Hi all Thanks for the replies. Ej81 - have had 10 sessions ( onto 4 th cycle). Bloods are excellent. And last scan showed very good reduction in size of lesions. However, same thing happened with capecitabine so am reluctant to celebrate to much. My onc was very positive when I saw him on tues and is sure that this will work which I find is quite unusual for oncs to commit themselves in any way! So we will wait for the next scan! I did ask what the next step was and he said hormone blockers. I am also going to have ovary removal as I am pre-menopausal. Hugs jo xx

Hi all I'm currently doing taxol at the mo. Have done 9 and have another 9 left. I Was wondering how long people are currently kept on this and what treatment they went onto next? I know everyone has different plans but wondered what was the longest anyone had stayed on taxol and wether they had a break at any point Love jo x

Hi Sheila Glad you have some treatment plan going on. I have liver Mets and wouldn't know they were there if they hadn't been diagnosed! With regard to the cold cap. I use it as I am in taxol which makes you loose your hair quite quickly. I have taxol three weeks on, one week off and have to use the cold cap each time I have the taxol. I wont lie it isn't easy. There seems to be a lot of people who just can't stand it. I've lost no hair with it so it's been worth it for me. It's is EXTREMELY cold! It gets to -5.5 deg and when you take it off you have ice on your head! It's not for everyone. You can have painkillers if you want. I don't have any but I think I might have a high pain threshold! Good luck whatever you decide. I'd say it's worth a go! Jo xx

Thanks everyone for your kind wishes. You girls are amazing! It's weird but all I can think of is 'thank god I've got three months before I have to have another one!' I seem to be able to live (ish) fir the time Inbetween and then fall apart close to the scan! My husband worked out that the shrinkage over the two areas of lesions was 64%! I'll take that and run for the hills ! To all the ladies having scans and results this week the very best of luck! Much love jo xxx

Afternoon ladies! Thank you for all the replies and lovely thoughts you've sent my way! Well. - the results are in ! THEYVE SHRUNK! Yay! Smaller lesions have disappeared and the two larger ones have shrunk. Don't know exact sizes am going to get my scan report emailed so I can keep it. Bloods are perfect. Onc very happy! Had a taxol today and have to have another 11. Am very happy with that! Much love to everyone and I really like the Valium tip! Jo xx

Hi all I have scan results tomorrow and feel physically sick about it! I'm on taxol after cape didn't work and feel like I'm just waiting fir that hammer blow that's going to tell me it's failed again! How does everyone get through these really stressful time?? Hi all Miss piggy - thank you for your reply. I've never heard of indole3 carbinole. Will look that up. B17 is a little controversial but like you say shouldn't be used along side chemo. What do you use the QCo10 for again? I've started making smoothies. It's an immune boosting one. It has kale,spinach,kiwi,pineapple and pear in it. It's really tasty even if it looks like green sludge!! Best wishes Jo x

hi all thank you ladies for your replies. it does seem that tumour markers can be inconsistent and i can see from the replies that they work for some and not others. they did give me a list of them dating back to june 2014 and you can see the dips when a treatment was working and raised when it had stopped working. I think they are useful for a guideline. Here's to many more dips for everyone! belinda - thank you that its an interesting website. Tinkerbelle - 7 - is really low. Has it ever moved from that? joxx

Hi all Went to the marsden yesterday for treatment and was shown my tumour markers fir the first time. My onc doesn't use these to base his treatment on and prefers to scan. How many out there use these or think that they are quite a useful tool? It was a CA15-3 and when my treatment (cape) stopped working it went up to 33. I have been on taxol and have just had fifth session and the markers have dropped to 25. Hoping for more shrinkage for everyone! Best wishes jo xx
