Isn't it strange how we do that? If I have no side effects I worry things aren't doing what they should. Same with the hormone therapy. Think if i haven't got lack of libido must mean it isn't working!!! One day maybe we get to stop worrying but I'm not there yet! xx

Funny you should say that. Only had WLE and radiotherapy and now on letrozole. But my husband has had some stinking colds and I have not caught them. And I teach so always stuff going around - but I haven't picked up anything. Of course now i've said that I'm fully expecting to go down with something in the next few days ..... x

I've been on Letrozole for about 14 months now and I do get stiffness in my joints but not sure whether its the meds or my advancing age! I also get very sore itchy eyes - trivial I know but wonder if anyone else has the same thing? To begin with I seemed to be given a different brand every time but now my doctors surgery ( pharmacy attached to the practice) seems to just stick with Cipla. xx

If you are about the same age as me Libby you are probably past menopause so more likely to be prescribed something like Letrozole. I have been on it for over a year now and apart from creaky joints - which I may have had anyway as family history of rheumatism, arthritis etc - I am fine. I had 15 sessions of radiotherapy which really were no problem either. Like everyone here says take it a day at a time and don't google. That can drive you round the bend! xxx

It really wasn't that bad Libby. Strange but not painful. Felt like an alien with 2 wires sticking out ofmy boob because they put the first one in the wrong place. xxx

Good! Onwards and upwards as they say. I had to have the wire too - felt very strange but not painful. It always feels better once you know what the next steps are. It's the anticipation that drives me round the bend as I always fear the worst. Good luck and kep us posted on your progress. xx

Yes I had WLE , followed by radiotherapy - 15 sessions- and now on Letrozole for 5 years. Throughout the treatment I felt a bit of a fraud as I never really felt unwell. Radiotherapy was fine - a bit tired but otherwise no problems. It was all a lot more do-able than I anticipated and I am lucky that side-effects of the letrozole don't really bother me either. I found it more difficult to cope mentally than physically and still have the occasional wobble. Glad you have good support from those around you - and lots of on-line support here too! xx

Your story sounds identical to where I was one year ago. And I am OK now - mostly. The worst bits are the waiting, the not knowing and imagining the worst - and I can't pretend that I don't still have middle of the night worries. But you will be surprised by how manageable it is once you know exactly what you are facing. And this forum is hugely supportive. Good luck! Love Eileen x

Mine took 2 drainages and a couple of weeks but only put back the radiotherapy by 3 weeks altogether.Have they suggested draining it? It really helped. Hope your Mum sorted soon! xx

Didn't have chemo but did have rads and was worried as I burn easily being freckly and red haired too. I really thought I would have skin problems with rads.And I didn't at all. Radiologist told me fair skin not a predictor . Used .lots of moisturiser, drank lots of water and only had lukewarm showers and I didn't even go pink. Hope it will be the same for you xxx
