Hello Marchies, bloods all fine today and no need for another transfusion. So number 6 (and FINAL chemo) going ahead tomorrow morning. Yay!!! Can't believe that part of this "adventure" is over. I like the way the Valentines talk about reaching the car park. So tomorrow I'll try and follow Nipinuk and Roadshow - who's joining us next - is it Jude? Just hope I have enough change for the meter! Sorry to hear if the hard time you're going through Angela - hugs. Congratulations Scottydog, amazing news that's worth celebrating! Mungo's mum - my nails feel the same but still look ok. Funny how I can't open blister packets too - bit of a problem next few days with all my tablets! My nails are still really growing which is odd, thought they would have stopped. My hair is growing back too - dark shadow there. Fec-T cycle 5, Tax & Herceptin 2, day 15 (one week until last chemo!) Been very tired recently – like many of us it seems. The blood transfusion perked me up for a few days and I’ve been trying to eat iron-rich foods since but so tired… Will have my pre-chemo blood test next Monday so will have to see if I need another transfusion or not – really hoping not. Hi Marion, I've suffered with nose bleeds too, especially on Tax when occur nearly daily, but worst the first and second werk. They sound similar to Mungo's mums. Always got a tissue to hand! I needed a blood transfusion last weekend as haemoglobin levels below 9 for a couple of cycles but not sure if related to nosebleeds, they will check you though before your next cycle. ... View more

Infusion of Herceptin started now, tax to follow. My haemoglobin levels were low again 8.8, so will need a blood transfusion on Saturday, they said that's prob why I've been feeling tired, as I thought it was just Tax. FEC-T, cycle 5, day 1 Tax+Herceptin all going well with bloods this morning. Morning everyone, Hope everyone is doing ok today. Felt good to write Cycle 5 above, we're getting there! Yesterday I had such a manic day due to 8 pre chemo steroids! Got so much done including 3 lots of washing, changed beds, grocery shopping, trip to Ikea to buy daughter a new desk (she loves it), baking a cake (yummy strawberry and white chocolate), making homemade lemonade and chicken tikka masala. Then ate the above. When I got to go to bed I was buzzing and couldn't sleep, took a sleeping tablet and even that took ages to work! Fec-t cycle 4, day 14 (Tax and Herceptin) Starting to feel a bit better after my hospital stay and looking forward to some better days before number 5. Nipinuk sorry to hear what a crap day you’re having so far, hoping things get easier in readiness for last chemo shot. Take it easy. So hard though when you’re faced with tantrums – my 9 year old still has them so I sympathise! Hope your mouth is easing? Scottydog – have a lovely time with your parents, you’re right it does seem a long way we’ve come since those snowy, fearful days. Pammy, good luck with Tax today, thinking of you. Daffodil – sorry to hear your oh has been down. I can’t imagine men using a support forum like this can you, but it does seem that they miss out from support I went to LGFB too yesterday and yes I felt a little made up too! But was good to get the goodies (although they could have been more natural/chemical free I thought). Mungos mum – hope you’re doing ok on Tax, you’re right about it being dehydrating. Susy doesn’t sound like the weather is any different here. Have just turned the heating up. It’s so hard for the ohs too isn’t it – mine is playing more playstation and brewing beer! Morning :). Feeling lot better today thank goodness. I was sick last night, think its due to all meds, taking Dom peridone seems to be helping, Susy & Nipinuk - yes you're right. I've kept my daughter informed of everything so far and this hospital visit should be the same, guess I didn't want her to think that if she went away something might happen to me. In the end because I didn't get out until late afternoon as had to wait for meds she came with oh to collect me and all was fine. She had such a lovely time on camp and has been singing me all the camp fire songs! Hello from hospital! Just waiting to be discharged. Came in Friday evening with high temp and feeling unwell, lots of pain around bad boob. White blood count high so put on antibiotics. Bloods tested and all ok so allowed to go home with course of antibiotics. I'm waiting for one more test back to see if I have shingles, but that will take a few days. My daughter has been at Brownie camp this weekend so I'm hoping I can get home before her so she won't know I've been in hospital. Fect-T cycle 4 (Tax1 day 7) Hello Marchies, Just coming round a bit from the Taxman’s unwelcome visit! Ouch my nails hurt when I type so will make this short – just going through a few of the previous posts but forgive me not doing them all. Tax is much better in terms of sickness, heart burn, those horrible tastes and smells and generally feeling yuck. The first day or two I felt good, with very few side effects but then the tiredness hit and more recently aches and pains bit like flu all over my body. Also not been sleeping great – prob the additional steroids in my system. My nails starting hurting day 5 – feels like slight electric shocks when I knock them or type! I did get out today though and think I’m starting to feel better with help of painkillers. Portacabin is settling in now I think, changed the dressing today and it doesn’t look too scary. Product recommendation – Waitrose Baby bottom butter – made with olive oil, vanilla and chamomile – tis lovely rubbed on scalp and dry bits. Daffodil – hope your storm doesn’t come! I’ve got my LGFB next Tuesday too – had to cancel yesterdays as felt bad. Cybele – lovely to hear that, enjoy the much deserved holiday. Susy – glad you’re feeling better, enjoy the cooking. Nipinuk – love the sound of all that fruit and veg you’re eating, I’m debating getting a juicer at moment – but scared (and oh will be) that it’ll stay unused in the cupboard. Twinnumber1 – sorry to hear you feel sick – good luck for tomorrow. I know how you feel about trying to get as much done as you can before. Shelley – hope hospital visit goes ok. Tomorrow’s forecast is better so hope you can get out in the garden. I planted some new things last week. Red face this morning but still no sickness, so nice not to feel that, hope it lasts and the aches and pains which I think are due aren't too bad. Nipinuk I didn't like Emend much either, they have givem me less anti-sickness this time - just 3 days of steroids, started day before, higher dosage though so popped sleeping tablet last night as was buzzing. Also got usual domperidone but that's it. Oh and the dreaded injections. You sound like you have a busy time, hope all goes well. Just been looking at Doodle.com for arranging a meet-up, but it had more on voting for days and time rather than places, could try poll daddy or google docs.. Angela, when are you planning on moving?
