Hi im recovering at home after diep .I too have had 2lumpectomies.surgeon removed 2lumps and dcis on the first one but didn't have clear margin.on second lumpectomy another invasive lump was found lurking in between dcis.but again dcis iwas lurking in there.my surgeon then decided 2lumpectomies was enough as my breast was playing tricks.I feel reassured now the breast has been reconstructed and it's given me more piece of mind the fact that it's off and nothing lurking in there.after 2lumpectomies my breast was significantly smaller than the remaining.one .I didn't think 3lumpectomies thought 2was the max.

Hi Joan yes good to hear from you.I bought sports bra with support from asda .they actually do a post op bra now but I preferred the sports bra.not that expensive .I also have my Bridget jones big knickers on both bra and knickers 24/7.the knickers really help although not very sexy but never mind will soon be in nice knickers again .Amanda x

Hi sassy1 the scar is very low down so you have nothing to worry there.scars and recovery didn't concern me .what I wanted was a breast as near match to the other one ,what would fall with the other one and would feel like the other one .you won't regret this decision .I have 34dbreast so not that big,if you choose this I think you if you are big breasted you can choose the size you want wether you want a near match or a new size and then your boob reducing to match new one .

Hi katebil.answer to your question.the surgeon has done as near a match as possible to the other breast.if the other one does need a little bit of tweaking then that will be done in a few months.when I look at my new boob it looks more or less perfect to other.albeit nipple tattooing.I'm on day 8and havnt even had any painkillers .the trick is to keep getting up out of the chair every say hour and straightening up.if you choose this you won't be disappointed.like I said it's just a few more weeks to recoveries it hurt like he'll for a few days but it's worth it

Hi ladies .well what can I say .I can't believe I had diep 7days ago and I'm walking as normal.I have no pain at all other than a little tightness when gettin in and out of bed and up from a chair.the results are nothing short of amazing .my female surgeon at wythenshawe has done a fantastic job.my scar is perfect and low and will be able to still wear bikini knickers.I havnt seen boob yet till dressings come off my stomach is completely flat .I was told to keep getting up and straightening up as much as possible so even though getting up out of the bed was painful once I was up I just kept going for little walks.would I recommend diep ...? Yes yes and yes .forget how long the op is after all we are asleep and don't. Know anything ,forget it's longer recovery its a few more weeks but it's for life ,my main concern was I wanted a natural breast to match the other one ,what will grow with the other one and will age with the other one.this I have and my post baby baggy belly is now in the bin .yippee if anybody is thinking of diep I hope this post helps.the results are truly amazing.a couple of days discomfort were truly worth it .

Hi just got home today from diep .what can I say .the result is nothing short of amazing.my stomach is flat and healing very well.yes it feels a little tight but only when sit down or get up.I'm am amazed at the result.no pain in boob just feels little heavy..as each drain comes out more mobile I became.although it hurts to get out of bed I just kept getting up and walking around.can't believe I had diep 7days ago and am up walking normal and feel great .I have no pain at all other than getting in and out of bed and on and off chair.recomend diep to anybody .a few days of pain but the best results for life xx

Hi roxygirl .I'm havin a diep next week .after 2wle,s which didn't get clear margins as dcis is still in there.been reading your post ,my breast is like yours a significant difference in size after the 2wles and my surgeonrecomended mx .I didn't know they could perform 3wle never mind a 4th.you are in a dilemma .if you don't want a 4th tell them you want it off,after all you have been getting used to the idea and contemplating it for 2weeks.take no notice it's your body and what you want for the rest of your life.don't worry about how long surgery is you will be asleep and it will be over.I chose diep because it seemed most natural ,and I wanted a boob that ages with me ,that grows with me,that shrinks when I loose weight and most of all would feel like the other .yes the recovery is longer and I will be off work longer but it's worth it and also a free tummy tuck thrown in.all surgery is a risk but it's a risk worth taking .implants wernt an option for me as I wanted most natural .,it's your choice .I've sent you a private message .good luck with your decision Amanda x

Hi ladies after pros and cons of reconstruction journey I've decided the diep is for me.I want a boob that ages with me and grows and shrinks with me ,and this fits the bill.and hey a tummy post baby belly removed .yippee.getting anxious and it's scary but I'm sure it will be worth it in the end .I've had a lot of positive feedback from ladies who have had this procedure on a previous thread I posted.

Hi lilac blue.yes exactly I wanted a breast that ages with me and grows with me.I agree with you.I too didn't like the thought of implants and after having a c section and hysterectomy I have an idea of recovery.I'm 34d and I have enough spare tyre I.e. Flabby post pregnancy overhanging belly fat to do 2 boobs.lol.at the moment it's one breast but the dcis is towards the middle of my breasts so havin MRI scan on Thursday.if it's in other breast then it will be a double mx like sue has had.thank you for your post I've had really positive messages on this surgery .I know it's not a walk in the park but for me to look most natural and feel most natural at 48 is important and im willing to take that chance.not had a flat stomach since before having my son 27years ago so that's a bonus xxx

Yes everybody thinks that.I don't drink or smoke and like you why me ,why now but we stop asking that and just accept it.I go to church and ask question all the time .there is no answer.but I'll tell you I have got rid of all my toiletries ,make up,body products and anything with chemicals and aluminium in.I have researched 100's of websites about aluminium and parabens and chemicals in body products.a lot of them have chemicals that mimic oestrogen so for me that is a no no.I've not used deodorant since I got diagnosed.aluminium deposits were found in breast cancer tissue samples.I know chemicals are everywhere and in the home and food but if I can make a start with my body then at least I'm doing my best for the fucker not to come back.aluminium on my pits for hour and hours seeping in because we shave under our arms,something I never realised or took much notice of until I got diagnosed.it's made me well paranoid
