Hi everyone Not been on forum since June /July . I had problems logging on to forum I am a little forgetful . Contacted main people and as you can guess sorted me. Big thanks to them . Good weekend with Strictly and dare I say X factor . Don't know why I watch X factor my guilty pleasure Simon . I am back on again as I had had positive news in August that cancer is still the same but might need a change in Med from Anastrazole . Things have moved on in the last few weeks as I have felt really unwell , room spinning , out of breath and really tired etc . To cut a long story short I managed to get appt with Oncologist who has said that the cancer is active and will need to start Chemotherapy . Had blood transfusion last week as I have anaemia and low platelet count . Need bone marrow test which is on Friday . Feel apprehensive about it but trying not to worry . Thanks Carolyn . I had ct scan on Sunday so just waiting for results. Got onc appt in a couple of weeks. Trying not to worry and will take a day at a time. Hopefully going to Silverstone at the weekend for the GP so hoping weather will be kind to us Orthopaedic Surgeon was not nice a bit too blunt about my prognosis. Hi everyone , hope you are all enjoying the sunshine today . Been for ct scan this afternoon so hopefully will have results in 2-3 weeks time. I am not going to try to think about it . Easily said than done. Just waiting game now. I had been seen Orthopaedic Surgeon about hip replacement as had radio on hip in 2010 . He was not very nice really and was quite blunt with me regarding prognosis. In other words might be too risky due to bone mets . I can't have a reconstruction due to bone mets . Hi I have not been on for a while. I have bone mets in pelvis,back and hips, and sternum . Been told today that they think the cancer has spread to my liver . I am waiting to have ct and to see if it is the anastrazole affecting blood results or not. I am terrified as I have been stable since 2013 .is there anyone who can offer me advice please ?  +- Thanks Val and Belinda. Yes I am on the med you said Val...my memory is not good lol! Still having tingling so may have to double dose from tomorrow. The meds are making me sleepy and I initially slept better than I have for a while. I had a rough night last night as my hips were painful. Just hoping a bit of sunshine in Lanzarote in the next few weeks will help.   I have had rt on both hips and pelvis. I had some on middle of my back in July but it affected bottom of my back and I had to go to bed. I was bent double think a nerve had ben affected.My left hip I had a course of rt and I am able to walk better than prior to treatment. I just take anti-sickness tablets beforehand to help in case I feel sick. It is one of those things to whether it works or not but when you are in extreme pain I will try anything. Hi everyone, Not been on for a while. I just wondered if anyone has had any problems taking Anastrazole. I have been taking this for a year but the last few days I have had a funny tingling almost like sunburn sensation from my waist including hips, lower back, groin and hips. Rang Macmillan Nurse and advised me to see Gp who has prescribed some medication taken for nerve pain. Can't spell the med but is also used as an anti-depressant. Take care  everyone xxx ... Hi everyone, Not been on for a while. I have changed from Tamoxifen to Arimidex in July as Tamoxifen was not being as effective. Only been on Tamoxifen for just two years. I have retired from work as well in August at 44 yrs old. It means when I am tired I can rest when Kids are at School and spend time with oh and Family. I just felt pressured at work as I felt so tired and did not have the stamina to deal with the work issues that I could previous to diagnosis. I wrestled with my decison for a while and was put thru various hoops by Hr to become retired ie they had to sack me first which gave me three months notice. During that time they wrote to my Docs etc. It was not pleasant. I saw Onc on Monday and my tumour markings are starting to come down again. They had been trebling so he was pleased that I am responding at the moment. I had a shock however, my Mum had a cancerous lump and had a mastectomy about 3 to 4 weeks ago whilst I was away on Holiday. Did not tell me as she did not want to worry me. My Mum saw the Surgeon last week and have told her that it has spread more than they had first thought and at time of mastectomy only removed 3 or 4 lymph glands. She has now got to be admitted in the next few weeks to have the remainder of glands removed. My Mum is now going to have various scans. I don't think she is telling me everything as some information varies. I am worried sick about her and don't want her to have to go what I am going through to. I just pray they can sort her xxx I know everyone understands on here. I don't know whether I can deal with this as well. My young son has been unwell for the last 4 years....I just wonder what we have done. Nothing at all . Hi Val, Sorry that your holiday was cut short and now facing surgery. Keep your chin up xxxxx I have not been on for a few weeks. I saw my onc yesterday and showed me my bloods graph which has shown that my tumour markings have trebled since October last year. He said that it will continue and that it is the bone mets that are active. So crunch time ......agreed to change from Tamoxifen to Arimidex.....think that is how you spell it ! So fingers crossed that my tumour markings will reduce. On a positive note for me anyway, I will be officially retired from 26 th of this month. I feel relieved as felt too pressured and it was making me unwell. Just keep planning holidays with the family. Anyway take care everyone xxxxx ... View more
