Thankyou Helen ,most helpful .ive been given oramorph does it make you feel bad ? I've not tried mine yet !and would love to hope that it maybe healing mets !! Hi ladies , do you mind if I join you I was dx in 2010 and secondaries in2012 have been stable for 18 months with arimodex and recently on denosumab for mets in spine and ribs .have been pretty lucky not too much pain up until recently.I am experiencing terrible pain in ribs back and pelvic region and worried may have progression , can I ask what sort of painkillers you ladies are on some have made me feel very nauseous thanks Helen xx

Hi all ,I've not posted for a while and have a couple of questions , my oncologist has said that he will have denosumab available to him in next couple of months and he would like me to come off my tablets and go on this every 3 weeks ,are many of you ladies on this and if so has it got good results and better than bisphonates ? And also going to Greece next month and have travel insurance with my bank account which will cover me for everything else except for anything cancer related will this be sufficient as I've not been abroad since my secondary dx would really appreciate any views on both questions many thanks , and hugs to all you lovely bony ladies ,helenx

Thanks Nicky and I'm glad that you have had it reinstated ,but not under great circumstances tho hope your treatment is going well for you ,must have been a total shock after being stable for all that time ,it's nice being able to keep tabs on how everyone is doing .can I ask of anyone has trouble sleeping ive been on tamazepam for 18 months and trying to wean myself off was still wide awake at 4 this morning .just hard switching off wandered if any one has alternative methods that work for them helenx

Hi all haven't posted for a while ,was just wandering if anyone has any info regarding changes to dla ?Ion the news mentioned from April 8 that they are going to stop payments .I must say I am worried as unable to work and now worrying about this benefit being stopped and assessment of the pip which will replace this! As you all must know to the human eye all of us secondary ladies all 'look ok' as I'm sure you all get told all too often but we aren't ok and feel shut mentally as well as physically having pretty much constant pain !! It's bad enough dealing with this illness without worrying about the financial side on top !! After all that sending best wishes to all bony ladies Helen x

Hi all hope you don't mind me adding to this thread I am currently taking mistletoe therepy I live near Hereford and get mine at Worcester by a GP my onc is fine about it ,I have to say I feel pretty well on it as I have secondary bone cancer .I was given info via a lovely lady who has been on it for several years , she to has secondaries and has been stable for last 6 years after havin 3 re occurrences in quick succession from original dx 15 years ago she really believes it has given her good quality of life and she is also aware it's not a cure but hey I think when your in this situation it is vital to feel as well as you can and feel like you are doing all you can to keep your immune system working well, hope I have not offended any one but just wanted to post here regards Helen x

Hi all like some of you, I work part-time as a barber was wandering
If you get bad pains in back /shoulders at end of working day,I agree that work is a welcome distraction ,away from worry of up coming scans and results .although working with general public makes me smile when they moan about coughs and colds and how poorly they are !! .I read all posts and would like to join in with your chats I can relate so much to your feelings .Mel I was on tac chemo this time last year and remember the taste and how wiped out I felt too .can I ask if any of you ladies are able to share your fears and thoughts with your oh as unfortunately I am unable to and it does make things hard Helen x

Hi everyone good to see that there is good news for you Mel ,do any of you ladies have any experience with hypersensitive pain from your mets I'm having alot of pain in my ribs and tummy and onc says it prob referred pain or progression from mets on spine I'm on arimodex and oral bisphos so worrying that they not working ! Hi all ,I haven't posted for a long time but have been reading all posts .Claire I am at Hereford and have treatment at Cheltenham maybe we have same onc? Am due for bone scan results tomorrow worrying as I've been having pain In my ribs.I attended a course at Bristol (penny brohn)in September and met a lovely lady there she had just been dx with sec bone mets her husband e mailed me this wk to say she had passed away last wk am reeling from shock as this was just over 12 weeks ago and she was only 35 and had looked well ,I am so sad for her and her young family and also terrified at how quick this has happend I was dx in may 2012 and stil very scared by all of this I go from feeling positive and strong one minute to feeling depressed and deflated Helen x

Hi everyone,I have seen oncologist this week and he assures me that I have an infection in my breast called cellulitis it's still very red and tender on two lots of antibiotics has anyone had this infection aswell ? Clare totally understand how you feel about worrying about exercise and not getting things done I have days like these all the time please don't be too hard on yourself easier said than done !! Had a customer at work other day point out that I had a grim future and that I couldnt really plan 4 a future and how did I cope mentally with it all !!! I was bit p@@@ed off with his attitude honestly think some people think we have no feelings whatsoever any way my moan over wishing you all a good wk end x

Hi all really hope you are ok val , I'm really scared wondered if anyone can help I woke up this morning and the breast I had lump in 2010 is very pink /red it feels quite hot am so scared this may be inflammatory bc can this happen ? Have been feeling pretty crap last few days feel like have flu like symptoms and aching joints which put down to arimodex I'm panicking like mad x

Hi na7asha ,so sorry to hear your story it is unbelievable and feel so sad for you and your husband ,I too read all posts and take comfort from knowing that I'm not alone in how I feel and what we all go through.Ihad my scans this wk and have my results on Tuesday but unbelievably my onc rang me at 7.15 this evening at home to inform me that my mets are looking smaller already after 3 months treatment of radio and tablets he was so exited to tell me that he wanted to let me know ASAP so that I could have a worry tree wk end ,I am on cloud nine this is best news I've had in months ! But I'm also sensible to realise that this wil be a temporary reprieve but wil be happy for now x

Hi Katie yes I'm on bonefos bone strenghthening tablets, but it's the arimodex tablets that are giving me the joint pain ,some days I hardly have any pain , that I still can't believe I have bone mets !! Do you get many twinges in your back like sharp stabbing pains that feels like your back is locked ?

Hi all had my ct scan today and horrible experience of hunt the vein! any way nurse gave up after 4 attempts which really hurt kept telling nurse she had missed but she wouldn't have it and they make you feel like it's your fault !! So couldn't have the dye in results in on Tuesday for MRI so wil see how I'm doing on my meds .Katy I too was dx last dec with re occurrence in lymph then finished chemo in march and dx with bone mets in may I am 42 work 2 days a wk as a barber and have terrible joint pain from tablets I too feel like old lady when I stand up ,very hard to get used to after being physically active .

Just wandered if any if you have heard about cannabis oil bein a cure for cancer I've been looking on website called run from the cure and pheonix tears it's very interesting .I know it's illegal In this country but it' seems to be having good results in America and Spain where it is legal was interested if any of you have any views on this Helen x

Hi again meant to say to you Katie that I too had chemo in December last year finished it end of march and got dx in may with bone mets so was total shock and so scary as to how quickly the pain has set in and how it has effected my walking and that it totally zaps all your energy some days x
