Wowee! I'm not surprised that your 3lb loss has cheered you up although I am concerned that you may becoming anorexic, Lozza! What a week though - smear test and starting back to work - you are a glutton for punishment and sure know how to live! I'm afraid that I have stayed the same this week, which only goes to show how strange it is when you lose a kilo one week and then the next week you stay the same when you have made just as much effort as the week before. Let's hope for better things next week as any loss is good for spurring us on. And on I must go as still some way to go before I am a skinny-minny! Good to hear that life is looking good for you Kim on all fronts so fingers crossed for you new fella, and, of course, you op. I'm sure the job will be worth waiting for so keep applying as you wouldn't really want to miss the ideal job if it came up before your op. Besides, if the employer is worth working for they will accept your circumstances if you need to take time off for your op altho I can understand your logic that it might be worth waiting until you are well on the road to recovery after your op. Don't even worry about the implant rejecting due to rads - this is a risk with any form of reconstruction - with or without rads, and I am sure your rads were done long enough ago for them to have no effect by now. I'm fine and have just had my 2nd mammogram and my breast surgeon doesn't want to see me anymore so that's it other than the annual mammogram until I hit the 5 year mark so life is looking good for me too - although I do envy your 8 and 1/2 stone!!! Hello again Kimmie Have you reached a decision after your walk in the sunshine? I opted for immediate reconstruction as it was the right choice for me at the time. If I had to choose I think that I would opt for the tummy, but make sure that you research both before you make up you mind as I definitely didn't realise that the tummy option is quite a major op with quite a long post-op recovery time. Do your homework thoroughly and ask if you can speak to women who have gone for either of your 2 choices and try and get to see what the after-effects look like and then make up your mind. No surgeon will make the decision for you, and if you're honest, you really wouldn't want them to either, even though it would seem to make life easier at the mo. Hi Scott Keeping a diary is a great idea and when all your partner's treatment is over it will be good to look back at it and see how far you have travelled together. I kept one too, and I also sent out a 'Round Robin' email to my friends, family and colleagues to keep them updated on my journey through my breast cancer treatment. I second PuffyWhiteClouds, and if you are a dedicated knitter you might want to invest in some KnitPro knitting needles. They are the Rolls-Royce of knitting needles and so light and flexible that you will never want to use ordinary metal needles again. Happy knitting! ... View more

Thursday 18th of April was my 2 year anniversary to remove my breast cancer, my 2nd mammogram results are clear and on Friday my wonderful consultant said goodbye to me, so, other than an annual mammogram for the next 3 years, that's it! What a long way my family, friends and colleagues have travelled this past 2 years but with their love and support I have made it, as will all you lovely ladies who haven't yet finished your very own journey. What have I been up to? Nothing that I haven't been doing these past few weeks although I have stepped up the exercise a bit and also trying really, really hard to make a bottle of wine last me and hubby for Saturday and Sunday dinners . I am trying the 2-day diet where you cut out carbs on these days and only eat protein. I am really hoping that this week's loss is no one-off and even a one-pound loss each week will keep me happy. ... View more

Whoop! Whoop! A red-letter week for me - Thursday 18th of April was my 2 year anniversary to remove my breast cancer, my 2nd mammogram results are clear and on Friday my wonderful breast surgeon and consultant said goodbye to me, so, other than an annual mammogram for the next 3 years, that's it! And to top it all I have lost a whole kilo this week so my bum is a whole bag of sugar smaller! Not that it notices!!! Here's hoping that this is the start of my long slippery slope down the weight scales! What a long way my family, friends and colleagues have travelled this past 2 years but with their love and support I have made it!
