Hi Everyone, sorry not been on for a while. I have had a bad week . I went for my review on Thursday last week and was told that they were pleased with my bloods the previous week. My latest bloods were not available but could have Chemo on Friday. Arrived at 11.30am to be told I could not have Chemo as my HB was too low and needed urgent blood transfusion . To cut a long story short I did not get home until nearly midnight due to a catalogue of problems with my bloodvtesults. Found an enormous bruise on arm and had not knocked it . Gone for review today to be told my platelet level is 28 dangerously low so needed to have Vincristine today and no Taxol tomorrow. Got to go in the morning and if my platelets have not gone up then they will admit me . I will have to have platelet transfusion . If they have risen then go on Monday to have more bloods and vincristine. Trying not to worry but Doc was so pessimistic with us.Hubby is worrying and trying to put a brace face on . Has anyone else had similar experience ? I find I just keep apologising to kids as I am so shattered and feel I am letting them down all the time. I have just got to keep fighting this . Funny face your story made me laugh when I read about the Christmas tree. We have got the tree out but still in the box. We are both trying to work the energy to put it up as you have to put each branch on the tree. My youngest is getting fed up with us lol . I have some more energy than I had . Hi everyone, not been on for a few days. Round 3 of Chemo tomorrow.felt really exhausted and no energy. I have had a lot of bone ache especially back and hips. Not sure if it is because of the cold weather or the Taxol. I had a slight side effect last week - soreness /tightness in chest. Ended up with a Doctor and nurses .?decided to continue later but a slower pace. Felt fine when I got home. Trying not to look at the cleaning as hubby is trying his best. Just hoping the tiredness will subside as I should be going to Liverpool in just over a week. May hire a scooter there . Anyone put their Christmas tree up yet? Think we will this weekend. Hi everyone hope you have all had a good weekend and kept warm . Chemo not too bad but starting with small doses and building up over the next few weeks. Just felt very cold on Friday night and Boeotia sneezing/coughing . Feel fine now so perhaps it was a side effect. Booked in for consultation for hats etc as hair loss could start this week . My hair is shoulder length and was going to get it cut shorter but think I will run out of time. Just trying to keep things as normal as possible. Think it is still sinking in with the kids . Just paranoid about picking something up . Hubby at work on days but off for 8 days after tomorrow which has happened by fluke. He should have been going to Abu Dhabi for the GP but luckily had not booked flights . So will have to make do with watching it on the tv lol. Take care everyone xxx ... View more

Hi everyone, pleased the Chemo is doing what it should Moijan . Had pre assessment today. Starting Chemotherapy tomorrow. Initially Paclitaxel(Taxol) and vincristine. - 12 week cycle. Feel a bit overwhelmed and worrying how we will manage with the three kids . Two of them are teenagers who will help but my 8 year old due to the low immune . He has to be constantly reminded to wash hands etc . Think it is going to be a rough few weeks. Grandparents are not very helpful happy to accompany me but nothing else. I think I have just have to take each day. Whilst I am writing this the kids are aguing and fighting ! Grrrr! Explained about changes that will happen but think it is too much info for them to take in. Sorry rant over. Has anybody been on the same Chemo ? Any advice would be appreciated ? Thanks Carolyn and FunnyFace , and everyone. Will try to test. Hubby should have been working tomorrow and Friday so he is now around to keep an eye on me lol . Sorry I didn't realise I had posted two similar threads on here. Don't know what I am doing lol! Yes nice to be home. I was with some mature ladies who were very nice but were asleep by 8.30pm. Not good when I am a night owl lol! Been out with hubby just gentle walking and did some Christmas shoppping. Then went for lunch at a country pub . Hi everyone I am glad t be home. Saw Doctor yesterday that said initial tests are showing that breast cancer is n my bone marrow . They have a plan but needs to speak to the Consultant t agree Meds ., Think my infection s part of the picture. They want me o start Chemo on Thursday which vincristine . This will be weekly and will start with something else as well. They are trying to save the bone marrow. I just feel exhausted today and not done much . Is it too early to go to bed xxx ... Hi Dawn sorry you are going through it too. I am just waiting to see my Oncologist for results of bone marrow as the cancer is attacking it. I need to go to the appt but don't want to. Feeling scared and overwhelmed with it. I have been told that I can go home after with antibiotics. They know I have infection but not sure what it is as samples not grown anything. Thank you everyone.funny face that chocolate brownie sounded lovely . Think I will suggest it to my daughter . . Well what a day I have been admitted on oncology and having two units of blood. I am anaemic again and platelets were 48. They think I have a water infection too. Could not get tv to work 4 of us had a go. Hubby comes in and switches it on . Typical! Managed to watch Strictly. Aah thanks for the tips .funnyface . I have three kids ..my Daughter is 16, and two sons -13 and 8 . I am ssh 48 and was diagnosed in 2010 . I know what you mean I have to scroll through as my memory is not always good especially with names . I always call the kids wrong names and then just say you lol . Sometimes forget to check the forum as I get busy with family . I am sure everyone is the same. I don't like to bother Oncology as I know they are busy . My hubby tells me off as he says that is what they are there for. Supposed to be going to fireworks thing tonight but was hoping it would be postponed with the weather. Thank you everyone. Rang Hospital this morning and went for blood tests . Impressed with the Hospital rang me back and said bloods looked not too bad . But they want me have further blood tests on Friday . See Onc on Monday morning. Trying not to worry and have rested as much as the kids have allowed me . Taken dosage for anti sickness which has helped but still not much appetite. Upsetting Hubby because I was always a big eater. Hoping they will get me stable again. I had my fleece top in bed which is not me usually fighting with the duvet lol x Bernie I had radiotherapy on my hip when I was first diagnosed. I could hardly walk . I must admit we bought one tub of sweets and we have eaten them so had to buy more . Fireworks have started in our area. I am hoping to go out with my youngest tomorrow night if I am up to it. Thanks everyone xxxx Hubby is worrying especially if I feel tired . My youngest had us up in the night with a tummy bug so been disinfecting everything . Ordered my Christmas groceries and going to do some Christmas shopping to distract me. Will order some things online and try not to go into overdrive lol! Hi everyone, just to update you I went for bone marrow assessment yesterday. We had to wait a while and I was getting nervous . Had not been told after an hour that they were running an hour and a half on top of that . Just so busy and terrible to see how many unwell people there are at the clinic. I had both tests and it was a bit uncomfortable when taking samples but said I did well. I was just thinking about the other people waiting and to get it done quickly . One of my tests they could not withdraw any fluid and said should have results in two weeks . Heamotology were concerned about my platelets as they had been 50 and should have been 150 prior to transfusion . Will need a top up with blood . Feeling tired today and a little sore . Just trying to rest. Trying not to worry and taking a day at a time . Since I was diagnosed in 2010 we have always been straight with our three children who are now 16,13 and 8 . The youngest was very unwelll when he was a baby and we were always advised to be straight but obviously putting it in words that they could understand . It has meant that they are supportive and advised their Schools so they can have support from friends etc . Hope this helps . Thanks for the reply . Oncologist had said just to start with one dose of Chemo as he does not want to destroy bone marrow. However I got home and read the form and it said weekly Vincristine. So have more questions with Onc ..think I will write them down as forgetful. Just a bit of a shock and hubby keeps on at me to eat as not really got any appetite . Think treatment plan will depend on bone marrow assessment on Friday . We are in Scotland for a couple of days but I feel worn out . At least we can park up and watch the kids play on the beach .
