Hi Loubel,I had double mx with ld flap recon in aug 2010 and get tightness like being in a vice when I do any physical work and also when cold.If I touch certain areas on my chest I get a tickling sensation in my back,also when I had my nipples tattooed I could feel it in my back,very weird but not painful at all. Revcat,youve just made me cry.Clare,this brings back memories of 18mths ago when my dad was in a hospice in his last 2 wks of battling lung cancer,That was a lovely calming place where we were able to spend our last few days with dad and his pain was no longer there and we had a few days of peace and even some laughter,God bless you all through this difficult time. some of us `primaries` have lived through and nursed loved ones diagnosed with secondaries.I dont pretend to know what its like to be diagnosed but I have lived with the devastation that the diagnosis has caused and as stated in an earlier post,I take comfort from the knowledge that a secondary diagnosis doesnt automatically mean a death sentence and that comfort has come from these secondary threads and the inspiration that many of you ladies give to the primary bc ladies.I dont think any thread should be solely for a certain section of bc ladies but I do think that maybe some people should think very carefully before they submit their post. Hi, I had ovaries removed because I did have brca 1 but just wanted to let you know the op was keyhole so only tiny scar and I was only kept in overnight because of low blood pressure otherwise I would have gone home same day.I was ok to drive straight away,only had to be careful not to lift anything to heavy for a couple of wks.It was a very easy op and recovery,hope the same goes for you too, Di.x ... Hi I had tissue expanders in for a year which were recently replaced with implants.I found the expanders to be very hard,like cricket balls,they were inflated 3 times which is very uncomfortable for a couple of days initially but settles down.I was very happy when they were finally relaced with the much softer implants but they look ok under clothes and are better than nothing at all.I have also just 2 wks ago had nipples tattood and am very happy with final result,so even tho I found the expanders to be hard and at times uncomfortable the end result is worth all the hassle,Good luck on Thursday, Di.x ... Hi wintersocks,good question,whats next? i finished treatment awhile ago,just on letrozole now but when I asked at breast clinic what happens now,i was told just a yearly physical exam which worries me.how can a physical exam on reconstructed boobs reveal any reoccurance?We can never get away from bc,what with bernie nolan and now sharon osbourne being in the news no matter how hard we try to get on with things theres always something there to remind you.Its difficult and I dont think anyone of us can really forget bc and its effect on our lives.But then again maybe we shouldnt get complacent about it,the biggest worry for us all i would think is the fear of a reoccurance,How do others deal with the worry? Its still very early days,take it easy and a phased return is definately the way to go,i went back to work too early and ended up having to have another month off work when it all became too much.Two years on from initial diagnosis i still get very tired and cant do the amount of work,housework etc that I used to do.Please dont be too hard on yourself, Best wishes,Di.x ...
