Morning Jems, Rhonda sorry about the SE's, hope fingernails stay intact. I have terrible anke pain already and havent even started the docetaxol. Irenee and Jenny hope bladder infection gone now, are you drinking lots of water? Had a bit of a wobble last night, first time I have really cried since this whole lot of sh-t has started. We should have flown to South Africa on Friday for a months holiday with the family (am feeling very down) . I miss my family right now. Anyway just got to carry on. Morning Jems, Sorry to hear about your DVT Morwenna, hope the injections work. Caroline hope you are feeling a bit better and antibiotics kick in soon. Rhonda glad to hear went okay yesterday, did you get the ice gloves for your nails? I have enjoyed a glass of wine since starting chemo and am sure it is warding off the dreaded SE's (shouldnt really tempt fate writing that should I). Morning Jems, Sarah I am starting the Tax on the 20th march too. Hope we get on okay. Wendy glad you had minimal SE with this. Was hoping wouldnt eat so much as I have already put on half a stone (urgh). Yvonne I am sorry that your bloods are too low for 3rd FEC fingers crossed for next week. Morning Jems, Thanks Sarah 3rd FEC was the worst yet, had chest pains whilst having it, nurse had to stop until it subsided. SE have been worse too, but listening to others I think I have got off quite lightly. Just wanted to know how yours went and did you manage to have fish and chips that night? When is everyone starting there Taxotere. I am not looking forward to it at all. I got told I had to have 8 steriods a day starting the day before and then injections in the stomach for afterwards. I am already sitting here with a very red steriod face and it looks like I have bruises around my eyes. Jenny I havent noticed a difference in my sense of smell, but heard that Tax does affect your taste buds. I seem to have put so much weight on (which I cant afford) thay if it takes away my appetite that can only be a good thing. Anyway Jems hope you are coping with these sh---y side effects. Lee X ... Morning Jems Lynne I am so sorry that you are having such a tough time. I do hope that your little boy is okay and they find out what is wrong with him. I have been thinking of you and wondering how you were doing. It must be so difficult with the language barrier and being far from family. I am having 3rd FEC on Wednesday and dreading it. The 2nd one was worse than the first but I havent suffered with 10 days nausea. Hopefully they can give you different medication that will control it. Morning Jems, Thanks you for the tip on cetraben Yvonne, I do suffer with eczema as well so will try and buy this today. Hope Boots has it. Jenny I was thinking of booking onto the Look good event but now will definately do so I you were so impressed. My eyes have also been so sore and watery went to the Onc on Friday and she has given me Omeprazole for heartburn and Lumecare eyegel. Thanks Karen for the tip on Chanel Hydro cream (it does sound expensive) will now google it (Im 47 by the way). It will be worth it if it works for me. Morning Jems, Hope all coping okay today, sun is shining yippee . Just wanted some advice. The skin on my face is so dry and tight, it is red and blotchy and sometimes itches. My lips are cracking (despite using Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream on face and lips). Does anyone have this problem and what are they using. I also am trying aqueous cream. Any tips appreciated . Hi Jems, Jenny I am so sorry that your are having such a tough time coping. I had WLE so still have boob and feel so lucky as surgeon said I was very lucky to have kept it as lump was big. Have you spoken to any support groups etc. I know this isnt for everyone but maybe it will help. My Mom had mx after breast cancer and she said you dont know what it is like until youve been there. I do know that this BC is certainly a bugger for our self esteem. I am 47 but seem to have aged overnight. Who is this woman in the mirror? Hi Flutterby, I love your name by the way. I know how horrible it is. My OH shaved my head for me as well on 3 February. It has been over a week but still cant seem to get used to looking in the mirror. We are all going through this together so big hugs to you (((())). Hi Rhonda, Yes I am having 3 of each as well. Only had 2 FEC so far. I am jealous of you sitting in sunny Australia. Rhonda I think Docetaxol is another name for Taxotere which I will be having after the FEC has finished. Good luck with the injections, I am dreading it, but have lots of fat so shouldnt feel it. Morning Jems, Morwenna and Sarah sorry to sound so ignorant but why do you have to have a portacath fitted? Is it because of the veins and what is the difference between Picc line. Good Morning Jems, Rubydoo and Caroline hope you are feeling a bit better, FEC 2 seems to be harder for me too with more SE. Felt sick yesterday which was day 3 for me and had to have lie down which I never do in the day. My dogs have not left my side either which is comforting. Sarah am so impressed with you and your fish and chips after chemo - keep it up. Jenny what chemo are you having 6 FEC or FEC T and will injections carry on. Gay I havent had call from onc or anybody from hospital, it seems that the treatment varies from hospital to hospital. Do the injections hurt. Morwenna, hope you feel a bit better after your SE from 2nd FEC. I had a bit of leg pain yesterday but it went away after a while. Sarah66 7 hours at hospital thats rubbish hope you have someone with you to keep you company. Also hope you dont have to have chemo indefinately. Fingers crossed for some positive news for you. Yvonne I am also worried about washing wig as am rubbish at hair styling etc. Happy cruising. Love your dog, i have two little yorkies who are my babies and keep me company all the time. Hi Jems, We all seem a bit quiet on this thread, hope everyone is okay. Sarahnippress hope your chemo went okay today and you dont have many SE how is your hair doing with the cold cap. I had second FEC yesterday and feel okay so far just very tired and had pains in stomach in night and this morning. Have been drinking a lot of water. I am not getting the injections for the white cell boosters with my FEC. The onc said I would only start those when I start Taxotere. Are you other jems having these with FEC. My hair was falling out so much on weekend and my scalp was soooo painful that my OH shaved my head for me on Sunday and it is not at all sore now. Just cant get used to looking in the mirror now . Hi Raindrops, Definately go back to GP and insist on being referred to breast clinic. I went to GP and she wasnt sure if she should refer me or not but thankfully she did. As you say, you know your breasts better than anyone and if you think all is not as it should be then insist on a referral. Good luck and thinking of you. Let us know how you get on. Hi Deb, I was diagnosed with invasive lobular grade 3 cancer on 30 October 2012. I had WLE (lumpectomy and SNB) in November. I am now having chemo (FEC T). I have my second chemo on Wednesday. Hi Gay, Yes my scalp started itching and tingling first and on Tuesday it started falling out (day 14). It is really tender and painful now and am shedding more hair now than both my dogs put together. I know we have to accept it but it really is pants. Best of luck with your wigs. Hope your hair is holding on (coldcap seems to be working for some of the December ladies) fingers crossed for you. Yvonne sorry your chemo is delayed for a week.
