Tara, I get stabbing pains and achy pains in my boob and I don't have lymphodeama just so you know you are not alone. Don't start me off about some of my "old" friends - now "past" friends - what a let down they have been! My confidence isn't what it used to be and I too feel a bit socially isolated but can't find the impetus to get on out there and recreate loads of social contacts. I'm sure it will get better with time but it's not an easy ride is it? As for the hair!?!?!? Still don't recognise the person staring back at me in the mirror which isn't a confidence booster - not helped by hardly any eyelashes either as they have never fully recovered (but wey hey, the moustache and hairs on legs are coming on a treat!!). Hi Sal, good to hear from you and I am sorry I haven't been very proactive on this forum recently but I am always looking out for posts as I care about how everyone is getting on. I'm really sorry to hear about your problems with your BCN and all your niggles and I do hope you get some reassurance on Thursday when you see the surgeon. It's unfair that we seem to have to hang around waiting for answers which fuels our anxiety, stresses us out and impacts on us physically which I think is unfortunate but entirely understandable.  In response to your question about how we are really doing, If I am being candid I think that my way of coping is to bury my insecurities as deep as I can and not let them resurface or even look at them too often.  That's not to say I don't have real proper horrible wobbles or deep seated fears and I often have to give myself a good talking to, but I am doing my best (one step forward, one step back) to keep them all at bay.  I hope that makes sense. Yes it is quiet! I'm in the midst of GCSE revision too which is going ok but when she asks me to test her my heart sinks as it takes forever! The depressing part is that I although I have tested her several times on most subjects and she is getting most of it right, in my case absolutely nothing has gone in at all. It's ridiculous how my memory capacity seems to have declined since chemo and I retain very little!!!! Been gardening like mad which is good exercise (counter-act the Creme Eggs). Snow Leopards are lovely creatures, I can understand why Alex has a thing about them. My petty gripe at the moment is that it still seems bleeping cold for this time of year!! Love to all. Xx ... How many lengths Sam? You must be a good swimmer! I have never been confident in the water and wish I could do more lengths etc but I (sadly) get nervous when I am out of my depth so head for doing widths instead! Hope you are feeling much better today. Tracy, the barge ride sounds lovely. My youngest is like you, she is 11 years younger than my son so I can understand the big age gap. How was Bella Sal? Hope she is still lovely and not going through that "teenager" stage that dogs seem to go through. I think one of mine is still going through his teenager stage as he is still very naughty at the age of 6! Tara, how is work? I hope it's not getting you down too much. On a mundane note, had my hair trimmed on Friday - she took far too much off and it's gone back a few months in growth! Trouble is, it was at the "in between" stage and since I have no clue how I want my hair style to be ultimately I think she thought she would tidy it up and took a lot off. I think I am going to avoid hairdressers for a while now and leave it to grow randomly! It is a source of huge irritation that the hair on my legs (and even moustache -lovely) grows like mad but the hair on my head I s sooooo bleeping slow! Oh well, moan over. Off to vote now. Hope everyone is enjoying their Bank Holiday weekend. Raining here like mad - boring but typical. Very sad about Rio Ferdinand's wife, it's so young. Anyone watching The C Word tonight? I don't think I can face it to be honest although part of me thinks I should. Tara, yes I got through the naughty driver course but 4 hours was too long (guess it's part of the punishment!). The average age seemed to be about 60 ish (no youngsters), and the lady next to me was attending her 3rd course and she was mid 70's.
