Welcome back Peta- jet lag is awful but by the looks of the pics of Thailand well worth it. Hope your arms gets more comfortable over the next few days. Lainie- you've done your rads - big hugs, big step. How are you doing? Jingo I missed your message about your lymph scan, hope that went well - does it show the lymph flow? Never heard of a lymph scan before. Little sad new from me - my old dad, who has been in & out of hospital for a while, passed away. He had had enough and I can't say I blame him. Actually back to BC matters. I originally asked about having my overies out as I was 8/8 on oestrogen positive - onc didn't really answer. Am seeing him mid-Feb so will mention again. I was pre-menopausal before chemo. Nicnac - great pains have subsided - hate these weird aches etc. ... View more

My fave subject travel - Very true - we dragged sam around Vietnam / Thailand aged 4 - he was fine. Took him to Hong Kong interesting - lots to see, island hopping, nice beaches and there is a Disney if you're taking little kids. Haven't done a safari yet but it's on the bucket list. Morning Posse Lainie thanks for keeping us posted, you are in my thoughts often. sounds like either treatment will be a positive one so that's great. I met a lady on holiday last year that had taken the chemo tablet, funny how the common link of cancer treatment makes up open up to complete strangers while sitting at a beach bar - anyhow, she said her main symptom was achy wrists / ankles. Jingo hope you're less achy and you're on the mend soon. Nicnac- how's the stomach aches? Hope they've subsided. Well worth going for the scan for reassurance. Morning all, Quick check in while it's quiet here, we're in portugal and family is asleep and I've got sun lounger in the shade and nobody asking me to pass a towel, apply sun cream or telling me they're hungry.... im reading and staying in touch with you all and sending hugs for those that need. Will do a proper catch up when I'm home, luckily am here until sept 3rd - joy of school holidays - then I'm back to work for two days a week - Yaay - am actually looking forward to it as my odd one day a week is too disjointed. Hello all - hope prickly heat, skin, swollen bits and scans are all calming down. Our anniversary dates are coming up or have just happened - now here is something ironic - my mum been diagnosed with breast cancer today - you couldn't bloody make it up could you!!! Lump she's had for ages but not bothered about it, finally got checked - invasive, estrogen positive 4 cm tumour. So CT & bone scans coming up and she's starting letrizole tomorrow to try and shrink the tumour with a view to having mastectomy or lumpectomy in 6 months or so dependant on her dodgy heart and lungs and scan results. She just said sod it and went out for a fag - she's 79 and said she won't bother with chemo etc and to be honest I don't blame her as quality of life. one sodding day at a time. Xx ... View more

Peta just echoing what Baxter said - BCN should hopefully get you in for a scan quicker than a referral - I know when I was getting fluid build up they would scan me within a few days - this has happened between chemo & rads. Hope you, Lainie & baxter get scans and answers asap. Hate the fretting xx ... View more
