Morning Jewells, Hope you have all had a good night, I went to bed at 10.30 and was awake every 1-2 hours, no change there then!! Welcome Ester-I started on Wednesday with my 1st FEC and so far so good, only a fuzzy head and no trips to the bathroom yet, I am eating all the things they say-prunes fruit and All Bran and drinking loads, perhaps there will be a sign soon!!!!! Ann, so pleased you are feeling better, you sound really good now, hope it carries on. Morning Jewells, No 1 completed, just have a heavy head, but otherwise ok. I didn't get home till 7pm appointment 2pm, they were very busy, a bit frightening to start with but once started I was alright. Elizabeth- glad you are ok, your symptoms seem the same as mine except I haven't had flushes, It will be good to meet you on 1st July, looking forward to it. First a belated Happy Birthday to Marion and Lins. Emma and Elizabeth good luck for tomorrow, be thinking of you. Elizabeth- I have made an appointment on 1st July at 1pm for the LGFB session at Springfield Hospital, the staff at chemo unit suggested I go, maybe I might see you there. I too am not interested in scarves and bandanas, I tried some on when I got my wig and they looked awful, although NicJ made me think about her head itching and sore when she had her wig on, so I don't know Have been away this w/end, tried to forget what is ahead, not successful there, but having a restfull time, going home tomorrow. Morning Jewells, Joan. Yes I went to Studio 9, they are brilliant and very helpfull. Thank you for all your tips re my panic yesterday, I phoned my manager/friend and she assured me my job was safe, she's knows that chemo affects everyone in a different way, her OH has been through it twice, she expects me back around Nov. anything earlier is a bonus, so that put my mind at rest over that one. thanks girls for all your tips for SE they are very helpful, especially NicJ you have been through so much you should be an expert now. Hi everyone, been reading all your posts everyday trying to pick some hints. I went for my pre-assessment today and boy am I now scared. The nurse told me the worst, regarding the SE, also said he wouldn't expect me to be able to go to work while on chemo. What do you all think? I start treatment on 19th I'm looking to go back on 3rd July just for 4 hrs on light duties, I'm doing just 12hrs a week,(reduced hours) nothing physical, I work at M & S but I'm not on shop floor. He said because of my low immunity days the 3rd is right on the edge I can stay off on full pay until September if I need to, I just don't know what to do. I hope you can help. i am sorry that some of you seem to going through bad SE I really hope you all feel better soon. i got my wig on Tuesday, went to Southend with a couple of friends and all agree its fab!!!! Hello Marion, I suppose I am in denial really, I feel ok as if there is nothing wrong, maybe if I feel ill I will realise then what, I've been through. I feel for all you brave girls, it's so unfair, until you are involved you don't realise just how many women are suffering with this cruel illness. I do leave things till the last minute and am not very organised, my OH has said if I need anything he will get it for me. He is retired so hes home all the time. Hi everyone, I feel really bad, you all seem to be suffering one way and another and I am fine, I don't think about what has happened to me, I have had 3 ops and am now waiting for chemo to start on the 19th, I am going for wig fitting tomorrow and blood tests, perhaps it will hit me next week like you Emma, I have'nt cried or been down yet. I have been off work since January and they have been wonderfull to me. when I read your posts I feel like I am not included, it's not happening to me. I have not bought anything at all for the chemo, I can't seem to put the two together. Will it hit me all at once, I just don't know. I really wish you all well and think about you all the time. Hi Elizabeth, I read your post with interest as I am having my treatment at Broomfield, I am having my 'tour' there on Friday of this week and my first chemo on Wednesday of next week, the 19th. I have been going to Chelmsford since December, have had 3 ops, the last one being a MX and a reduction. I have had 110% treatment from everyone there and hope it continues for the next phase. Let me know how it goes on Wednesday I'll be thinking of you. I too have not bought anything for this and just hope I don't need too much. I have my wig appointment on Tues 11th. Hi All Well here we go, I had a phone call at 7 tonight giving me my appointments for the dreaded Chemo. Pre-assessment Friday 14th June, 1st session Wednesday 19th June. If I get on as well as you girls I'm sure I will be okay. That's bravado I'm scared stiff really. Welcome Nicola, You have been on your journey as long as me, I have had 3 ops, last one being MX and reduction in good side on 2nd May. I am now waiting for my Chemo appointment to come through so I haven't got a date yet. Been told will start in about 3 weeks. Morning Jewels Please may I join your group, I have been on this journey since 23rd January when I had WLE and SNB they wanted a clear margin so had 2nd WLE with ANC on February 28th, results not good so had new date for MX and reduction on good side for 18th April, then got chest infection so cancelled till 2nd May!!!!. I had op and seem to be moving forward now. Went to see ONC yesterday, I will start Chemo in about 3 weeks, so hopefully I will start before end of June. I have been keeping up with your posts and have taken all your experiences and helpful info. on board. I am quite frightened now of what is ahead of me, but with your help and guidance I hope to get through. I am especially worried about losing my hair I know there is no way I could let anyone see me bald, so the next thing is a wig!!!!!! Don't get me wrong I am 64 and a grandmother of 5 I just don't want people to know I am a cancer patient. I work full time at M & S have been there for 24 years and they have been wonderful to me, I have been on full pay since January and the girls have been brilliant, backing me all the way. I will have 3 FEC and 3 TEC Every 3 weeks so the journey goes on!!!! I have read your posts with interest and at least now I know roughly what's ahead of me. You are all brave ladies and I would be proud to join you. Sorry for such a long post but I felt I had to tell my story. I also got the all clear on Monday, but I am still a bit apprehensive, I suppose I can't quite believe it. I had 3 ops altogether, the last one being a left mastectomy and right reduction, now I just have to heal for the chemo.
