Hi Flapper, I sympathise with you on the waiting for results. I had my SLNB on the 26th Novand I get the results at 8pm tonight. I have never felt so scared in my life, this situation is occupying my brain 24/7 100%. Praying the nodes are clear I will then be having a MX and reconstruction. You sound like you are making good recovery from the op when do you get your results? Good luck keep positive and heal well both mentally and physically. Sending a big hug xxxxx

Hi Sharon0569. I too am on this part of the journey. I was diagonsed with DCIS in two sites intermediate to high grade and had my SLN last Monday. I am still tired and sore bra less for most of the day. Results day tomorrow, I am praying the nodes are clear but the waiting is so tiring and worrying. My consultant advised me the way forward was to have a mx and immediate reconstruction. Good luck with your results xxxxx big hugs xxxxxx

Hi Rach O. I was told that patients HAVE to return for results as theynever send them by post or give results over the telephone. So please try not too worry,I so know howmuch that advice is easier said then done! Can you call tem explain your anxiety and ask if the have any cancellations earlier than the 10th. Stay positive and keep busy HJG1972. The waiting and the unknown is the worst. I too am walking the waiting path with you....I was diagnosed with multi site DCIS following a routine mammogram and 2 biopsies. Waiting for results was one long emotional nightmare, thinking about the what ifs.... The best route forward for me is a mastectomy and reconstruction, which is planned early in the new year. I am now anxious about waiting the results of the SLN, iget these tomorrow night, praying they are clear, but the worries start again what if... Fingers and everything crossed for good news on Tuesday. Big hugsxxxxxxx

Hi lizzyb. Deep breath you will get lots ofsupports from thefantastic ladies on this forum. I know it's a shock, I was diagonised with DCIS two weeks ago following a routine mammogram screening, whilst this is very early stage breast cancer, I still have to undergo a mastectomy and reconstruction. I'm hadmy SlNB on Monday and I know sit anxiously waiting for the results (praying that the nodes are clear, results due in next Tuesday. I have learnt from this forum two key things ....no 1 take each step as it comes...no 2 do NOT google other websites, there iis a lot of inaccurate websites out there with really scary stories that are just not true. You said "good news is small". Focus on this. What is the next stage? Big hugs xxxxxxxx

Thanks to everyone who supported me through going for a SLNB procedure, as you know I was really scared due to reading silly American websites. I had the procedure yesterday and NO pain at all.
The tracer injection was put in at midday and it was less pain than the stereotactic core biopsy local anaesthetic injection and that was only a pain rating of 1. The blue dye was put in during the general anaesthetic. Spent the night in hospital as the operation didn't get started until after 6pm. Home yesterday feeling a little sore but that is because I forgot to take the paracetamols. Now the wait begins...7 more days to go. The consultant said he only removed 1 node, not sure if this is good or bad....anybody else with similar experiences? Big hugs for everyone xxxx

Thank you for responding and reassuring me. You were right NO pain at all what a chump I am worrying so much! Now the agonising wait for results! Next Tuesday. The consultant said he only removed one sentinel node, not sure if that is god or bad. Any know or have had similar experience....I refuse to google.

Sorry to tag on her but for some reason I cannot start a new topic.
You will remember I was so worried about the SNLP procedure but thanks to the support and reassurance of you guys I was not a nervous wreck when my tIme came. I went in for the procedure on Mon and NO pain at all. I stayed in the hospital for 1 night as the second bit was not doneuntil after6pm, home yesterdayrecovering. So far so good now the agonising wait for results, next Tuesday. The consultant said he only took 1 node not sure if that is good or bad? Anyone know or had similar experience. Thoughts are with everyone waiting for results.xxxxxx
