What beautiful words Revcat, i am so very sad to have lost our dear friend but i know that she truly will be the brightest star in the "woods" tonight shining a path for others to follow & keeping them safe, loved, reassured & entertained, with that unique sense of humour all the way & raising a glass with us in the JM 🙂 God bless & sleep well amongst the Angels my lovely friend & fellow woodie.xxx

It is with such sadness that i am on here to let you know that SCACO passed away peacefully this morning. I am sure you will all join me in sending love & prayers to Karen's husband, children & family. I know she touched many on here as creator of the Dark Woods Thread, a thread that was a lifeline for many before, through & after treatments, that offered a mixture of love, hope, frienship & humour. Karen you will be so very much missed. RIP lovely lady.xxx

I have been asked by the daughter of Eltiks(Aly) to let you know that she lost her fight with this terrible disease last night, my love & prayers go out to her children, partner & her beautiful new grandson at this very sad time. RIP Aly you will be very much missed by so many. Sarah

Hi all,
a quick update from the "woods" SCACO has returned to the hospital in the hope they can sort the terrible discomfort she is experiencing from bowel issues etc. Am sure all of you will continue to send love, prayers & best wishes that her discomfort is sorted quickly & she can return home ASAP.
When SCACO is unable to access this site, all your messages etc are passed on until she can get back on here herself to read/update & knowing the support & love out here for her will truly be helping.

Hi Carmy,
I know this procedure has been used quite succesfully in the treatment of Prostate cancer, my father had it both sucessfully & with little side effects. I had read at the time (5yrs ago) that because of its success in Prostate patients that they were looking to trial it in Breast cancer patients so am assuming that this must now of happened.
At the time of my fathers treatment only 3 hospitals in the Uk offered this procedure although & again it is my understanding that the rest of Europe & America had been using it with some fantastic results for quite a while so i am hoping that by now it is the same & that trials with Bc have now produced the same good results & maybe the Uk is again a lil behind the rest of the World as Brachytherapy for the Prostate is now offered in many of our hospitals & not just the 3 that it was 5 yrs ago.
I am sorry that i cant be more helpful in relation to the BC query but just wanted to make you aware of what an excellent tool it has been in other cancers.

Time for the Woodies to grab their flame throwers, tents, supplies & whatever else is required to help SCACO stamp on these lil blighters & of course assist anyone else that will be travelling through the "woods" with her, Revcat, can you get a tent errected so we have a place for reflection, prayer, hope or just quiet time for anyone that may need to visit, i am up & out clearing a path, as the "Woods" have got a lil overgrown in places. xxx
