump come up?? I think maybe it's me to finish next on the 5th oct. I am not sure whether to continue with the longer dose of steroids for my last tax as I have found the comedown horrid and I am still aching today, 10 days after tax so feel the steroids have just delayed the effects and not stopped them. Plus the no sleeping for a week is rubbish. Lorna, I had masectony and reconstruction in may so anything you want to know, ask away. The op will not be as bad as you think and the recovery time is quicker than recovering from this horrid tax!! Anyone watching eastenders??? Why is cancer everywhere I look at the moment..... Lindy, what sleeping tablets are u using, I am def gonna get some for my last round. Still never slept last night and baby slept from 7till 7! Hi ladies, I am 6 days post 2nd tax and been feeling ok. Got thrush back today so back on fluconazade. Lorna, the taste in my mouth is so vile too. I don't know about anyone else but it should be enough to put me off eating, but instead I think I'll try this to see if it tastes ok and end up eating more so still putting on weight!!! The longer dose of steroids def helped me this time but the sleepless nights have been hard. Last night I finally felt relaxed and would have slept well and the baby was up all night teething!!! Can't remember what it's like to have a full night sleep. I feel so horrid without my eyelashes and eyebrows, when I look in the mirror at night time with no wig and make up on, I do get upset at the state of me. Hi everyone, I am doing ok and still on steroids for a few more days yet. No major side effects yet so keeping my fingers crossed, even managed to take kids to the park after school today as the weather so lovely. The only problem is the sleeping - Lorna def could have met you for a cuppa last night at 4am - i wake up like clockwork the last 3 mornings as 2:30 and stay awake until 4:30. I am on a lower dose today so I am hoping I will sleep better. ST - fantastic news on the shrinkage, well done you must be over the moon. sandy - enjoy cornwall, how lovely to celebrate with your friends the end of this horrid chapter. I know what you mean about correcting people on congratulating us at the end of chemo - but I guess we just smile and take on board ST's attitude and get on with our lives. Bertha/Lorna - hope effects arent too bad and you enjoy the weekend. I have been taking movicol since tuesday night so my constipation dosent get too bad and I dont end up with horrendous stomach cramps like last time and I am on mouthwash to prevent thrush re occuring so I feel more prepared this time. evening all, Firstly big hugs to you now Sandy for your last TAX tomorrow - well done and congrats on reaching this point in your treatment. will be thinking of you tomorrow while i also have the stupid cold cap on, thinking like i do every time, why on earth am i putting myself through this, but still going back to it each time!!! Bertha, yes it is for 5 weeks, seems to be 4-5 weeks as standard treatment but you doget weekends off. I have been booked in for 10am every morning so at least i get it out the way early. Now just got to sort out child care for the baby every morning - that should be fun as she is soooo clingy to me at the moment - cries when I walk out the room! Lorna - great attitude - maybe if we say it enough it will work - WE WILL NOT SUFFER THIS TIME, WE WILL NOT SUFFER THIS TIME, WE WILL NOT SUFFER THIS TIME..... Hi everyone, Great poem beth a , I have had a facial and got reflexology booked for weds and not had a problem - so annoying when u are excited for something. Eyelashes completely gone but eyebrows ok at the moment. Saw onc today, dreading next tax in weds but she is putting me on 6 days of steroids to try and mask some of the SE I had last time. Also got some pills for stomach cramps. So who's final chemo is this week?? I got my radiotherapy booked today, I start 31 oct for 5 weeks. Only 2 more times of wearing the dreaded cold cap. Hi twinke twinkle, I am another young mummy (age 31 with 2 gorgeous girls aged 5 and 1) and was diagnosed in may with same as you, grade 3 with 4 lymph nodes involved. I had a mastectomy, reconstruction, I have had 4 lots of chemo, 2 to go then 5 weeks of radiotherapy. I cried so much at first, why me as I had been through so much heartache already in getting my 2 girls as had several miscarriages. My daughters are my world and all I care about is protecting them and I promise you, you will carry on as normal as possible for your kids. They make me smile every day and my 5 yr old is so much more resilient than I realised. She loves my wigs and so far does not seem to be affected my any of this. I kept the explanation very simple, I told her I had to have strong medicine for my sore booby and it will make my hair fall out. When I had my op, I did tell her I was going on holiday for work as I couldn't bare the thought of her worrying about me if I told her the truth. It's all doable and you will get through it. Lorna - I couldnt agree with you more - Sandytoes you are special, always so positive and have such a wonderful way with words. I am so so sorry to hear about your past. I met a girl today (someone I used to go to school with) who had cancer 6 yrs ago and is in remission now. she was diagnosed when her baby daughter was 6 weeks old, was told she wouldnt be able to have any more kids and decided to accept that and not freeze any eggs. Anyway 4 months after finishing treatment she fell pregnant and now has a little boy aswell. I think we only hear sad stories and this might make you feel a little more positive about your future with your hubby who sounds lovely. I am going to try the counselling tomorrow, so will let you know how i get on (cant imagine it will help but def worth a try) Supertrouper - welcome to the thread, lovely to hear from you. I had first tax 2 weeks ago and although i did get many side effects from it, I do feel fine now. Evening ladies, hated it when the site was down all weekend felt so lost without u all!!! Lindylou, u can get cophosol over the counter but very expensive so my onc wrote to my gp to give a prescription so would get it free. It worked and will take it straight after next tax to prevent it coming back. Since I have already had surgery and reconstruction I have 2 more tax and 5wks radiotherapy so due to finish 2 dec. Anyway spoken to a counsellor?? I am considering it as struggling so much to try and think positive about my future. I so want to think positive but dont know how to get these horrible thoughts out my head. Someone on another thread summed up my thoughts so well, she said the worst thing about breast cancer is it takes away from u the assumption that u will grow old and see your kids grow up, which we all had pre cancer. Anyway glad everyone seems to be getting on ok this week, my eyelashes have nearly gone now and found fab eye lure pre glued lashes that stick on so easy and look very natural. Katie xx ... Lindylou, bare with it, I am now 10 days post 1st TAX chemo and honestly feel completely back to normal. apart from horrid taste still in my mouth - when should that go?? I went to the park today, out for lunch, kids bithday party and then bbq with friends tonight - never thought in a million years last week i would even be able to do one of those things! I promise each day you will start to feel a bit better and you will get a good 10-14 days before next chemo. Dont suffer any pains - def take painkillers. I have been using Cophosol mouthwash for the thrush - anyone else using that and has it prevented the thrush for next time? thinking of you and hope everyone else is ok love katie xx ... View more

Hi everyone, so sorry not been on for a couple of days I really have been poorly. Can't believe how long this poisoning has effected me for. I also ended up back at hospital today but home now thank god. As well as all the aches and pains and severe stomach cramps for 2 whole days that were worse than labour, I got thrush at the top and bottom and piles! my mouth has been throbbing and so sore. I hope it is all under control now with all my lotions and potions, as u can all imagine I feel so sexy!!!! My poor husband is exhausted looking after me and the kids. I suddenly feel very bitter against the world as it seems all my friends are getting on with their lives and coming back from holidays (and of course they should!) and I am being left behind struggling. I don't know if that makes sense but the occasional text every few days if frustrating me so much. Bertha - how u feeling so hope u r also home now and pls explain the sunroof story!! Sandy- hope you feel ok after tax today Lorna- well done for getting through your second tax - I am so scared for my next one.
