Hi Rosie it's nice to be back ;0) Yes these expanders are not comfortable at all, I'm a week today and I have to say if I do anything of any real significance even a long walk they hurt a lot, one more than the other, I have been taking pain killers too. I'm not looking forward to them being pumped up I only have 50ml in each at the moment ! I still look flat chested with discs stuck under my skin ! I'm off to see the consultant this evening so he can check how I'm doing and see if I'm okay to drive, not that I want too drive around really but I can't work at home for long there is only so much I can do and I escaped the last lot of redundancy but they are doing it again ! Well hello ladies, I am tentatively putting my head up above the parapet .... I'm sorry I disappeared but I was having a bit of a tough time of it and you were all trying to be so positive so I didn't want to fill you in with what was going on and so disappeared , I didn't expect it to be so long but one thing after another happened and I was in hospital more than I was out, but all is well now and I had my expanders put in last week. (They are not as comfortable as I thought they would be). Hi ladies wine was lovely and was the chocolate and tootie fruities ! No hangover :0). Husband did bugger off to watch the football upstairs but that just meant peace and quiet. I did think about going out out with my Sis but stayed sensible lol How did the supermarket sweep go Rosie? How are you feeling ? Wildpurl great to have booked a holiday we need things to look forward and focus on. My DH has now put a **bleep**ty film on tonight he is so so exciting ! Ok good Rosie I have to admit I felt slightly sick in my stomach at the thought of you being affected by anything else ! I'm lucky I just have the one injection the day after chemo, in fact it's the only reason I went private because I they said they had access better drugs that are not always available on the NHS, it's terrible, if I didn't have the insurance from work I wouldn't have been able to do it. Will find out today about work and then see what the impact is on my insurance. No problem weeannie 😉👏 Rosie you would be horrified if I told you rubbish I have been eating, yesterday I had about 10 pickled onions, a whole big bag of cashews, rum and slimline tonic, risotto (enough to feed a small army) and anything else that was food which I could grab ! I too feel so unfit, especially as the leg is not healed yet so I can walk far as when I do it weeps, I just figurei will focus on getting fit after and that will probably help take my mind of the last 6 months ! Go easy with pool I have been told no no no swimming don't want to put a downer on it but you have not had the best time of it lately and set backs are so devastating x My injection has kicked in today so I know that's the start of my bloods coming up never have I enjoyed the feeling of back ache so much lol Hope you are all doing okay and chin up those who have just had chemo x ... Hi ladies, Glad you both got he go ahead today that fab, I hope your both coping okay x I have has a 20% reduction which they will keep to the whole way through and it's made all the difference x I had both off too, apparently it's easier to get them symmetrical for the recon but mainly because I couldn't do this again either. The chemo drugs for FEC are Flourouracil (also called 5FU) -that's the red one through the injection/syringe and drip Epirubicin - through injection/ syringe and drip or infusion Cyclophosphamide- through injection and drip that's the one that makes your taste funny and my nose blocked I don't know about the others xx We picked up the caravan today - it's chucking it down here but it's on the drive, won't be able to get away until after next round as have race for life and need to get it sorted this weekend but a couple of weeks after that I'm on it ;0) ... Hi Jos, welcome aboard ;0) x Jackie you do so well responding to everyone, I did try flicking from tab to tab so I could do that but by he time I'd post there were 2 other comments and mine looked really stupid so I gave up ! It's funny under normal circumstances I would be having a melt down about the work thing but I am not so far in fact I just think FEC it !, there isn't much I can do about it, what will be will be, it makes me wonder why I didn't have this approach before its much less stressful lol ! I can't wait for the van,I recommend everyone go and get some debt and do it lol ! Fingers crossed for tomorrow x I have heartburn again today which is random I though I had that in the bag ! Books and wine I can only repeat what everyone else has said, we all never expected this to happen to us and its throwing us around a fair bit, people say how brave we are and how well we are doing, when really we are just trying to get through each day as normally and best we can. We all have to do what we need to keep going x I struggled hitting the halfway mark too, I thought I would be happy that it was now the count down, but I wasn't, I just saw how far I still had to go, but now I remember how scared we all were about starting chemo and those of you that are changing for the next 3 it must feel the same again ...... xxx. but we are doing this and each day is a day closer to having lots of the normal things we miss back. I said to my friend I'm fed up of looking in the mirror and seeing someone one else, I want me back, and I do have moments where I wonder if I ever will come back. Most people don't understand that this is something we have to accept and live with now, and that as we get past each stage there is a new one, until eventually we can live normally and only think about this near the times of our check ups, after the daily pills have stopped, and that's a bloody long time, but as we get further on it will be less about cancer and more about life and each day is a step on. I'm seeing my surgeon in 2 weeks to check following my DM, so should know timeframes with a bit of luck and he can explain options, does anyone know what happens about nipple tattoos there isn't much info for the uk? I was going o get another tattoo but wasn't planning on these ones lol Rosie sorry to hear your sausages didn't play nice ! Thanks for the heads up re redundancy and the law I'm going to contact McMillan next week see if they can help ! It's a good job we went for the caravan last week or that would be off the cards, but for now I don't care, we pick it up tomorrow and I can't wait to play house in it, will give me something to do getting it sorted. Oh my goodness Rosie, I am so horrified for you what a shocking time you are having it seems so unfair, especially as you have boosted us all up so much and only hope we can help keep your spirit up x I had a ECG at first and once again after the clot but not as a matter of course x good to know that you have got the go ahead, we all just want to get through this as soon as possible and any delays are devastating but everyday we are closer and we have all done so well so far x I thought it would feel easier as we move further forward but its tough eh ladies x we are doing amazingly well though x sending Rosie the biggest squeeze x ...
