Morning Ladies - well went for delayed 2nd dose of cycle one yesterday only to be told my white cell count had only risen from 0.1 to 0.4. So no line insertion, no chemo and 5 days of G-CSF injections. My hair has fallen out resulting in bald patches so the OH has given me a number 3!!! Hi Ladies   Smartie so sorry to hear you ended up in hospital. I do hope you are feeling better.   i had bloods done yesterday in readiness for cycle 1 2nd dose chemo today and on arrival at hospital this morning I was told my white count was 0.1 - so no line insertion and no chemo. it is just so frustrating. the bcn thinks I am fighting a viral infection which may explain why i have been so tired. so sent home to rest - ironicaly today is the first day for a week that I haven't needed a nap!  Rosie ... Helen really important question m&m peanut or chocolate? I've lost my hair twice so far and the last time I didn't bother with a wig just a few bandannas. I decided this is who I am and if others don't like it they can lump it. It does give the opportunity to open conversation about checking for lumps. The first time I lost my hair I did wear a wig until one really hot summers day when I just had to remove it. My children and grandchildren were round the next day the youngest went to pre-school and told her teachers that she had a very special nanny who could take her hair off and put it back on again!!!! Hi everyone.so pleased so many are having positive feelings about this drug. I had my first dose of cycle 1 last Wednesday 25th and I am only just getting back to normal. I slept wednesday afternoon and evening, all day and evening Thursday and through to lunchtime Friday. I wasn't sick, which was good, just extremely tired., only waking for hot drinks and comfort visits. I am back to the hospital for line insertion, they forgot to arrange it last week, and 2nd dose this Wednesday. I just hope it doesn't knock me for six again. Hi Ladies, went for pre treatment assessment yesterday. I was cleared for cycle 1 dose 1 of Eribulin which I had this morning. There was a slight hiccup as although Onc had asked for a line insertion it hadn't been booked in - so they had to try for a vein in my good arm (lymphodema in other arm) luckily second attempt worked. It is so good to have the support of so many wonderful cyber bodies. I am glad to hear that your pain is controlled and hope that your results will be positive. Well after a wonderful Mother's Day with my son, daughter, their partners and my four grandchildren we finally got away for a few days, despite a UTI which required antibiotics. I have my pre assessment appointment and bloods tomorrow and should begin treatment on Wednesday. For the first time through this long process I feel apprehensive. The Onc has said if this chemo does not work there is nothing else available at this time - there is one other drug but it is from the same generic family so he doubts that would work either. The enormity of the situation is hard to carry and the pain in my loved ones faces is unbearable to see. I am a very positive person normally but not today. ... View more

Good morning Bumkin and all you other lovely ladies. I have only just finished my last cycle of Capecitabine, although it wasn't working the Onc thought it would be a good idea to finish the cycle whilst he got funding for the new chemo before it was withdran from the fund. Funding is approved and I hope to start new drug in a couple of weeks. We asked for a 2 week break so that we could have a few days away, but unfortunately the OH is not well at the moment and our 2 adult children have told him that I am to be available this weekend for Mothering Sunday.😊 we hope to get away next week. Thanks mrsblue. Had mastectomy in Dec 2011 and 25 lymphs removed 23 were positive. Had FEC-T for 6 months and then 25 sessions of radiotherapy. Went back to work Feb 2013 and really enjoyed life and being me again. Had spine mets dx in May 2013, 6 months of Paclitaxol followed by an 18 month double blind Peggy trial. Liver mets dx Nov 2013 and I have had 5 cycles of Capecitabine which have not had an effect on the liver mets. So the funding has been approved for Eribulin which I hope to start in the next couple of weeks. I am a very positive person and will not give in to this terrible disease easily, but just sometimes it gets too much. Today my best friend who I have know since we were 11 ( 60 now) spent the morning with me at Wisley Gardens in the Buttefly house and then my wonderful husband took us both out for lunch. Thanks Helen I was convinced you all knew each other. It is wonderful to see the support offered by complete strangers. My Onc says if this drug does not work (4th chemo I have tried) he does not thing any other one will so it really is fingers crossed for a positive result. What hurts me most is to see the pain etched on the faces of my beloved husband of nearly 42 years and my children and grandchildren. I too been follically challenged twice and about to be for a third time. I found Annabandana on the Internet and have been very pleased with everything I have purchased. It is lovely to read the post and to realise others are in the same boat and understand how you are feeling. Hi have just had my scan results which show that Capecitabine is not working for me, my liver tumours have increased. I have been advised that I to will have Eribulin - so as Helen says all tips welcome. 😞 ... View more

Thanks Barton. I am on cycle 3 so perhaps things will improve as time goes on and the hunger pangs will disappear.. I have mets on my spine so exercise ix difficult although I try to have a walk everyday. Good luck with your 8 week plan even a small weight loss does wonders to boost your confidence. Red_Rose ...
