Hi Girls, Been keeping up to date with all your news and really wish I could be in Manchester this weekend it would have been great to meet up. I feel a lot better now after the emotional blip a couple of months ago. I've been attending a 'hope' course which helps people adjust to the after and living with cancer and must say it has helped me immensely. Still have aches and sensitive feet but have appointment with my Onc soon so will see what he says. We've come a long way since this time last year and I just wanted to thank you all for being there when I needed you. We are a bunch of strong, determined ladies and have got each other through this with the support of each other. Thankyou Pauline for bringing us all together. Janeypie, it's only a temporary thing. I also put on about a stone and tried to loss weight after chemo and nothing happened. It takes a few months just keep eating healthily and it will start to shift, I think it's probably all the drugs in our bodies that slows the weight loss initially. ... View more

Eliz Try Insure Pink and Mia, I had insurance with my bank as well and they wouldn't cover me for breast cancer. I recently bought an annual policy with Insure Pink for £112 which covers worldwide travel. Previous to that went to Spain after Radiotheraphy last year and got a policy from Mia which I think cost abt £60. Hope you enjoy your holiday you deserve it x ... View more

Hi everyone, just popping in from the Awsome April Angels 2013 to wish you good luck. Don't suffer with sickness girls, do you have anti sick pills prescribed? If so take them even though you don't feel sick at the time because if you wait until you do it's too late. Also if still suffering from sickness after that ask the doc for Emend, it's the best anti sick drug but they won't hand it out unless you ask because it's more expensive. Nibbling on ginger biscuits is good too. Chemo is definately doable and can't believe its a year since I started mine Fec-T. ... View more

Evening Angels, Sorry going to have to miss out on the April meet up. Lowfatlovatt, would definately agree to join a monthly thread. I started chemo last April (Fec-T) and joined the Awsome April Angels, it was a godsend. We all helped each other through the treatment, comparing notes on side effects etc and supporting each other. The information on this site is invaluable and let's face it who better to give you help and support than the ladies who have been or are going through the same journey. Hi Girls, Sorry to hear some of you are not feeling so good, I think we expect too much of ourselves sometimes and need to listen to our bodies and take time out. We have come so far over this last year. Learning to live with breast cancer is another step for us all. Great news Kate on your results, Rozz fingers crossed for today. My oh works in Egypt and is totally safe so go for it, we keep saying we'd like to do a Nile cruise but haven't got round to it. Nice to hear from you again Debra, Iam on Anastrazole and haven't had any major problems. I've been looking at flights and train fares, both are just over £200 unless I can cram everything into hand luggage which I doubt, even then it would be £170. Flying would be easier though as I would have a minimum of 2 changes by train. Was hoping it would have come in a bit cheaper as we've already booked to go away mid Feb. Have you booked yet Lynn?
