Hi Amanda Jane, This forum thread is a real life line. I was diagnosed with bone mets in pelvis and spine last april and the ladies on here were trully wonderful when i posted in a very desperate state of mind. I have all the new drugs in place and the side effects are not too bad. If there is anything you need to ask someone has the answer or can put you in the right direction . Dear All, I am also reading and re-reading the posts from xmas. I was in terrible pain which also took me to docs/ hospital appts till they disscovered my secondries in pelvis and spine. This was last april and am now feeling much better but still cannot put socks or shoes on without help or being a contortionist BUT i feel much better and am now on my new drugs and they have been ok side effects wise. I also had my ovaries out which made me feel very very desperate as would have loved to have children. Good Morning Ladies, It has been 2 weeks since my last consultant appt and JUST about feeling better mentally. I get very down when i come back from seeing them and takes me this long to calm down and get back on track! It was a good appt and all seems to be stable but i get so stressed that after i feel almost back to when i was first diagnosed . Hi Ladies, Thank you for comment on drug presciption,sounds like it is not doing anything for you Dot. I shal continue and see how things go! I may try some acupuncture, they say that helps. Hi Ladies, Have started my AI's and feeling quite well at the mo. When i went to see onc last i told her that i was having bad hot flushes. She gave me a perscription for VENLAFAXINE which is a anti-depression tablet which helps with all the effects of the menopourse. Has any-one else been on these tablets? best wishes to all, liz xx ... Hello All, Would love to pick everyones brains about what people feel about supplementary chinese medicine. I have a friend of a friend who is a practising doctor in this type of thing and recommended me two tablets to take along side my conventional medicine. One is called Cordycep and the other is Lingzhi, both a fungus/mushroom. When i went to see my consultant i mentioned this to her and she said they are fine as long as they have no natural estrogen/progestgeno (terrible speller! sorry) I then went home and did lots of re-search and found some writing about the Cordyceps saying they could produce estrogen through the Adrenal Gland, which is the part i got worried about as i am on AI's to stop these as i am now post-menoporsal Would be great if anyone had an advice, liz xx ... Hi Ladies, Back from consultant and very happy to hear from her that my other breast is fine and they found nothing sinister. Starting my AI's and calcium tabs. Hi Liz, Thank you for the post - i think it was the shock of the onc saying that they found cancer cells in the removed ovaries and then the morning of tests that made me feel so frightened. I am also having another bone density scan before the next appt, which i am presuming is to see if there is any progression ? Kind regards x ... View more

Dear All, Had my appt with onc yesterday and came away totally freaked out. She started reading my notes and Recent CT scan .Firstly she said that they had found cancer cells in my ovaries that they took out in Sep and then went on to say that there was a thickening on my other breast and had to go for blood, mamo, ultra sound and now another appt in 2weeks She said they are going to have a 'big meeting' about me and to see them again after another bone scan I feel so so frightened as i was on my own and she has a very matter of fact attitude which sometimes makes me feel like it is the end. my mind is in a bad place and was not expecting this one bit. Hi to all, Having a real wobble at the mo! I was diagnosed in april with bone mets in pelvis and low spine. Had all my treatment , the last one being an op to remove ovaries. Feeling very weepy ( ggrrrr to hormones) and have a CT scan (monday) and appt with onc on wednesday. Today i woke with a pain in the top of other leg and my mind has gone into TOTAL overdrive.
