Hi ladies, I've got my headscarves sorted and just need to sort out a wig. I've already cut my hair short(er) but have the clippers at the ready for when it starts falling out. Hi ladies Gill, sorry to hear you had a bad night's sleep. I Had a bad night's sleep due to abdominal pain following fertility treatmentand am now waiting to go to the hospital about that. I've got an 'emergency' appointment this afternoon. Gill, you sound very organised. Yes I'm having a heart scan because I will be having Herceptin. Dentist is done and I'm having the flu jab on Monday. Sunshine, sounds like you have been through the mill...sending you big hugs. It's pants having to cancel your holdays. We were meant to be going to Australia on 5 November to see family but have had to cancel that. Fingers crossed all will go well at the hospital this pm as I know this sounds weird but I don't want to delay the chemo for any longer and I've been Googling and think I have got ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome which can take a week to get over...I'm probably over reacting..damn Google! Hi ladies, I having been following the October chemo gang but due to fertility treatment I am not starting my chemo until 2 November (my 34 birthday of all days) so i am an 'inbetweener'. I don't start my chemo until 2 November and my oncologist wants me to take the whole of the first cycle off. I was hoping to work between each chemo session and hope that I don't need the whole of the first cycel off. I am not sure whether I should ignore the oncologist though. I've already used up all my sick days with the surgery so will now be on reduced pay so would prefer to work as much as possible. yeah I am rather concerned about my hair falling out. Like the idea of a Jester's hat though! I am hoping to get an appointment to get it cut short this week (I've not had it short since I was 10 years old) in preparation for the chemo. Hi October gang Hope everyone is ok. Claire and Joy, hope you are feeling ok after your first sessions and that the SE are minimal. Rest up and sleep well xx Finally got to see the oncologist today. I do feel more settled now that I have a treatment plan - 6 cycles 3 x FEC then 3 x TAX. As I am having fertility treatment first thet are delaying my first chemo session until 2nd November. Sadly this happens to be my 34th birthday! I have decided to 'celebrate' a week early. In the meantime the fertility drugs are making me very hormonal and a bit sick. I'm on the verge of tears and don't know whether it's just the drugs or the realisation of the chemo. I just shouted at my OH for touching my MX scar! Time to go wig and headscarf shopping. Good luck for tomorrow Libralady I had two WLE in August and a MX in September. I was off work for a few days each time. The worst part is waiting for the results but all of us ladies can give you support through the difficult time in the waiting room. BTW...they cannot do a MX without your consent. Hi October gang Lola, thanks for sharing your experience, it's really helped and well done. I hope the SE continue to be ok. Thanks for the tips on the wigs ladies. I am still deciding what to go for. My husband and friends say that I should go for something completely different...my chance to go blond.
