Hi Girls, Just to let you know I'll be an October Chemo Girl by the look of things! Apparently, there's about 6 weeks waiting which means we get to have a week in Spain afterall!! Naz, You are certainly right that there devious and underhand people at work. I know exactly where you are coming from! I sent a text to my boss to say how I'd got on in my wle, only to be asked "when do you get your results from today?" (there was nothing else in his text!). I fired a short broadshot across the bows - telling him politely when it was & that I'll need chemo. I've not heard a peep since from him although "his favoured squeeze" asked me the same question and got the same reply! Needless to say ...I'm in no rush to get back!! Hi Jay, Think I'm in a similar position as you! I had a WLE and SNB, 3 weeks ago and a 2nd WLE a week ago (not enough clearance). At my first post op appointment, my surgeon threw in the chemo curved-ball by saying you will talk to your onc about the pro's & cons (I've got grade 3 but no lymph nodes involved) so like you I've been mulling it over. As Ginge has said, there should be no choice they should just say "you need" and I think you cope with it better! I've decided I will have it but want it before radio (if there's an option that is!). The thought of it fills me with dread but I want feel I have done as much as possible! I have suffered with cold sores since I was a child (although they have improved as I get older) - I hate to think what I'll be like on chemo!! As for timings, I will know more on Thursday when I meet the Onc for the first time! I'm hoping they'll let me go to Spain for a week towards the end of September! Let me know how you get on! Axx ... Phone your GP ... Ok you will go through a call handler or nurse advisor at first but you should be able to speak to a medic. You can't go all weekend feeling like this! Axx ... View more

If you are feeling worse over the weekend ...don't be afraid to call your GP - you will either be redirected to another number or put through to out of hours GP services. Hi Sheila, I'm not that much far in front of you! So my been there got the T-shirt is still warm! There is no pre-described way of feeling, so don't beat yourself up. Your feelings are your feelings and no-one can belittle them! I had a WLE & sentinal node biopsy on 27th July with the radioactive injection but didn't have the wire. Each of us have different experiences but I had no problem with the injection, general anaesthetic and infact home by 2pm that day! However, I wasn't so lucky with having a grade 3 tumour & not enough clear margin taken away - so I've got another op on Weds. At the time when I was told, I took it well. When hubby & I left we cracked up a little at starting again but with the help of the ladies on here .... I've got myself back together and just think well it's another 2 weeks off work! Sorry, if I've rambled a bit all I wanted to say was ... It's ok to be scared, to rant & rave, to worry about your darling pets ... you'll get through it and we are all with you! Axx ... View more
