Should have been my last this Tuesday,  oh well onwards and upwards 😄 your last one! I have to phone the unit at 8am the morning of treatment to confirm I am coming as it is so expensive. I dread to think the cost but am so grateful.  Its just a terrible shame that still it all comes down to cost.   My onc said they are trying to find a cheaper way of getting it as eventually they would rather give this than Docataxal as it is far easier on the body.   Yes they have said I can have Christmas day off which is something I guess lol. Just a major bummer as without the delay I would have been done and dusted 3 weeks before Christmas.  Just got to keep thinking of 2014 and how I am making up for this years blip.   Goid luck for tomorrow,  are you on your last one yet? It's a chemo drug. From what I can tell it's like a coated version of Docatoxel with less chance of reaction and no need for steriods beforehand 😄 ... View more

Hi all, hope your all coping well I have quite a bit of reading to catch up on as I have been awol for a few weeks. After my fiasco of my 2nd T and the nasty reaction I went a bit miserable and threw myself back into work.  Feeling a bit more brighter now I know whats happening now though. Have had no chemo for 6 weeks now whilst they were deciding what to do with me so have had 3 weeks of limbo since it happened. Due to the reaction happening pretty much as soon as it started I still have 2 to go which now means I will be having radiotherapy over Christmas which sucks. They have decided to give me abraxine, think thats how you spell it as my doctors handwriting is shocking. I don't know too much about this drug just that it's too expensive, my doctor was so busy (hour late going in to my appointment) she didn't seem to have much time to explain exactly what it is just that it costs alot of money.   Anyway enough of my moaning and I shall get reading. Hi ladies, well I'm afraid I'm going to make the post I was hoping not too. I unfortunately had a bad reaction,  bad enough it seems they will not be continuing with Docatoxal in fact they doubt I will be continuing full stop. The reaction itself I kept very calm throughout and the nurses were spot on a very quick to react. My heart rate and blood pressure did stay very high for a while and I still now feel out of sorts. My main stress is the change in my treatment and the fact I was so looking forward to reporting only one to go tonight. Feeling very fed up which is very unlike me but hey tomorrow's another day.   Fb I do agree with everyone and will say it was great to come on here tonight and see so many posts. Just thought I would get peoples thoughts. As to all the guests like myself in the past that look in please get intouch as the support we give on here to each other is invaluable and helps so much more than you can imagine.  We are here for each other so come say hi 😄   Good luck to everyone up this week and good luck today Nette, sorry to be the bearer of bad news and hope I haven't made you worry, we all react differently and even if the worse does happen they know what to do and it is over in a matter of minutes 😄 x ... I do think this site is valuable but think some place easy accessible and easy to navigate may be a way we can keep intouch easier. Hi all sorry haven't been on for a few days, have been enjoying a relatively normal life the last 10 days. I have suffered from extremely sensitive teeth and very achey legs but have been coping very well.   Had my 1 and only appointment since befor I started chemo with my onco doc and she is happy to keep my dose of T at is is so I'm relived at that but not at the prospect of the same se's all over again. Back in tomorrow for round 2 of T and to be honest I am feeling very postive as the end is in sight. Bring it on I say and this time tomorrow I can finally say only 1 left 😄 started my steriods today and I think I must be an exception to the rule as they send me tierd lol.   Wishing everybody up this week the best of luck, we are nearly there ladies 😄 ... Oh I love sex and the city and have the whole lot in a shoebox boxset 😄 season 6 is def worth a watch as one of the main characters gets diagnosed with breast cancer and the way it is dealt with is brilliant in my opinion and actually helped me alot to rewatch it.   It will be my 4th time in New York and I adore it there. My dream one day is to open a little coffee shop there. The people are so friendly and it really is like you see on the TV.   I recently moved house to get more bedrooms for my shockingly huge amount of shoes and clothes  and managed to squeeze in an extra wardrobe to hang all my wigs in. I have grown quite attached to my collection and think I may actually have to keep hold of them after. I have had my friends round for a bit of wig wearing fun and when I first had to go out in them for the first time they joinned me so I wouldn't feel so awkward,  now I love them and try to have fun with them 😄 ... Hi piggsy, I get most of them from a site called www.wiwigs.co.uk and ebay. Just make sure they are high quality kanekalon which is heat resistant (all the ones on wi wigs are) they are fantastic value for money and feel like real hair.   My hair was fire engine red before and very thick so I thought sod it I'm going to have some fun and not hide away, far from it you can see me coming a mile away with my bright array of colours. I am very alternative looking and thought ars to it if I'm changing who I am because of this.   I remembered watching sex and the city when Samantha was diagnosed and thought I'm going to deal with it like her, will say though never went for the Lil Kim look she went for. Maybe that will be wig no 31 😄   Happy birthday to Lynda and Chezzap for Sunday,  hope you both manage to enjoy your days. I started my chemo 2 days before my 37th, I reckon they do it on purpose. Hi ladies, hope you are all doing well. I'm continuing to have a good week and managing to operate quite normal. Still managing to work and enjoy a social life. Even tthough the bad days for me were worse on the T they were much shorter and the good days were ten times better. I am finding I do suffer from short periods of muscle and bone ache in my legs but it is definitely bearable.   I have an appointment with my chemo doctor who I haven't seen since before I started which is bizarre  on Thursday.  Don't know what for as the letter doesn't say but just going to turn up, no point worrying now.   My nails seem to be holding out at the mo but I'm not gonna count my chickens as it's still early, the same goes for my eyelashes and eyebrows. Half of me thinks I should just get them taken off and HD ones done now as I am waking every morning expecting to see them on my pillow.   Gearing up for Monday which will be T number 2. Not feeling to down about it as I keep reminding myself there will be only one more to go and in just under 4 weeks I will have done it and lived to tell the tale.   On a lighter note I am enjoying my life as a secret agent as my friends call me. There is nothing more amusing as a chap trying to impress you 2 nights in a row and not realising you are the same woman lol. Friday night I had curly long blue hair and Saturday night long straight purple hair, oh the fun you can have 😄   Best attempt to sleep now. Good evening ladies, hope you all have had a good weekend and the se's have been kind to you. I have had a great weekend and can't believe how well I have felt. I have managed work and a couple of nights out with friends. It has helped me remember my old life and why I am doing this to get it back. Have worked out 4 weeks tomorrow will be my last chemo and that has given me a big boost. I have 3 weeks of radiotherapy after but I honestly think after everything I have already conquered this will be a walk in the park. Yes I have pretty much worked through it, I'm 37 and a single mom to the most wonderful boy I am putting through college at the mo. It's hard but work have been amazing and it gives me that bit of normality.     T for me has been tough for around the 5 days were I have been bed ridden but as I have said before the recovery in comparison has been so much quicker. Do be prepared for the odd heavy leg episode as that has caught me off guard now and again but is manageable,  just make sure you give yourself the odd break and it is totally doable.    I am now ready to kick the crap out of round 2, we can do this 😄   ...
