You are a very very brave lady,after my visit to clinic and the waiting for results it was said I had a benign fibroadanoma ,then after looking again said cellular so now saying benign phylloydes and lumpectomy required measures 9cmx 6cms a beauty lol! Consultant did not want to see me for a month to have pre op,I am petrified as last time I had panic attack in the hospital claustrophobic room waiting to be seen by consultant!Thing that worries me is how can they tell it's benign phylloydes ?consultant foreign and I could hardly understand him and breast nurse well??? I know exactly how you feel,I was beside myself with fear that was three weeks ago and still on despair,some people can deal with it,and others are like myselfWhen i went to clinic I was fine but as soon as I saw consultant I had a panic attack!Try and take someone with you I didn't ,they should be able to go in with you for the tests!mine is not plain sailing as I have to have a lumpectomy to diagnose what the lump is?keep in touch on this forum ,the ladies are great and please do not google I did and made myself worse! If you are besides with worry like I am ,you can speak to a breast nurse at the clinic,they are very understanding and may be able to put your mind at rest. Easy to say but stay positive,I had biopsy done few weeks ago thought it was benign fibroadanoma,then decided benign phylloydes,I have got to have lumpectomy in next two weeks to get a definite diagnosis be pleased when lump is out,have you got a lump ? Shar xx ... View more

Thanks for your kindness,I shall try and take a leaf out of your book and stop feeling sorry for myself,do you know what really hurts my close family avoid calling me talking to me how cruel is that?you can pick your friends but not your family hey?sounds like you have a good family there and I admire your courage and good spirit!My hubby had esophagus cancer 3 years ago 4 inch tumour removed and still here enjoying life,like he said to me you can be treated and you are in their clever hands to sort it!! The waiting is horrendous,what I am trying do is keep busy,did your biopsies show that you had this? Mine showed up as lump on mammogram ,then biopsy was done,,along with ultrasound!it amazes me how the labs etc can tell what sort of cancer it is? Shar xx ... View more

Hello kit that,I know exactly how you feel ,I am 52 thought my lump was hormone change etc,had the biopsy results which first said fibroadanoma,then decided it was a phyllodes and I have to have it removed,you still can't get negative thoughts out of your mind well I can't anyway!please do not google anything like I did it made me worse just stay on here they are lovely ladies ,I go for my pre op next week get this horrid lump out then try and focus on christmas which at the moment can take a back seat for me,I have to then wait a further two weeks for results to see what next lot of treatment is!i dread going to my clinic as the atmosphere is so so depressing and I panic when I get there !My sister in laws friend had both breasts off about 3months ago and on Tamoxifen and she looks brill so there you go xx ... Hello ,I had the same done a few weeks ago I was there about 3 hours for the mammogram ultrasound and biopsy,the results take around a week or so,the biopsy gets checked at the labs!have you any symptoms,I have a lumpectomy in 2 weeks for a fibroadanoma come benign phllodes can't wait to get this wait over with? I know exactly how you feel,the clinic I attended for the mammogram ultrasound biopsy is horrid,Where I live is a small town so had to travel to the breast screening clinic,my god it was like a cattle market,no friendliness at all ,rush rush rush,I have changed my consultant as he had no time to explain just left breast care nurse to carry on explaining!i have since been to my gp through stress and anxiety ,I always thought these places were supposed to be calming to put us ladies at ease ! If you need any advice call the hospital and ask to speak to a breast care nurse to reassure you,I am due to go for lumpectomy hopefully soon,it's the waiting that gets you down,it's ok people saying focus on something they are the ones that are not waiting for results! Hello Sorry to see you are worrying I was the same as you ,if you are worried speak to a breast nurse at the hospital,they are lovely and maybe able to reassure you,my gp excellent too! I have a fibroadanoma/benign phyllodes so having lumpectomy as these can grow very big,I still worry which is silly as I have not been diagnosed with malignant !hope all goes well Shar xx ...
