Hi Peta and everyone   I hope you are all well and having some bank holiday sunshine.   I specifically asked my oncologist when the 2 years were up for me. He told me that usually it's counted from either diagnosis or surgery - and because those two things are normally so close they choose diagnosis. However I had my chemo first (diagnosed 17/09/14) and then surgery (26/02/15) that they would take my surgery date.....so 26/02/16 was 1 year clear.   It's all so terrifying isn't it? the thought of recurrence and all it's inevitability - at least for us triple negative ladies. We don't have the awfulness of of Tamoxifen or Letrozole etc for 10 years - and i know from my cousin that it's horrendous, but we do face just a few short months if it comes back.....not sure if that's a good trade off or not!   I cannot make Lainies funeral this week but I would love to be there to support her family in the way she supported us all.   Love and hugs to you all xxx ... Hello Ladies I'm devastated about LainieG - what an appalling thing to happen to someone who has shown such compassion to all of us.   Lainie and I are the only two triple negative ladies in this group as far as I know. I was told early on that if it re-occurred during the first two years my life expectancy was less than a year. Lots of women survive secondaries for many years, but very few of them are triple negative. So up to now I have felt ok about things, but now I am terrified.........I have another 9 months before I am 2 years clear.   I am also full of self-disgust that I am thinking of myself rather than Lainie and her family, so not feeling good at all.   Sorry to be so negative. xx ... HI Ladies   sorry I have not been on here for quite a while.   LainieG - I would absolutely do what you have done - ask the question and then set my goal to beat the answer. It surely is time for things to go your way after everything that's happened and I have fingers and toes crossed for you.   Sorry to hear about lymphodema woes as well, it must be really unpleasant after everything else you'be gone through. I still have peripheral neuropathy although its lots better but it just reminds me everyday and I would prefer to forget about the whole thing as much as possible,   Off to my first mammogram this afternoon....   Love to everyone xxx ... Thank goodness for that Lainie, I was dreading you saying that it was going to be weeks and weeks. Are the sessions every day or more widespread than that? Hi Lainie   I'm glld to hear there is a way forward for you, as Peta said we will all be here for you as you go through your treatment and I really hope it will not be as harsh as last time but if it is we will do everything we can to help.   Jingo_x I hope you will soon be up and about and be on the road to recovery. Hello ladies.   I've been off everything - here and faceboook - whilst looking after my daughter who is still in a wheelchair after her accident. I love my two grandchildren (3.5 and 2) but they are exhausting!   So sorry to hear that you are having problems - I had really hoped that things would have improved over the last few weeks....my thoughts and prayers are with you both.   Like LainieG my cancer was triple negative so I am really fortunate not to have to take any other drugs and suffer these side effects. On the plus side my cousin who had a hormone based cancer the year before me has got over her side effects so hopefully there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Hi Bettypoppit, I am now working days a week with an hours drive each way, I'm coping better than I was two months ago but still get very tired and have to go to bed earlier than I used to.. and I'm really pleased to have the other day off!   I find I am not sleeping well though and I am sure tha.t doesn't help.   good news for you Jingo-x and I'm very pleased to hear it.   Sorry to hear of others aches and pains not resolving themselves as quickly as we would like - we'll get there..... xx ... Hi Nicnac I've that for several times day for at least 8 if not 10 weeks now - though it does seem to be a bit better this week. I get it in my arms and legs and it's a slightly less severe than the perpheral neuropathy I have and fortuately doesn't last long when it comes. I just assumed it was nerve damage from the Docetaxel and haven't seen anyone about it.   Good to hear of last herceptin injections and good mri and mammogram results.....at last the good news seems to be greater than the bad. Not to belittle the eye situation,  swollen boobs , or bad pains etc at all......but it does seem that we are all slowly mending.  Although my memory is still shot!   I'm going to my daughter-in-law's nan's 80th party on Saturday and then i guess watching wimbledon on Sunday - quiet weekend for me! xx         ... My goodness me - someone who started chemo in October 14 and hasn't been in hospital - a rare person indeed! Good grief Jingo_x! I can't really express my feelings about what you are going through but I think "horror" sums it up! 4 types of cancer - I wouldn't have thought that possible. However I think that it's better to know now than to go through a year and then be told and then have to have a mastectomy - you should pride yourself on you prescience of having and elective one! Well done you. I know you probably don't feel it at the moment but I think it's a victory for you - you haven't let it get any traction and it was your decision and it was to be preventative and it was - seriously well done.   So glad your boy's condition is manageable, hopefully that will make thing easier for all of you. much love xxxx ... Oh Jingo_x how horrible for you and your family. I hope your little chap is ok though and you get through the weekend without too many worries.   Debtex good that things are starting to get better with your feet. Mine are better with 3 sessions of acupuncture (painful though it is) and I have another one booked for next Friday.   A beer and a curry sounds good to me!   I had to go back to the hospital today as my skin has broken down and is really painful particularly under the breast where it is raw and bleeding. They dressed it for me and gave me some Intrasite gel - has anyone else had this gel? I'm supposed to take the dressing off tonight and put the gel on and repeat for the next three days. Paracetamol for the pain - but I have co-codamol if I need it.   I hope you all have a good weekend and that there's some decent weather - which always makes the world seem a better place.. xxx ...
