Hi Elaine and Susan - am in similar position to you both. Mx 2 weeks ago, result yesterday. Micro in one node, other 2 clear . Was pleased it's not spread of course and had expected to need rads but shocked to have chemo. Hormone markers unclear . More info awaited. Will be jan before I see oncologist / start chemo. Finding it hard to know what to drop / keep up with over next 6 months. Good luck ladies

Hi all - am at similar stage I think to many of you. Mastectomy 19/11; results today- 13mm tumour, grade 3; ER neg, PR neg; HER2 unclear- sent for re -testing . Micro amount of cancer cells <2mm in 2 lymph nodes. Chemo (a surprise -had hoped to avoid this- is policy changing re this?) plus rads after that. No date for onc yet but prob mid jan and starting chemo soon after that. Feels like life for next 9 months suddenly put on hold. Value the info and support here v much - thanks to all. Keep updating and I guess we'll meet up on a January chemo thread!

Sent a msg but seems lost. Apols if repeat. Ok to do exercises with drains in. I found it helpful to put drains in shoulder bag while doing the exercises. Slow but mostly steady progress with odd setback. 2 weeks after surgery now. Good luck! Don't be disheartened if progress frustratingly slow! X

What a great idea Maggie! My fav things so far are: 1. cotton cross -body bag, loaned to me by the hospital (made by volunteers and returned to the hospital after use) which was used to carry the drain about - looked just like an attractive shoulder bag (or so I tell myself!). Loved wandering around the local Marks etc or going out for a coffee with my bags of blood etc surreptiously dangling out of my chest unbeknown to anyone else! Could be made easily oneself. 2. little heart shaped pillow- similar to yours- made from a simple pattern I'd found onlne (google eg breast cancer plus heart shaped pillow/cushion). V easy to make- used 2 of my old running t shirts - cut to display race logos etc on the front + stuffed with soft toy filling. Ribbons to tie above shoulder. A constructive way to keep busy post diagnosis and pre op. Annie
