isnt it funny as we all think we are odd for the feelings we havem and since ive put them on the firum or read posts i see that everyone feels the same.
i was saying to jo on a pm, that i felt really embarrssed when i told my parents i had BC, as i felt like i had let them down, and how would i ever look them in the eyes again.

i was totally devastated at the thought of loosing my hair, for me, after years of crap relationships ect ect the one thing people had never been able to take away from me was my apperance and identity, so this for me was worse than the dx its self.
i was adamant i would have the cold cap and and at one point actually thought my hair was more important than having cemo. but that thought didnt last long. for me, i use straightners and gel and have my hair funky, if i used the cold cap and if it worked, i would have to be really careful with my hair, no heat, no products ect, so to me i wouldnt be able to have it as i like ayway, so the best way of having less stress was the wig.
this is also found hard to accept, how will my partner feel when he wakes up next to a bald kaz!! what if it blows off int he wind, what if it itches. what if peoole can tell. I have had breast cancer, im alive, if i can get through that 12 months of no hair a cool wig and funky hats is the way it is to be.
ps, i had the flu jab today. x

xx im soooo glad that everyone is joining in the thread, and we have a lot of us now, that are at the same timelines.
we also have two pink queenies to help us.
so thanx to everyone.
its sad we have have this one thing in common as its not nice for anyone to go through it. but it also nice that we all have each other for questions, support and tips.
what i have found helpful is things that i never ever thought to ask, or things that i hadnt even thought of at all. the cemo tip list is brilliant, and it already has made me feel more prepared.
i have my pre cemo chat tommorow, a heart scan later today, and then a buzy week of meeting up with people, picking up my wig, its jordin if you want to google it. its longer than my real hair, as i wanted somethink differnet.
oh and i need to go and get another pack of sherbert lemons as i ate the ones i got sat, lol, well i had to test them didnt i.

i was also wondering about and thought id mention it tuesday, but it think ive left it too late now as i start a week tommorow.
good you went out jo, with your falsey, my mom said her chest felt hot when she tok hers out, but to be honest i couldnt tell she had one in, and most people dont look that close at your boobs. well there are a couple of blokes at work that stare lol
sunday is nice,we have been the park., however i thought if i do this in 2 weeks when i have shaved my head il be freexzing. lol

hey pinkies,
just got in, went to a bonfire. had a laff, as i have hair for about 2 week, and i was saying i wouldnt have had to worry about my hair smelling of bonfires if this was in a couple of weeks. lol.
one of andys girls wanted her hair checked for nits as there is the usual outbreak at school, and i said check mine, and she said yuou wont be able to get nits soon as they cant live on a bald head. lol
today, i started to put togther my cemo reserves!! sherbet lemons, i only said id started. lol
glad to see we have a nice bunch of us on the tread that are all around the dx, mx and cemo same dates. all from different parts of the country ,, shame as we could have had a cofee morning.
i hope we can all stay friends during this pink journey, support and help each other. and any tips to help each other.

im not sure hunny, but they work for me.
and its ace as i feel anxiety coming on and within 20mins its gone. or at least bearable, it may be worth trying. i didnt need to be on them all the time either.
there are some slow release propranolol tabs too, but i didnt feel comfy with having them in my system that much, i liek the as and when solution
i also find that cause they are in my bag, i dont need them cause i know i have a solution if i need

hey all.
i recently was advised by my BCN to apply for the grant,as im off work, and only on SSP. as a way of getting some funding for the extra travel incurred, hat wear, and increased heating bills that have accured due to having my diagnosis.
Well it was so fast and a chq arived today. anyway your allowed to cash this straight away with proof of id, at any Natwest branch.
so off i went, really happy that somethink had gone right and the extra money would really help as im on SSP.
they hadnt got a clue what the chq was, and why i thought i could cash it, so i showed the cashier the leter showing in black and white that i could with ID cash, still no, she rang head office appently and said no again. So i asked to see the manager, i felt myself getting very red , embarrssed and annoyed.
I was explained to by the manager that the chq i was presenting was from the wrong account, and that macmillan had made an eror and would need to reissue me with a chq. !! no way would they have made this eror i explained, they write cheques all the time for grants and i cant believe that if this is an isue it hasnt been raised before. then i left.
got to my car and burst out crying. how silly of me. rang macmillian who were fab, they calmed me down, put me through to the benefits team who rang me back to save my phone bill, and then assured me they would get to the bottom of this unaccetable issue.
within an hour he had rang back telling me it was all sorted and the bank were looking at old instructions, and i can re present it tommorow and have it cashed.
so, thanx to Macmillan for saving the day.

sorry for late reposnse
i have 40mg of propranolol as and when i need it for anxiety and panic attakcs, have had them for about 3 years now. i can take up to 3 a day, and i think theyre great.
within 20 mins of taking i feel totally relaxed and have even forgot i was stressing.
they have come in use a lot over the last 2 months !!

my thoughts are with you all at your different stages on this road.
ive named it my pink road, as i dont like the cemo words ect, they seem to stop a conversation in its tracks lol
im ok, have a start date, 15th nov, and a chat appointment on the 9th to go through what theyll do ect ect.
i agree wth you all the waiitng is worse. im sure once i start counting the 6 down it will be ok.
